miru reacted to HelloMyNameIsAAA in MUGEN Vault: Talking About MUGEN And Its Community (JudgeSpear Youtube Community)
For some reasons, I like writing about random stuff. This is why I want to talk about something that happened 10 years ago, the JudgeSpearer era in Youtube.

Remember that despite I Iook into forums and Youtube videos in order to find sources, there is a possibility that I could be wrong in certain subjects. This is why you colud threat those essays as any MUGEN creations, as those could receive feedbacks for possible improvements.

Anyways, let's finish this small introduction and begin with the subject, which is possibly the main cause why I know MUGEN for so long (almost 10 years). I call it...

    The JudgeSpear Youtube Community

Youtube was a revolutionary item for the Internet. With this website, anyone could easily create a random video and posted it to be shown to the general public.  It wasn't owned by Google, whose ownership caused pain and chaos ! It was also clear that Youtube would be used to showcase various MUGEN fights. There was one user that was not necessary a masterpiece, but somewhat memorable enough to be talked about; Judgespear  He was mostly present form 2006 to 2009. He created a lot of MUGEN videos, and some of them, such as his Homer vs. Peter, gained at least 1 million views. In case you are wondering, the linked video was an archive whose original got taked down by a copyright strike long ago that took down all JudgeSpear videos ! This is a proof that Youtube wasn't a paradise back then.  During the early Youtube, JudgeSpear codified the typical MUGEN series, and inspired a lot of other users to copy its style. He did have a forum based around him, called JSMugen, which sadly got removed form the Internet. To understand why JudgeSpear got a community based around him, I am going to talk it in general and the fads it spawned.

    The VariousMUGEN Series
    MUGEN Teams

Most MUGEN Youtubers used a small set of characters and create a team around  them. They like to nickname their members such as ''The Chef, The Beserker'' and the likes.

You can do a lot of things with your team members as long it is done inside MUGEN. Usually,  the most common video showcased 1vs1 matches that featured a player controlled team member, fighting a troublesome opponent.

They usually have a title like this: ((Video Author) (Player controlled character) (Serial Number) (Character that he fights against)). Here is an example.

Obviously, such videos aren't limited to 1vs1. Team members fight alongside allies for 2vs2 or turns based goodness, make a run in Survival mode, or is featured in other specialized MUGEN series such as those described below.

Another interesting thing about MUGEN teams is that some video creators  initiate their new members, like in some sort of indian ritual. The newcomers fought a designated character, which lost, and become a full-fledged member for future uses.

    Cheap Character Beatdown

MUGEN players really don't like getting beat unfairly. This is why we like to give them a taste of his own medicine, by destroying them in one of the most famous series of this era.  A character, designated as a ''cheap buster'' , defeats various overpowered characters. They have problems such as rage-inducing AI, bloated stats, unblockable attacks, spammable specials, always dodges/counter your moves, beeping your microwave and anything else that could piss off human players. A famous ''cheap buster'' is Metool, a mook from the Megaman series, which can protect itself perfectly from all attacks by hiding inside its signature helmet, and can summon a giant Metool, which is generally a OHKO, complete with an alarm sound and a flashing OWN3D! . When you heard that siren, somebody is going to be down !

    Retarded Character  Beatdown

This way another popular MUGEN series but curiously enough, wasn't started by Judgespear himself. It possibly has its roots in an Ampchu video in a fight against Actarus's Peter Griffin, He is described as "more retarded that Omega Tiger Woods", the latter is a a legit joke character. It doesn't take a genius that various people started doing "Retard Beatdowns". It is basically whay it says on the tin. We bascially beat up poorly-made characters. Unlike the "Cheap Beatdowns" videos, you probably won't need to use a powerful character like Metool to beat those retards, as they mostly lacks AI, but since some of them have bloated stats to compensate the abscence of a brain, you keep it in some special cases.

