OroCrimson got a reaction from Silent Shark in MUGEN Generations Screenpack for 1.1 (HD 1280 x 720) by OroCrimson
WARNING: This Screenpack only works with MUGEN version 1.1 set up with a 1280 x 720 resolution! This screenpack comes packaged with MUGEN 1.1.
Update 07/21/2022: An upgraded version made for IKEMEN Go can be found here!
My labor is complete!
At least, for now. I might come back some day and make it more exciting, as it's nothing particularly spectacular right now.
So here's what this is, I wanted to make a MUGEN build, that I called Generations, and I wanted it to be in HD. Or at least, in widescreen. But I also wanted a Category screenpack.
And then I discovered that there are no HD Category screenpacks. At least, not that I can find.
Eventually I said "Screw it, I'm going to just learn how to make my own."
And then I spent the last three nights straight putting this together! My first screenpack!
I actually forgot to eat for the entire middle day. ^.^'
I must say though, 1.1's PNG support sure makes things a whole lot easier.
I present this all to you, as I figure I'm probably not the only one who'd have interest in a screenpack such as this.
-------------------
Screenpack has 300 slots per category for up to 4800 character slots (one category is a hidden "Secret" category). If aesthetic isn't a concern, there are two blank rows that can theoretically have characters placed in them too, as well as the Random row, for a total maximum amount of 5700 characters.
The Screenpack comes pre-installed onto 1.1 and includes 1 KFM in each category for quick testing of the Select Screen. The Select Screen is also numbered to keep track of the 300 slots in each category. Feel free to be remove either feature.

OroCrimson reacted to uaguilar in Online Marvel vs Cacpom: Maximum - 3 years in the making so far
Hello everybody, I want to share what I been working on very hard for over 3 years. This game was made for me personally and did what I can to make the best mvc game of all time for me and my friends to play, but then later in the end decided to share it with the world. My goal was simple but a lot of work... gather up the straight up BEST mvc chars by some of the best creators/editors in the mugen community, and edit every single one of them (or most of them). And have a TRULY INFINITE Marvel vs Capcom game that can be played online competitively, with the usual concepts of team building and finding characters that have good synergy with one another... and after all the years of work, YES the game can now be played competitively like this. I been playing it online for a year now and have met some players who been able to play long sets of high level matches without constant interruptions of bugs and game crashes. It will still happen but it'll be very rare, so Shift +f4 is still a helpful button to restart a match. But yes, I consider the game now to be officially playable even in the hands of someone who likes to play MvC competitively like myself. Don't expect a corporate made perfect game by a whole development staff, But i did work on this alone for a long time, almost every single day in fact. What also needs to be considered is that I have a personal life to live too and to support, so I just focus on fixing gameplay, and don't focus on changing everyone's hitsparks and super backgrounds etc or other minuscule stuff. I just seriously do not have time for all that, and I really hope everyone can understand.
Fixing bugs is the #1 priority, and everyone being able to play mvc style with good gameplay is also #1 priority. I fix everything that needs to be fixed, like mobility, broken moves, broken coding, and re-code and re-animate many of the unfinished characters like Daredevil, Elektra, and Leon for example. While some chars are very well completed and don't need much help, Many characters that have cool sprites but are not complete and some can't even do basic air combos or even supers correctly, have now been fixed and edited by me to actually feel completed, and they are now very awesome to play as. Even characters by RedHot who is a very good mvc2 editor, his characters needed help as well. Characters like Wolverine, Venom and others could not do their bread and butter combos well, but now they do. My guarantee is that you can play this game at a high level. I also worked really hard in starting a online community for MvC Maximum so players can communicate about the game and find people to play with.
This game was made for myself and for my friends.
But it got so good, that towards the end I decided to share with the rest of the world.

OroCrimson reacted to IDGCaptainRussia in Potentially removing Mugen Archive from our site blacklist?
Respectfully corrected, very good points, I've mostly only been watching from the side lines and making rational judgement from what I've seen so what I say can't be taken with ut-most truth.
I am sorry for thinking Dizzy might have had more than 60 IQ, but pulling strings or not, he's still got power he can easily abuse.
Still, that power is not the same power running the archive, and is NOT the same as those leading it. And seeing as Dizzy values money gain and greed so dearly to unban paying users, it would make sense that the techies and the ones really pulling the strings behind the archive only put up with him because the operation pays out well enough.
As far as all of "those" people are concerned, it "works" and shouldn't changed as it benefits them; this is where the problems arise with all other parties involved.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: The archive isn't bad in of itself, it's just as a power hungry narcissist at the helm of it all. If it wasn't for Dizzy and the archive had proper leadership, it could very well be one of MUGEN's largest boons to ever exist... Like it used to be years ago when it was first founded... We can only hope that won't be just a memory from a bygone era.
Clock is ticking @sero, try to be respectful and reasonable when you do explain, I mean we're all doing it for you when really, we shouldn't be... But we're better people than Dizzy.
And one thing we do is give the benefit of the doubt; an act of mercy on our part and chance of self-vindication on yours.

