Celebi's been a decent OU Pokemon for the past 3 generations straight, though, even with its typing.

Anyways, just gonna post this little tourney idea for anyone whose interested:

Hoenn Conformed

  • Only Pokemon evolution lines belonging to National Pokedex #s 252-386 are allowed
  • 4v4 Doubles Format, with best 2 out of 3 battles determining the winner
  • Single Elimination Tournament with 8 people (may increase to 16 if enough are interested)
  • Participants will be required to post battle video codes to confirm their wins/losses
  • Only Pokemon and movesets/items that are natively available in-game in Pokemon X & Y and Friend Safari are allowed, meaning anything from Pokemon Bank or Events are not allowed.
  • Sleep Clause will be in effect
  • The ability Moody is banned
  • The move Dark Void is banned (nothing that's allowed learns it anyway, so hah)
  • Duplicate Items are allowed
  • Winner will receive a 5 IV Pokemon of their choice, as long as said Pokemon can be bred.

Just for reference, here is the list of Pokemon that will be allowed. Bold will indicate Pokemon with a Mega Evolution while Italics indicate a Pokemon that is allowed due to being part of an evolutionary line native to Hoenn:

  • Mightyena
  • Linoone
  • Beautifly
  • Dustox
  • Ludicolo
  • Shiftry

Because of Mega Launcher (Mega Blastoise's ability) that essentially gives STAB to Dark Pulse, Aura Sphere and Dragon Pulse. Also makes Water Pulse 90 power, I think.

In Blastoise's case, Matt, Water Pulse's Power is actually 135 after double STAB from the ability and him being Water type.

I see does it also effect "Ice Beam" as well ?

Only 5 moves are affected by Mega Launcher: Water Pulse, Dark Pulse, Aura Sphere, Dragon Pulse, and Heal Pulse (heals 75% instead of 50%).

So no, Ice Beam is not affected, but considering how many dragon-types are 4x weak to Ice there are, its usually considered the superior option of M.Launcher Dragon Pulse:

252 SpAtk Modest MegaBlastoise MegaLauncher Dragon Pulse vs 252 HP / 252 SpDef Multiscale Dragonite:

  • 125~148 (32.38%~38.34%) (Guaranteed 2HKO)

252 SpAtk Modest MegaBlastoise Ice Beam vs 252 HP / 252 SpDef Multiscale Dragonite:

  • 180~212 (46.63%~54.92%) (Guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock)

The only dragons present that Dragon Pulse is going to outdamage Ice Beam on are Goodra, whose special defense is so massive that you have no business keeping Blastoise in, Hydreigon, who's easily taken care of by Aura Sphere and Fairies, and Kingdra. For this reason, most MegaBlastoise run either Ice Beam for Dragons or Aura Sphere for Ferrothorn. I have yet to see one that actually uses Dragon Pulse.

Wow I see, well I thought Ice beam will be good with Blastoise in his Mega form so it be more better against Grass, and Flying types but I guess its cool :goodmood:

In other news, Pokebeach just leaked some info regarding Diancie, Hoopa, and Volcanion

Diancie is Rock/Fairy, 2’04″, 19.4 lbs. #151. It is known as the Jewel Pokemon. “It can instantly create many diamonds by compressing the carbon in the air between its hands.”
Diancie’s signature move is Diamond Storm, a physical Rock-type attack. A bunch of diamonds are created and thrown at the enemy. “The user whips up a storm of diamonds to damage opposing Pokemon. This may also raise the user’s Defense stat.” It has 100 power and 95% accuracy. Diancie can also learn Moonblast, Safeguard, and Light Screen.
Diancie is not related to Carbink on its Pokedex evolution page. However it could be a Manaphy/Phione situation. Or maybe the diamonds it throws turn into Carbink after a couple million years? :p
At Level 100 with no EV training, Diancie’s stats can be 222/236/300/236/344/135.
Hoopa in Pokemon X and YHoopa is Psychic/Ghost, 1’08″, 19.8 lbs. #152. It is known as the Mischief Pokemon. “It gathers things it likes and pushes them through its loop to teleport them to a secret place.”
Hoopa’s signature move is Hyperspace Hole, a special Psychic-type attack. A dark hole is created in the ground, Hoopa goes through it, then comes out behind the enemy and hits them. “Using a hyperspace hole, the user appears next to the target and strikes. This also hits a target using Protect or Detect.” It’s got 80 power and N/A accuracy. Hoopa can also learn Psychic, Shadow Ball, and Trick Room
At Level 100 with no EV training, Hoopa’s stats can be 301/231/154/315/296/177.
Volcanion in Pokemon X and YVolcanion is Fire/Water, 5’07″, 429.9 lbs. #153. “It expels its internal steam from the arms on its back. It has enough power to blow down a mountain.”
Volcanion’s signature move is Steam Eruption, a special Water-type attack. “The user immerses the target in superheated steam. This may also leave the target with a burn.” It’s got 110 power and 95 accuracy. Volcanion can also learn Flare Blitz, Overheat, and Explosion.
Volcanion is related to the Lumiose City blackouts.
At Level 100 with no EV training, Volcanion’s stats can be 275/254/276/247/235/176.

Considering the stats that were listed and assuming max IVs and neutral natures, rough estimates of their base stats:

Diancie: 40~41/100/132/100/154/49~50
Volcanion: 68~69/109/120/105~106/99~100/70
Hoopa: 80/97~98/59/139~140/130/70~71

Thats assuming that all 6 stats have max IVs, which Im pretty sure they dont. I found it odd that all three of them had BSTs hovering around 575 instead of 600 like they usually do. Again, its just a rough estimate to give an idea of how their stat distributions are. We won't know for certain until we have more data samples.

If you want to make the assumption that all 6 stats are actually 0 IVs, go ahead and add 31 to each of those numbers I posted, which brings their BSTs up to a whopping 761 BST, which makes no sense for an event Legendary to have and even less sense for things that aren't even Mega Evolutions.
