  1. Insert appropriate seasonal greeting here!
    :hi:

I have some pretty big changes planned for the holiday season, so welcome to the hype thread. This year the wrapping paper is clear, most of it anyway, and you get to see the new things in advance. Feel free to comment on this stuff, discuss, make suggestions, ask questions, throw your ideas out there, whatever you want. The entire point is to make this place better for you lol, so if you want to tell me how to do that, I'm all ears. So, anyway what's under the tree?

    AWARDS
You will soon be able to get and give awards. Mostly get. There will be various Onion Tokens (look like arcade tokens) awarded for things like 100 posts, or 10 best answers to questions etc. In total there will be about 21 tokens you can get. There will also be various colored Onion Cards which members can award each other with, for all kinds of random social stuff. Beyond that there will be trophies for things like character creation, stage creation, cotm etc.

    RANKS
Upgrades to the forum software have done away with our old ranking system, which was based entirely on number of posts. We now have a points based Ranking economy, where various numbers of points are earned for various activities, like 10 points for a new post, or 5 points for a reply, or 2 points for a react, etc. Points can be gained in all kinds of ways, and they will advance you through 30 levels of Rank.

    GROUPS
Members will be allowed to create Groups, and there will also be some "site official" groups. Groups have leaders, moderators, members, and varying levels of accessibility all determined by their creator. It's possible to make a group for pretty much anything, they don't have to be Mugen related. All of the content on the front page under the Ikemen Dojo, and above The Castle / Staff stuff, will be moved into individual Groups. Those groups will be looking for mods too, so keep an eye out in them for mod threads if you're interested.

    REACTIONS
There will be new reaction choices. We've gotten rid of downvoting, the 3 reaction types that increase the posters reputation will be "like", "rep-up", and "thanks". There will also be animated emoji reactions which do not increase the posters rep.

    NEW TIMELINE
The timeline is getting a css overhaul that makes it look more like other social media sites, and less like an eyesore. Again, this was something that was done a while ago, but a major update to the system software killed the old version, so a new one was/is being created.

  2. This thread is for public discussion about the current issue with staff backing up Ryou's collections in the collection section.  The goal is to clear the air and put everything out in the open, and let everyone discuss it in one place. Too many things are currently being relayed between people indirectly in an effort to resolve this peacefully. So in an effort to get everyone is on the same page with full transparency, so everyone knows where everyone else is at, and has full and easy access to staff for questions, here's a thread to centralize the discussion on. I know this is a tense issue, but I hope with enough communication we can get this all sorted out. This discussion is open to anyone and everyone, and will be followed by all of our staff.

  3. After much deliberation, head scratching, mustache twisting, and plotting with ridonkulocity hitherto unseen... or maybe just a few solid staff convos, we're happy to announce the new members of our mod squad!
    :kamina_head_by_ismaelcherro-d4y74y6:

@Dissidia has taken on the role of G-Mod on both the server and the site. As a long standing and friendly member of the MFFA community and knowledgeable Mugen creator and gamer we're stoked to have him on the team!
    :gaming:

@gui0007 move up to the role of G-Mod on the site. He does have the position on the server as well, but his main area of focus is the forums. So if you want to contact him, that's where to do it. He's another MFFA veteran, and Mugen creator well deserving of respect and appreciation!
    :relax:

@Neo_Fire_Sonic is our new Discord Mod . He's been an MFFA as long as any of us, and with the Discord server from its inception. Our resident feisty Sonic fanatic will now be making sure everyone remains copacetic on the server, so when he says dash start spinning!
    :steal:

@Sir Ghostler has ascended to the rank of @Admin . Behold the apotheosis of the newest god in the MFFA pantheon! A proven G-Mod , established MFFA member, and Mugen creator with a keen sense of fairness, we're a richer team for having him in the top ranks!

Much gratitude and respect to all of our staff members for the work you do, day in and day out! Everyone knows it's not easy makin the big bucks with your feet on the desk all day, but we all passively appreciate being able to enjoy ourselves without being overrun by roving droves of assholes. Thanks for all you do.

  4. Oh, I'll merge them for you. I just need to know the name on your other account. And also, just to double check, you want me to keep the other one, and merge FireHonor's content into it, correct?

Also, the only way to delete your account is to request staff delete it manually, which may or may not be done, depending on the amount of content and conversations etc that would be rendered unintelligible by deleting it, given that all the posts get deleted with it.  Normally we just ask people to change their name to inactive and remove their profile / cover photo and any other info they want gone.

