  1. Double check to make sure that the stuff is still available in the archives first. If you got the disk space it might be best to start a fresh MUGEN and go from there leaving your current one as a backup just in case. My original DBZ roster was really a mess so back when (around 2002) I started over again to get rid of a lot of junk I really didn't want.
  2. You still around Squirtle? Anyway, for the basic stuff (punch, kick, stand, etc.) do a sff sprite swap of the animations. Work from there. I have a kind of 'coding archive' on my site that may help too later on. I've been away for quite a while again because I work 6 days a week and do laundry and pay bills on the 7th day. But things take time and if you stick with it it does eventually become easier the more you learn and the more you do. But even for me, if things ain't coming together right I take a break then come back. Sometimes it just takes a bit to sink in which is no big deal. Anyway, my site url is http://www.gohanssm.com/mugen.html if interested. Feel free to use anything there for a base if you want too or just stuff to play around with to get a feel for what goes on in a character.
  3. There can be several different causes for this. If it is an old v01,01,2000 coded character then it will be missing the 5070 states which means the 'fall down' states after getting hit are missing. Also can be a coding error where a throw or such is returning a player to state 0 instead of state 52. State 52 returns the p;ayer to the ground whereas state 0 doesn't. Caused by the physics parameter because if physics is S (stand) or C (crouch) then no velocities, but if physics is set to A (air) the the player will return to the ground afterwards. A good idea might be to turn on 'debug mode' to see what comes up when the character gets stuck.
  4. in the character's sff file is the 9000,0 or 'big portrait' and take that picture out and recolor the background behind Shin Akuma to the other color at the other end of the palette then load the 9000,0 sprite back into the sff. Oops had small portrait 9000,1 small before.
  5. There are so many people that speak so many different languages in MUGEN that you are bound to run across stuff written in korean, japanese. russian. and such which uses different characters than english. It is a case of finding out which language then translating that over. The nice part is that the 'jibberish" has no bearing on the character itself.
  6. 1 Lucina (Bikini Karate Babes) 2 Zaria (Bikini Karate Babes) 3 Uriel (Pray for Death) 4 Chun Li (any of the Street Fighter Games) 5 Thee Ace Man (MUGEN)

  8. And another overlooked character is Norimaro from Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter. Gotta repect a guy who fights with a purse
  9. I know old topic but it relates a bit to why I've been gone a while too. First good luck Ryoucchi as the motherboard death hopefully didn't affect the hard drive much. As for me, I had a 3 Terabyte external drive die while I was copying files to my hard drive and after two restarts my hard drive got messed up. My backup was on the external drive and what a mess. Took about 4 weeks to be functional again and about 6 months now to get my old stuff back. Luckily the spare drive was under warranty but still what a mess. I sympathize Ryoucchi. Luckily I had other backups but having to go through a thousand or so CDs/DVDs and trying to find the web sites of stuff that got lost from the spare drive (about 450 GB of downloads) to get stuff back is no fun. Anyway, my system is back finally with some much needed add-ons and extras. http://www.gohanssm.com/pooter.html.
  10. Ginyu from any of the Dragonball games. Nothing throws a person off more than swapping places with the opponent.
  11. Anyway. Also hope this don't get locked either. To Borewood (reminds me so much of Mike Werewolf of days gone by), I've always worked to be mediocre so asking me to 'step up' and all that doesn't work. I'm happy with what I've done and can do. Instead of worrying about others, don't worry. Just do what you can do and realize there ain't really no 'perfect' but a bunch of perfekt for sure. But all the downloaders I listen to always have the same request, "How about something different?". You never know until you try. And always up to Borewood if he wants to try or give up. Same as myself or anyone else. You can either try again or give up. Edit, oops, Honest I haven't given up, I just haven't had the time to try and move on with updating and incorporating the PSX and Sega UB/Shin Butouden games. I know Ginyu and Android 16 would be interesting to do but need time to do it plus update the old stuff for v1.1 MUGEN and all that. Way back when I left and used the excuse of 'the community' and all that, but in reality those that were close to me knew that I had had a heart problem and needed to get away from the stress (I believe razorgolem and definitely Komodo knew, not sure if I'd told Infiinma or not). We all do what we do. Nothing wrong with taking a break once in a while. You never know what may come up next. Life is life and MUGEN is just a game.