    Everyone hates "X
    "

There is always some catharsis fun when seeing various fictional characters performing a powerful attack against hated suckers. This is the whole premise of the "Everyone hates X" videos. It started in a blooper video when JudgeSpear tried to do an survival run with Homer Simpson. He fought against CCI's Prince Vegeta, and taunted him because Saiyans really don't like having their pride damaged by a fat guy. Cue Vegeta responding with an barrage of attacks, culminating with a final flash, hilariously ending his run.  People find it funny so JudgeSpear and his fans started their own videos starring Homer Simpson, usualy taunting a random fighter. He then unleash a Special or Hyper against him, defeating him. While Homer is usually picked, they have done the same fate against cheap characters, retardeds, and so on.

Alternatively, they have done the same fate against logos which are punching bags, because said company were invovled in copyright strikes against MUGEN Youtubers.

They are also some lesser memes, such as the "Spin attack" fad, or those "Special Challenges", but they don't need a special treatement. Also a common thing about MUGEN videos is that their authors often put an small intro before the fight. You do fell 2008 Youtube when watching these !

    And now for some criticism

While the JudgeSpear community have taken a huge part of the MUGEN community in Youtube, not everything is pure white and have its detractors. These  two thread, regardeless of context, definively show some disdains against this sub-community. Too bad I couldn`t explore the JSMugen for clues because it no longer exists.  Anyways, by judging the MugenGuild thread  and the various videos in Youtube I could possibly find some explainations.

Too many characters from popular media

Because MUGEN allows everyone to create all kinds of fighters, it is become obvious that some creator would recreate characters from popular media such those from Nintendo or Sega  games or from popular TV shows such as The Simpson or Family Guy. It is also not a surprise that those fighters become extremely popular in MUGEN videos, as they are very appealing to a younger audience. That do not means that they are not necessary well-made or even good. This is the case with Warner's  Homer Simpson (or most of his creation, but I will probably tell its history later), which was originally an Iori spriteswap, and has to be edited by JudgeSpear himself in order for it to feel less than a spriteswap. If you look at his MUGEN's intro (See above), you would see, Homer, Peter, Jigglypuff and Chansey from Pokémon, Goku and Perfect Cell from DBZ, Yoshi and Predator Warrior.  More that half of the characters shown in this intro are popular characters from mainstream media. The rest consisted of Kung Fu Man, Iori Yagami, Amingo from MvC, Elena from the Street Fighter III, and Johnny Maximum from World Heroes. Other Youtubers would try to use more, well, characters from fighting games or something obscure, but they would still use at least some fan-favorites of Homer Simpson fame.  Maybe this is good for attraction but popular characters does not really represent MUGEN as a whole.

Even today most popular MUGEN videos featured characters that were popular in the past. Other videos included fighters from big fandoms (Undertale, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic...) and NSFW stuff. We don't change a winning formula.

    Too much character bashing

Character bashing is extremely present in the MUGEN community. They don't play well and are very glitchy, but I will mainly focus on the "Cheap Character Beating " fad that was present during the JudgeSpear era. The basic idea was solid. We use lethal joke characters, such as Metool or Dopefish, to defeat broken fighters. JudgeSpear himself said that this series was comedic and not to be taken seriously. Then, everyone and its pet goldfish are doing their own "cheap characters basing" series, effectively turning it into "bashing character you didn't beat" and losing much of its comedic value. It doesn't help that they use cheap characters, or cheap tactics, to  lend them to victory. We have a very obvious case of hypocrisiy. Add that years later with the birth of SaltyBet, where cheap characters are seen somewhat favorably because they can put a good fight and often destroy the oppresion.  Today, doing this sort of video is the equivalent of beating a dead horse.

A character being cheap doesn't mean it is not well made. Heck, most of its problems would be "removed" it you purge its AI. The most know case of this is Reu, the author who made the Evil duo, and the original Dragon Claw. They are very good, but they have very aggresive AI and they got Metool's wrath because of that. It took his fucking death for his characters to be beloved and respected by all. There are probably more examples but they are debatable. Also, most cheap characters are made because of rule of cool, rule of funny, or just for the sake of watch mode.