  5. There are a couple minor issues I can see on my side here. First is that it looks like at some point in the process you updated your email to add a "." which gmail ignores but some email services don't. That MIGHT have triggered an issue, I don't know. That aside something about your IP tripped our spam defense, but not to a degree where it should've prevented you from registering. Anyway, none of that matters, long story short I manually approved your account so you should be good to go. Sorry for the hassle.

     :goodjob:

  6. Hi there!  There are currently 2 video showcases for Mugen creations, one in the WIP forum and one in the Releases forum. You can put stages or screen packs in either one, they aren't just for characters. The video title will make it known to the viewer what in the video they should be paying attention to.
    :goodjob:

  7. SITE'S FEATURES

    •  COLLECTIONS

    Spoiler

The [ COLLECTIONS ] forum is one of the site's main draws. A lot of people find themselves here initially because they're looking for Mugen characters and stages to download, and the Collections forum is set up for exactly that. It's choc full of beautifully curated Mugen content, organized by game, universe or other various groupings. It's open to members to create and manage their own collections, so it grows by the day. Definitely worth a visit.

    •  TIMELINE

    Spoiler

The Timeline feature is accessible in the top nav bar, where it's the second tab from the left up top. This will give you a standard social media type overview of all the recent activity around the site. You can post status updates here, comment, react, and filter content in the timeline to fit what you're looking for. Hovering over the Timeline top tab in the nav bar will reveal various sub menus that make filtering easy. For regular forum goes, this is a staple for keeping up with what's going on around the site.

    •  FOLLOWING CONTENT

    Spoiler

You have the ability to follow topics, entire forums / sub-forums, events, members and award clubs. Depending on what you're following, you'll get notifications for various activity related to it, and you'll be able to filter for it in your timeline.

You can control what type of notification, and what specific activity triggers them in your account settings. You can set it to send push notifications through your browser, if you want to be notified even when you're off site, notifications through email and/or onsite notifications which show up in your notifications manager here:

    By the default settings:
    • You'll automatically follow any topics you start.
    • Following a topic means you'll get onsite notifications any time someone comments on it.
    • Following a forum / sub-forum means you'll get a notification any time someone comments on any topic in it.
    • Following a member just allows you to filter for their activity in your timeline.
    • Following an event means you'll get notified when it's happening.
    • Following a specific award club means you'll be notified anytime someone receives that award.

    •  LEADERBOARD

    Spoiler

The leaderboard lets you see which members have gotten the most likes, or reputation or posted the most content each week, month or year. It doesn't serve much of a functional purpose other than to supply credit bragging rights where due.

    •  OUR PICKS

    Spoiler

The [ OUR PICKS ] area can be accessed from the top nav bar in the Features tab, or as a sub-forum in Special Events. It contains various threads from around the forum that staff has hand picked to feature. Updates come in batches around the middle of the weekend, so it can be worth checking in once a week.

    •  AWARDS

    Spoiler

Members can receive awards for various achievements. These come in the form of being entered into an Awards Club. You can find details about the awards in Award Clubs directory, and also see which members have each award. To get there normally, hover over the Features tab on the top nav bar, and select Award Clubs from the sub-menu that appears.

  8. DISCUSSIONS TOPICS

    •  MUGEN RELATED TOPICS

    Spoiler

All of the random discussion that takes place around Mugen happens in the [ MUGEN LOUNGE ]. It's pretty straight forward, if the topic of discussion is related to Mugen or the Mugen community, be it other sites, creators, styles etc those conversations all happen here. Really the only Mugen related conversations that don't happen here, are specific character feedback which happens on the release thread, WIP creation related discussion that happens in WIP topics, and help requests regarding coding and finding content.

    •  WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU NEED HELP

    Spoiler

People usually have questions when it comes to Mugen. Where can I find this? Do you know who created that? How do I code a homing missile? Where on the site can I complain to staff? We have a [ P2P HELP ] section for all of that. P2P stands for "peer to peer" meaning questions can be asked and answered by anyone on the site. If you feel like making a fellow forum member's day with ease, this is a great place to do it. The little green check mark under your avatar next to your reputation is how many top answers you provided to questions. So it's a great way to earn cred, on top of just being a nice thing to do.