OroCrimson reacted to Milbury in Potentially removing Mugen Archive from our site blacklist?
As far as I can tell, the phone verification thing doesn't even have anything to do with the Mugen Archive's discord, although Dizzy's spam/DDOS campaign against MFFA back in April and you guys's response to it might have been where he got the idea. Spam actually isn't even half the problem on MA that Dizzy would like people to think it is, most spammers on MA are actually welcomed by him since they provide a constant stream of the MUGEN equivalent of clickbait to net MA more of that precious traffic. When I made that post bringing up the concern of Dizzy doing this phone verification thing to harvest data, I wasn't actually sure that was his aim, I just wanted to bring it up since it's one of those things that everyone in that thread was thinking but no one actually wanted to say out of fear of getting banned by Dizzy. I knew him losing his shit and banning me was a possibility, and the fact that he did tells me my gut instinct about his intentions was right. People don't freak out over bullshit accusations, they freak out when someone hits too close to home.
Yup, I've been on Dizzy's shitlist since 2017 for calling him out on how he handled the Cesarsombra/Cesarshadow thing (his mods permabanned the guy for hate speech against myself and others, but Dizzy reversed it because Cesar donates a portion of his autismbux to MA every month). I've tried to give the dude the benefit of the doubt, even after the community weekends (a thing I'm mostly sure by now he does just to screw with his new users for the fun of it) and his driving off several of my good friends on that side. The dude's got obvious mental health issues and I tried to take that into account for the longest time, but after I did some digging and found out about his past and BladeArt and the scummy things he did under that name, I just completely lost any trace of anything even remotely resembling respect for the guy.
One thing that you and the other people who were burned by the Mugen Archive years ago can take comfort in: Dizzy is absolute and completely obsessed with you guys. Like, honest-to-god, malignant paranoid narcissist levels of obsessed. It's one of the first thing I noticed about him, he's talking about "his haters" constantly, I believe the phrase "living rent free in the head" was coined for people like him. It's even kinda funny in a sad way, he makes enemies for himself with his antisocial jackass behavior, then obsesses over those enemies and abuses his members because he thinks they're possible enemies/enemies in disguise, thereby creating more actual enemies for himself, and on and on it goes. The best thing that could happen to the Mugen Archive would be if the person actually keeping it afloat (Justice would be my guess) realized how toxic Dizzy is and kicked his useless ass to the curb. Everything else about the site runs like a top, it's just Dizzy himself that's the problem.
Please don't get the wrong impression from my post. Dizzy's not pulling any strings, he doesn't have the brains for it. He's more the figurehead of MA, a moron who gets the front-facing work while the real brains behind the site keep it running from the background. If you want an idea of what kind of brain trust you're dealing with in Dizzy, read this post about incompetent Amazon managers. Because that's all Dizzy is, an incompetent warehouse manager constantly throwing bad ideas at a wall to see if any of them stick. MA is successful despite Dizzy, not because of him (being the only warehousing game in town since the death of Mugen Infantry also helps).
I can give you one: this guy (who is either one of Dizzy's pet speds or yet another sock for Dizzy/BladeArt himself) is so nuts that he should absolutely be allowed to speak freely. Let this loon tell the world exactly the kind of mentality that supports Dizzy of the Mugen Archive. Go on, @sero, tell us more about how anyone who speaks out against your master should have their bones broken. Tell us all about what you and Dizzy would do to anyone who dares criticize the almighty jackass in chief of the Mugen Archive if only you and him had any actual power outside of his sad little Internet fiefdom.

