    In the midst of starting college two weeks ago, I have gotten myself together to finish up and finally release Clairen, the Flame's Salvation from Rivals of Aether!
     
     

    In addition, I have decided to reveal a secret WIP of mine I have codenamed "Obligatory". You may have already guessed it but it's better to verify, right?Anyways, I'm tired and I get my first exam this friday. Wish me luck aaaa
    Feedback, as always, is much appreciated. Especially on AI, as this is my first time working with such a thing.

    Hello everyone. I finally released yet another mugen character, but this time with blackjack and hookers lots of attacks.
    The character is mostly inspired by Postal 2.

    Hate to bump, but,
     
    Maybe his characters are just intentionally bad, and that's his style, which explains why he didn't want to improve, because that would mean getting rid of his style. If that's true, then this may just be a misinterpreted case of Stylistic Suck. (Although I don't know if that's actually true or not)

    HE'S FINALLY HERE!!
     

    Ranno, The Poisonous Pacifist from Rivals of Aether has now officially made his way into MUGEN! To be honest, I was kinda expecting people to make the RoA cast sooner thanks to their popular Steam Workshop content, with it being considered as "MUGEN except Smash-style". Nonetheless, I am proud of the work I put into my first stand-alone character and I hope you are too.

    The fact that you even don't realize what you did to get cut off from posting status updates says plenty.
     
    Those questions you just asked are fucking hilarious coming from you. It shows how much of a hypocrite you truly are. You want the community to not censor the truth as long as it's your truth, right? People decide to criticize a character and explain why it's terrible, but you have to come in and tell those people they're in the wrong for doing so.
     
    You want the truth? As you are right now, you're a cancer in the community that wants to stick to the old ways. You're a cancer that wants to prevent others from improving by denying criticism because you can't handle it yourself and want to "save" others from it. You don't even realize how harmful this actually is instead choosing to delude yourself into believing you're doing a service to the community.

    Here's the issue, you're rushing out characters, good characters take a long time to make, if you rush them out, they are gonna be full of errors, every character you released has had the same issues we've been reporting on, it's been repeated over and over, take some time away, practice, and watch tutorials, You just keep rushing characters out.

    there's a bunch of things wrong here.
     
    1. The sky is way too high up, not even Super Jump can get me there, resulting in me having to abuse an attack by disabling P2.

    2. the Delta values are awful, they are low, which makes me feel like an ant by simply walking

    3. the foot tapping is way too fast, and looks very unhuman
     
    4. the entire area is a single sprite, so it's very unnatural
     
    5. a single cloud? really? it's not even animation, you're only making a static image move, and tile
     
    6. I don't know what you did with tension/vertical follow, but it's so low you can't even see your character when super jumping.

    Be warned, this stage was not meant to be taken seriously. It was just a goof me and Joey pulled cause why not? I edited a Rivals of Aether stage and made it as accurate as I could have made it to the video, obviously at the cost of giving player 2 the disadvantage of being cornered much more easily. Whooooops... Anyway take it. Take it now.

    I decided to throw in my feedback on this... thing.
    -The walk speed is absurd.
    -At least disable the run command in the cmd file, so you won't generate debug errors everytime you try to run.
    -Michael P scream is ear rape with headphones, would it have killed to atleast lower the volume just a bit?
    -With how fast he walks, the walk sound is extremely annoying.
    -some attacks don't even have hurtboxes, allowing him to be invincibile when he attacks.
    -the launcher is pathetic, barely any speed.
    -there should only be one hit scream that plays when in air, not two.
    -the attacks are way too fast.
    -the Fox Shield is an infinite.
    -the grab is too fast, and does no damage, making it worthless to use.
    -the portrait isn't even cropped to be 120x140, so it overlays any portrait borders that don't layer over the portraits.
    -the text for you win, and perfect are binded to him so if you f1 him, the text follows'
    -the text for win and perfect are awful, filled with white pixels.
    -nice ms paint gun, isn't even the right size.
    -if you're gonna resize sprites, do it within MUGEN itself, using x,yscale 2,2 do not resize them in the sff itself, it can result in bad sprite edits.
    -the damage he does is so low, he stands no chance against anyone unless infinites are abused all the way to the end.

    Adding onto what the others said...
    - any reason why you left the filenames, including even the one for the .def, as "kfm"?
    - Backup folder is over 7 MB and just adds useless clutter. Get rid of it.
    - The hadouken isn't classified as a projectile when it should be. To do this, go to its HitDef and change "NA" to  "SP" under "attr".
    - Superjump feels very clunky. I think you should make it so the player is able to move left and right during the jump.
     
    I'll be honest here, this feels like a very elaborate joke character.

    From the looks of your post, you're trying to force a background to stay in one spot, correct? If so, there's no need for a PosAdd. Instead, you should code your background as an Explod with the bindtime set to -1.

    Forgot to mention. Ranno got some fixes over the past few days.
     
    (6/17/20) - Adjusted Ranno's "Stars of Mutiny" custom port, fixed a debug flood with Toxic Trap's finish and a bug that repeated super finish's background every time a super hit.
    (6/15/20) - How in god's name did I manage to make a typo in WINQUOTES? Fixed.
    (6/03/20) - He's got a new stun animation. Dunno how I overlooked it, but I found it when playing RoA against Dronk lmao
    (5/29/20) - Fixed a bug where the AI attempts to air block when being launched (which isn't a thing) and ends up being teleported to the ground.
    (5/28/20) - Fixed a random typo I made in the .cmd file causing Ranno to cancel JUMPING medium into STANDING heavy. Whoops.
    (5/27/20) - Fixed some AI compatability issues and Toxic Tongue because I did a bad. 😕
     
    The fixed version uses the same link, so no worries.

    JFCT doesn't have a CVS Shingo. If you're talking about the PotS Shingo with Dampir sprites, that one is an edit by Infinite. There's also 2Dee4Ever's version.
    This is the original SNK sprite from KOF 98.

    This is 2Dee4Ever's version with Capcom shading gimmicks on the palette.

    This is Dampir's version based on SNK sprites, redrawn to look like Capcom style however, resizing caused distortion on the sprites.

    This is Kyo's sprite from CVS2.

    And this is my edit. You can see the difference easier this way.

    Hello guys. I'd like to show you some stuff from my new project and I'm testing how to make a thread on this forum. I moved this thread from Sprites & Sounds to here.
    This is Shingo Yabuki from The King Of Fighters, basically a sprite edit of Kyo Kusanagi with Shingo's own unique attacks, poses and stuff.
    It's a concept for Capcom VS SNK crossover since he wasn't in any of the games.

    Honestly I don't think this is much good, there's no indication on what you're supposed to, on top of that the black background disappears when certain characters do Supers/Hypers.
     
    I think the sprites could've had black in them, because when the background disappears they are transparent and it looks really bad, also moving can be impossible at times due to how many ghosts you're dealing with, I had to use Supermystery's Sonic 2 Style Sonic to even stand a chance because everyone else could be forced to left, it feels really sloppy, overall, as the 200 is in the completely wrong direction, when fighting it as P1, the portrait looks like a bunch of poor resizes in one sprite, other than that, I guess it works, also they don't come from the side of the screen, they just pop into existence.

    To celebrate the upcoming release of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, I decided to port The Hangar from the Gameboy Color version of THPS2!
     
     
    The nostalgia and hype is through the roof for this new remake and I hope Vicarious Visions does the best they can with it. 😄
    (btw I used Venice Beach's music for this instead of the actual Hangar's music because it's a bit too slow paced for my liking.)