    •  GAMING RELATED DISCUSSIONS

    Spoiler

Clearly this is a gaming related community. And people here like to talk about new games coming out, old games from back when, Capcom's latest legal battles, sweet little indie start ups, E-Sports and everything else gaming related you can imagine. Enter the [ GENERAL GAMING ] forum. It has sub-forums for popular topics like [ NINTENDO ], [ MICROSOFT ], [ SONY ], and [ RETRO ]

    •  SHARING ART, MUSIC, WRITING, AND FANTASY

    Spoiler

There a few topics aside from Mugen and general gaming that are popular with members around the site. As long as they're relevant in some distant way to Mugen creation we try to accommodate what we can. We have sub-forums for the following topics: [ ANIME & MANGA ], [ ROLEPLAY & FANFIC ], [ MUSIC TALK ] and [ ART GALLERIES ]. Take a look around them and join in a discussion.

    •  OFF-TOPIC STUFF

    Spoiler

And of course, the off-topic board [ RANDOM CHATTER ]. A place for members to mingle and chat about whatever the heck they want. Doesn't matter what it is, (unless it's like highly illegal) you can discuss it here. And if English isn't your first language, there's an [ INTERNATIONAL ] sub-forum where you can find other members who speak the same language(s) as you.

    •  CHATTING WITH STAFF

    Spoiler

Got something to share with staff? Or just want to know what they're up to? [ STAFF HQ ] is the place. You can make suggestions to improve the site, report problems or bugs, weigh in on staff's decisions, or keep an eye on what we're up to. Any input is welcome here, so please don't be shy.

    •  WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU SEE A BROKEN POST

    Spoiler

Sometimes you'll stumble upon a post that's broken in some way. Either the image is missing, or the link is dead, or it's in the wrong forum, or something like that. When you see one of those, click on the  ••• in the upper right hand corner of the offending post, and select "Report" from the small dropdown that appears. A popup window will appear giving you the option to leave a message with your report. Please do so, and indicate what's broken or why you're reporting the post. Thanks in advance, we appreciate your help in keeping our streets clean.

  9. MUGEN CONTENT

    •  HOW TO SHARE MUGEN STUFF RIGHT

    Spoiler

••  HOW TO MAKE A POST WHEN SHARING

    Spoiler

The first thing you'll need to know is what to include in a post when sharing some Mugen content. There are 3 essential things that should be included in every release post no matter what or where, and 3 things you may or may not want to include depending on the nature of the content. Take a look around at existing release threads to get a feel for how other people include these.

    The essential 3 things are:
1 - The name of the thing you're sharing. At a minimum this should go in the post title, but in the post is fine too.
    2 - The download link.
3 - Preview Images. At least 1, but 2 or 3 is a pretty much standard.

If it isn't you're creation, you're absolutely going to want to add:
4 - Credit to the creator. Meaning mention their name (the topic title is a good place).

The following things are nice to add if you can:
5 - A quick description of the content.
    6 - A moves list, especially if it's a character you made.

    ••  WHERE TO SHARE IT

    Spoiler

There are a few forums and sub-forums around the site where you can share Mugen creations, whether or not they're yours. All of them are in the Mugen District section of the front page. For organizational reasons it's important that you try to share it in the proper place, so here's the list and what type of creations can be shared in each forum there:

    [ RELEASES ]

For sharing things you created yourself, not edits you made to existing content. If you created a character, stage or screen pack it goes here.

    [ RELEASES ]

    [ EDITS & ADD-ONS ]
For sharing edits you made of existing content or add-ons that can be used to upgrade existing content. If you edited a character, stage or screenpack it goes here. If you created a palette, a patch, life bars, or hit sparks, it also goes here.

    [ RELEASES ]

    [ OFFSITE ]

For sharing releases you found on other Mugen sites. If you found a character, stage, screen pack, life bars, hit sparks, palette or patch somewhere else on the web, get the preview images and the download link and share it here.

    [ RELEASES ]

    [ RESOURCES ]

This is for sharing things sprite sheets, sprite sets, sound effects and background music. If it's a resource that can be used to create Mugen content, then it goes here, whether you created it or found it somewhere else. This sub-forum is broken down into sections titled [ CHARACTER SPRITES ], [ STAGE SPRITES ], [ SYSTEM SPRITES ], [ SOUND EFFECTS ] and [ BACKGROUND MUSIC]. Make sure you post the resource in the appropriate sub-forum.  Note that [ RESOURCES ] is a link to the [ RESOURCE WING ] sub-forum in [ THE WAREHOUSE ], and so is [ SPRITES & SOUNDS ] in the [ CREATION LAB ] forum, so any resources you post will be immediately accessible to creators to use.