  12. Thanks. Stuff has a way of working itself out eventually. Don't sweat the small stuff.
  13. Sakuya. Not much you can do but be yourself. Just because you don't see eye to eye with someone doesn't mean you can't still be friends. But if they feel you can't be friends anymore then time to move on. If a man farts in a Wal-Mart and no one is around the corner to smell it, does it still count?
  14. You still working on updating the MKP stuff? Any snags or such?
  15. Borewood (werewolf). We really expect you to be yourself. Ain't nobody perfect or imperfect either.
  16. Just say "mom, rather than worry just call or text". But also try to remember that moms and dads don't really have much of a life outside the kids. Seriously. (edit) And part 2, get a gf that don't mind your mom calling her every so often. Your mom really doesn't want to talk to you but is waiting to dump all the old family secrets onto someone else for safekeeping.
  17. In the character's def file at the bottom are some lines that add palettes. Note, there are a few different programs that can make the act palette files but I've always used pcxpal from the old DOS MUGEN for this stuff anyway, the lines in the def file should be something like these (only using Athena instead of...) pal1 = ???.act pal2 = ??2.act pal3, pal4, etc.
  18. Thanks. Yeah, the site is still about the same as it has always been for now. My new site provider allows more than 5 html pages plus with the unlimited file size I was able to add in all the older outdated versions. Will take some time yet but I am hoping to get the coding archive section fixed and change the doc and txt files to html, but will be a while yet. I got to get up at 3 am tomorrow (and I was up at 3 am today too) for work.
  19. Aurora Kingdom, life, whatever floats yer boat. Have fun.
  20. Kinda weird thought, but the original 1.1.2000 MUGEN I got didn't have Kung Fu Man in it and you had to add him separately. The first character I added to my MUGEN was the Bojack character I started working on back when. Then I started combining games together. Then the new v6.27.2000 MUGEN came out and I started working on updating all the stuff. The first game I started with was the DBZ 2057 game and then EmuBoarding's MUGENow game then SSJ Trunks' game. I can't really remember the first character other than making my own to add in. I think my first non DBZ character was TESTP's Blue Mary. My first update add-in was kuzu-bei's Broli (v.85 I think it was). I think my first non my own was EmuBoarding's P Goku (from the Turbo Grafix 16 game).
  21. Been real busy over the last year with more drama at work than MUGEN ever dreamt of. On top of that I've been working on so many different projects that I haven't had extra time (and still don't really). I'm working on updating my music library (http://www.theeaceman.com/phonemusic.doc) as well as upgrading my computer itself (http://www.theeaceman.com/pooter.doc) in addition to working at the local airport, getting back into playing guitar, reading, riting, and rithmetic, and all that. Recently moved my book site to http://www.theeaceman.com and thenewmathbook site still up in the air (may or may not renew it depending on how things work out). How's your day going? Oops, and also, the page dedicated to "you won't get it on the first try but hang in there till you learn more" is still at http://www.gohanssm.com/mugen.html And another note, the old sites I had were limiting in what I could/couldn't do. The new sites gohanssm and theeaceman allow me a lot more freedom and with that I can FINALLY work on getting my sites back up to snuff.
  22. ...or perhaps someone could start designing characters on their own to help add some more variety. The game engine (MUGEN) does have some limitations, but, as people experiment around more those limitations are more because what makes a game unique is stuff that isn't in every game. With that said, you can adapt stuff to add in extra things but how much stuff do you really want to add to EVERY character ever made to make them completely compatible with each other. Just some thoughts. But also, some like to add something different while others just wanna 'contribute' something. Like the real world, everyone is different. , some more different than others.