OroCrimson reacted to RicePigeon in Potentially removing Mugen Archive from our site blacklist?
Someone brought up the phone verification thing in another discord a few days ago, so I'll sum up what I said then.
Dizzy's claim that their discord server is lively is, frankly, bullshit. Unless the MA staff is actively deleting 90%+ messages on a daily basis, the activity that I've witnessed there is very minimal, if not 0, with only a few messages every other day or so. While I can't speak about implementing phone verification on their forums & site as a whole since this is news to me, I can speak from experience that phone verification, at least on Discord, does almost nothing to stop spam attacks. In the aftermath of the DDoS we received in early April, we elevated the security to require phone verification and, while this stopped spam accounts from posting messages in our discord, it did nothing to stop them from saying what they wanted to say by making their user name the message, many of which were targeting the same individual. In the meantime, several legitimate accounts were negatively affected by this and unable to access our discord server either because they were unable or unwilling to disclose a cell phone number for verification purposes, some going far as citing privacy concerns (and rightfully so); this led to us creating a workaround by granting known users a dummy "approved" role so they wouldn't be affected by this change, which we eventually rescinded because of the undue burden it was putting on legitimate users while doing nothing to stop the influx of spam accounts, and I have no doubt in my mind that something similar could happen to MA if they do decide to go through with this.
Of course, if Dizzy is adamant on implementing this feature, he is either unable or (most likely) unwilling to take these negative repercussions into account.
EDIT; Seeing as this thread seems to be going in the direction of a general MA discussion thread, I'll be allowing the posting of MA links here for the purposes of providing context.

Yup, that's me. You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation.
I am the head admin of the MUGEN Database. I blacklisted MA on the MUGEN Database as a source for downloads due to their use of adf.ly at the time and the security risks associated with it, and was banned on MA for writing a single silly quip on MFG, like many others at the time.
A good while later, certain quotes from the Database Discord were taken out of context regarding MA's pestering of Capcom for money, of which MA (or to avoid blaming the entire site, Sol) saw as a threat on Dizzy's life (note: 'Dizzy should be removed', which was referring to the user's position, not existence) and made a thread about it on MA. Certain people questioned whether Sol had misunderstood, though someone brought up the possibility of these people being my alts, also leading to the person who originally stated 'Dizzy should be removed', DoomBowser, being accused of being my alt. When Dizzy joined the MFFA Discord to tell everyone how evil of a person I am, I explained the whole situation to them as being a huge misunderstanding and posted the original conversation in full, of which Dizzy acknowledged before making a passing statement of how childish we are; it's a pity that despite knowing this, they still continue to parade Sol's original assumption as the truth.
To this day, Dizzy persists in claiming I'm trying to divide the entire MUGEN community for my own benefits by instigating a war on MA, as well as flooding sites and Discord servers with alts to convince people to join me. Both statements are a load of nonsense with no evidence to back them up.
2007 was when what's known as creators' rights was in full swing, which is when stuff in this community was pretty stupid. In short, using code snippets, sprites, and other content from other characters deemed 'closed-source' by the creator was considered stealing, and a lot of forums enforced this to the point of policing releases and banning people who were caught doing such, not to mention the amount of flak you'd get from everyone; in addition, warehousing was despised and creators would actively try to get any rehosted versions of their content taken down.
It was dark times, Harry Flare. Dark times.

"The MUGEN ARCHIVE does not sell or trade any user information to any third party. "
when you say they sell your info without proof, it's called defamation
and when covered by admins (who claim that asking for a proof = trolling = ban) , it's called organized crime
mffa is a criminal site
why do I bother tho, this post will be deleted to cover up the hate hive mind
why do I bother tho, no one ever turned into a well educated person upon being told they're little thugs
why do I bother tho, no one ever regained their sanity upon being told they're batshit craze
one thing bothers me tho, mugen archive is being way to soft ... their "haters gonna hate" or "don't fed the trollz" stance is way too soft, if not bollocks
you can't stop criminals with flowers, you've got to break their fucking bones to stop them
mugen archive ought to have loads of money and money is power, why they don't use that power to destroy you is beyond me
is it because they don't take you seriously ? I don't know but it's time to harden up
I've posted an article on the matter : www.reddit.com/r/mugenguild/comments/bu49vi/my_personal_thoughts_about_the_mugen_wars/
The main point is the internet is a lawless place when mental retards can get away with anything till they get someone killed. That's why I think mugen archive needs to harden up and break you once and for all because it's clear brutality is the only thing you could ever understand.
and I would hate being entirely off topic
this whole thread is a bad joke, banning mugen archive for adfly (which they don't even have) and yet adfly links are all over mffa, and yet you didn't blacklist yourself? go figure, just a big fucking joke for whoever is stupid enough to buy it