    [ RELEASES ]

    [ FULL GAMES ]

This is for sharing full games you made. It counts as a full game if you carefully selected the characters, the screen pack, stages, life bars, and hit sparks and did at least some editing to all the characters or a significant amount of work to make it a unique creation somehow. If you just assembled characters, stages, and a screen pack without editing or adding anything unique it goes in [ COMPILATIONS ].

    [ RELEASES ]

    ┗ [ FULL GAMES ]

        ┗ [ COMPILATIONS ]

This is for sharing compilations you made. What distinguishes a compilation from a full game is this: It's a full game if you carefully selected the characters, the screen pack, stages, life bars, and hit sparks and did at least some editing to all the characters or a significant amount of work to make it a unique creation somehow. If you just assembled characters, stages, and a screen pack without editing or adding anything unique it goes here.

    [ RELEASES ]

    ┗ [ FULL GAMES ]

        ┗ [ IKEMEN ]
This is where you can release any full Ikemen games you either made or found. Where most Mugen content will work with Ikemen, there are occasional minor compatibility issues, so anything released here should be tested in the Ikemen engine. Note this is a link to the [ RELEASES ] sub-forum of the [ IKEMEN DOJO ].

    [ IKEMEN DOJO ]

    [ RELEASES ]

Any Ikemen compatible creations can be released here. Where most Mugen content will work with Ikemen, there are occasional minor compatibility issues, so anything released here should be tested in the Ikemen engine.

    • WHERE TO DOWNLOAD CHARACTERS, STAGES ETC

    Spoiler

    ••  COLLECTIONS

    Spoiler

The first place to check for downloadable Mugen content is the [ COLLECTIONS ] forum. In the main forum there you'll find assorted collections of characters organized by game or other groupings. Definitely the first stop on anyone's character shopping list.

There are also sub-forums there for [ STAGES ] and [ MOTIFS ] collections, which contain groupings of stages, and screen packs / life bars / hit sparks respectively. And lastly there's a sub-forum dedicated to [ HOUSE CHOICE CREATORS ] where some of the best creators from around the site each have their own sub-forum. It's like our Hall of Fame. Everything in there is quality.

    ••  RELEASES

    Spoiler

Next place to check is the [ RELEASES ] forum. Here in the main forum you'll find characters, stages, and screen packs release topics posted by the creators themselves. Not only is this where you'll find the latest stuff to come out, but you can let the creators know what you think about their work. While you're here, please do leave them some feedback, suggestions or appreciation in a comment.

There's a sub-forum in Releases called [ OFFSITE ] where you can find recent releases from other Mugen sites, but the topics are not hosted by the character's creators. There's also a sub-forum called [ EDITS & ADD-ONS ] where you can find edits of existing content and upgrades for your characters like palettes and AI patches.

If you're feeling ambitious there's also a sub-forum here called [ FULL GAMES ], where you can download entire playable games with no assembly required. Full games have had some work put into each of the characters and the motif to make them a coherent project that's playable from start to finish.

If you're looking for something just a little more raw, you can check out the sub-forum inside Full Games called [ COMPILATIONS ]. These, like full games, are playable right from download. But they are not balanced, edited, refined or made to be a complete product in any way. They are just a bunch of characters ands stages assembled in a screen pack and uploaded. Good if you like a bit more of a chaotic vibe.

    ••  THE WAREHOUSE

    Spoiler

Lots of hoarding goes on in the Mugen world and [ THE WAREHOUSE ] is the site's hoard. There are 4 main wings, the [ CHARACTER WING ], the [ STAGE WING ], and the [ MOTIF WING ], and then finally [ THE DOCKS ].  The wings are sorted content broken up into sub-forums, or "rooms". The Docks are content that's awaiting sorting by staff.

The Character Wing's rooms are the [ MAIN ROOM ], the [ ORIGINALS ROOM ], the [ EDITS ROOM ] and the [ ANIME & TOON ROOM ]. There's also the [ PALETTES & PATCHES ROOM ] which, similar to the [ EDITS & ADD-ONS ] sub-forum in Releases, is a place where you can find upgrades for your characters like palettes and AI patches.

The Stage Wing has 4 rooms; a [ ZOOMING 1.1 ROOM ], an [ HD RES ROOM ], a [ HIGH RES ROOM ] and a [ LOW RES ROOM ] these are pretty self explanatory, except for HD Res, which indicates full RGB colored stages. Stages go into the best room that can be used to describe them, so a low res zooming stage would be in the zooming room.

The Motif Wing only has 2 rooms, currently. The first is the [ LIFEBARS & HITSPARKS ROOM ], where you can find lifebars and hitsparks to add to your screen pack. Second is the [ STORYBOARD ROOM ] which contains things game intros, logos, and game endings to help enhance your screen pack further.

    ••  IKEMEN DOJO

    Spoiler

If you're looking to download something Ikemen related, this is the place. Check out the Ikemen Dojo's [ RELEASES ] sub-forum. Most Mugen content is compatible with Ikemen, but there are some occasional compatibility issues, so this is the place to find things that have been designed for, or at least tested in Ikemen and are sure to work.

    ••  LOCATING THINGS MANUALLY

    Spoiler

If you don't feel like searching through anything, sometimes the easiest way, ironically, is to just use the search field in the top nav bar. Just type in the name of the thing you're looking for and hit enter. Or, if you want to get specific, click on the actual magnifying glass icon itself, and it'll take you to a page where you can really detail your search.

One other method for manually locating content, is to just look for a topic with a tag on it. Click the tag and you'll be given a list of all content that shares that tag.

Lastly, if you know the creator of the thing you're looking for you can click on their profile. Some creators have a section titled My Creations where they keep links to all of their own creations. Or you can click "See their activity" just below their cover photo, and then "Topics" in the left column to see all the topics they've created. You might find a release topic there.

    • LEARNING TO CREATE THINGS IN MUGEN

    Spoiler

    ••  HOW DIFFICULT IS THIS?

    Spoiler

First and foremost, if you've never done it before, creating Mugen stuff can be challenging. It depends on your previous coding experience. If you generally know what you're doing when it comes to coding, Mugen is a walk in the park. If you've never done anything coding related, making Mugen stuff is going to be difficult so buckle up.

    ••  DOWNLOAD FIGHTER FACTORY

    Spoiler

The bread and butter of Mugen creation is a program called Fighter Factory. Contrary to its name you can make more than just characters, you can make anything Mugen related. In the site's top nav bar, hover over Mugen Software, and then Tools Warehouse. Fighter Factory will be the first item on the drop down that appears. Download the latest version.

••  GET FAMILIAR WITH THE DOCS

    Spoiler

Open up your Mugen directory, and find the subdirectory named "docs". In there you'll find all the essential documentation you need for creating Mugen content. This will be a continual reference point going forward, so open up each file in here and just take a quick look at its contents. You don't need to read everything in here, just get a basic idea.

    ••  FIND A GOOD TUTORIAL

    Spoiler

This is where your path will branch depending on what you want to create, be it a character, stage, screen pack, edit etc. At this point you should know what that is, and if you don't you should figure it out. Making small edits to existing content of whatever type you choose, is the recommended first step. Once you get the hang of that, you can move into full fledged creation. Either way, finding a good tutorial is a great place to get started on either process, so check out the [ TUTORIAL LIBRARY ] and look around for something that fits your interests.

••  START A W.I.P. TOPIC FOR YOUR PROJECT

    Spoiler

Once you're ready for lift off, meaning you've downloaded Fighter Factory, you know what kind of content you want to make, you know basically what the docs contain, and you have a tutorial in hand to get you started... it's time to create your first WIP topic. WIP stands for "work in progress".

Your WIP topic will let the community know what you're working on, and people will be able to track your progress and answer questions or offer suggestions as you work. This is key not only for your own growth, but for building hype for your eventual release. Make sure to include plenty of screenshots and descriptive detail on your WIP topic, because the more people know the more they can help you. Also try to update it often, because people tend to stay engaged more with you that way.

If you get really stuck, and you can't find the answer in a tutorial, and no one on your WIP topic is able to help you, you can try asking a question in the [ MUGEN CODING ] sub-forum of P2P Help.

••  RELEASING YOUR CREATION INTO THE WILD

    Spoiler

Once you've finally finished your project, it's time to share it with the world. Or at least the site. There's an entire section of this post dedicated to how to do that properly, so I won't reiterate it here. Instead, close this spoiler, and the spoiler it's contained in and look for the topic titled "How to share Mugen stuff right".

    • HOW TO MAKE MONEY FOR SPRITING OR CODING

    Spoiler

We have a place for that, and it's the [ COMMISSIONS HUB ] sub-forum in the Mugen Lounge. Make a new topic there detailing your skills and interests, or look for an existing topic by someone looking to hire a coder / spriter / whatever skill you're offering.

Where the nuances of that get a little tricky regarding credit, copyright, payment etc, we leave most of that up to you as the person offering your skills for payment. The only time we might intervene is if we see you're doing something blatantly illegal that could be damaging to the site or the community.

    • JUST WANT TO SHARE SOME MUGEN VIDEOS?

    Spoiler

Easy, we got a place for that called [ VIDEO SHARING ]. It's a sub-forum in the Mugen Lounge, and you can share all the Mugen videos you want there. If you're going to be sharing a lot, you can start your own topic, and continually add to it. Gaining a following is a little easier that way.

    • SHARING LINKS TO OTHER MUGEN SITES

    Spoiler

Sharing and finding other Mugen related websites can be done in the [ OFFSITE COMMUNITIES ] sub-forum of Communities. You'll notice a page top feature there called the Departure Gates. If you want to recommend another forum to be included in it, there's a topic for that called Recommend a Site for the Departure Gates,

Yeah I am sure, that will be too much to handle the collections section.

I swear I'm not trying to press you at all, I just think you're misunderstanding me. I meant that you could choose either one or the other of those 2 options, not both. Like if Moltar's down I could just transfer control of the Nintendo collection alone to you without you being a section mod.

My apologies for explaining that in a confusing way. After reading back I can totally see how you got the idea that I meant both of those things, and not either or.

  11. 5 hours ago, Kanbei said:

If the Nintendo Collections is in need of a mod I can be a mod for that one? I noticed it is a mess.

That would be great, that one could certainly use some work. Only thing is we don't really have mods for individual collections, just for the collection section as a whole. So there are 2 options open to you:
1st we could contact the owner Moltar and ask if he's interested in transferring ownership of it to you.
2nd we could make you a Collections Curator, and you'd be a section mod for the collections forum, which would give you the ability to work on it and others if you wanted.

  12. INTRO TO THE SITE

    •  I'm new here, what do I do?

    Spoiler

If you want to do anything other than read and download stuff, then the first thing to do is create an account. There's a Sign Up button in the upper right corner of the site. Once you've done that you'll be allowed to join in discussions, react, share content, post status updates and participate in events that are open to all members around the site.

Once you have an account, the first thing to do is set up your profile. That's part 2 in the Site Overview topics list, and you can read / skim the other steps at this point to get a basic idea of how the site works. While you're putting it all together it's a good idea to check out the sites Guidelines too. They explain the rules and consequences in detail.

After you get that taken care of, it's on to the fun stuff. You can start by introducing yourself in the [ INTRODUCTIONS ] forum. Take a look at other peoples introductions if you're worried about how to go about it, but it's really very simple. It's just a way to say hi and let everyone know you're here so you can start meeting people.

After you've made your introduction, start exploring the site. Take a look around, see how everything works, and check the Site Overview if something is confusing. And remember, you can always check back in on the Introductions forum and welcome other new members. It's a great place to meet people because a lot of new members there are looking to make connections.

    •  I registered and introduced myself, now what?

    Spoiler

The easiest thing you can do to get settled in is just explore the site, but keep on the lookout for discussions that interest you. Feel free to comment, react and follow them using the Follow button if they interest you. That way you'll be notified of activity on that thread or forum.

That's really what keeps this place going, as simple as it is. People sharing their thoughts, ideas and feelings on subjects of mutual interest and making friends. So if you read something you like, let em know, jump into a conversation, share, have a good time. That's what happens here, we're not just a Mugen assembly line.

At this stage, I'd also recommend going back and forth between discussions / status updates, and the [ SITE OVERVIEW ] sub-forum and the Guidelines until you're really familiar with everything.

    •  Ok, I've read the site overview, and gotten involved in some discussions. What's next?

    Spoiler

At this point you're probably ready to start exploring other activities on top of just discussions. There are quite a few options available to you. Here's a few to consider:

Consider learning to create Mugen stuff. Palettes and portraits don't require much technical skill for example
Start earning awards. Visit the Award Clubs section to learn how

Earn some rep by answer questions in the [ P2P HELP ] forum. People will appreciate it!
Set up your followed content to easily keep track of the content you enjoy
Take part in some special events like voting for Character of the Month, or the writing for the Monthly Judgement
Join an Ikemen Tourney and play Mugen online against other forum members in a seasonal tournament.
Start a Collection in the [ COLLECTIONS ] forum or one of its sub-forums