For the case of "retarded characters", there isn't much to say because if you put garbage on the Internet, you could be critisized for it. Today, it is mostly done by kids with the intent to bash each other, leading to popcorn grabbing. A more well made recent series is "Dumanios takes out the trash", for starter.

Sometimes, someone don't like seeing their beloved characters getting beat, and it will lead to...

    ...loads of drama.

The MUGEN community has its fair share of drama that are mostly done in public in hope of getting attention. Not even the JudgeSpear community is safe from this.  It held a banlist that forbid usage of cheap characters for team creation, unless that character that it is a cheap buster, and there is debates regarding if a specific character should be put on the banlist or not, and this cause problems if it has a huge following. Other subject of discords included various talks about ethics and moral issues regarding MUGEN works, but these are shared among other communities, and could still be an issue today. A drama regarding a specific character was Choiyer's Haruhi Suzimaya. She is near-cheap, but is widely used by some users and apparently has a lot of haters. Then, she got an update that added questionable moves and greatly added fuel to the fire. When people bash Haruhi or even just defeating her in a fair match, there will be some fanboys or fangirls who shouts profanities, clashing with those enjoying the beating, causing some flame wars.

MUGEN dramas were one of the reason why JudgeSpear quit the community, besides copyright strikes against him, as probably seen in this quote. Apparently, JudgeSpear himself has a lot of haters, probably due to massive overexposure, and it is also one reason why people hate its fandom. He admitted to have bad behaviors, especially against trolls, as seen in the MugenGuild thread.

I seriously fell that this part could be much bigger, as dramas affected all MUGEN communites. Good information are welcome.
    Conclusion ?

Maybe this is something that should be forgotten but there are people who heard about JudgeSpear but doesn't know who he is. In general, the JudgeSpear Youtube community is a denser and wackier approach of MUGEN but got too big for various veterans' taste. While it was a popular way to showcase MUGEN videos, it could be done without having it in your own computer as the engine could be used for simulating popular match-ups that weren't flash animations from Newgrounds. Maybe a huge community based around the thought of a single person wasn't the best thing for MUGEN but it did introduce the engine to a bigger audience before SaltyBet, fandoms and modern gaming channels did the same. Some of its fads still persist today becauase they worked before. As a kid, I used to watch a lot of JudgeSpear videos, and this is probably why I inform you about it, and that talking about something that was the thing 10 years ago  probably leads to nostalgia for some of us.

Fell free to talk about the JudgeSpear community if you want.

Multispiderman. The icon showed a lot of promise, as a Spidey with multiple modes. Guess what? He just changes costumes in his idle animation repeatedly, and is also too similar to Zvitor’s version.

There aren't many creators whose stuff I don't recommend, largely because I try to keep an open mind and try to find positive things. Take Joey Faust, for example.

While I do greatly appreciate the fact that he made characters from Time Killers and BloodStorm for MUGEN, what I don't like is how shoddy the controls are... I also happen to be a HUGE stickler for character accuracy. If you're converting a character from an arcade game, the best idea is to attempt to make it as close to 1:1 as possible. This way, a new player can jump in with said character and not feel lost... The moves the character has in MUGEN are the same as the character in the original game. This makes the transition far easier for the player.

I get that the creations were for his fan game... but, considering that his fan game uses the MUGEN engine as well, wouldn't it make sense to try and to get it closer to a 1:1 conversion?

Yeah, a MUGEN game like that would be cool though.
Another cartoon character that I would love to see in MUGEN is Bloom from Winx Club.:

Given how popular the Winx Club franchise is (especially in its' homeland of Italy and most other non-English speaking parts of Europe), I'm surprised that nobody has ever even attempted to make her or any of the other members of the Winx Club as MUGEN characters.

Same here, especially the "POTS-style" chars. I liked them when thi started but later got oversaturated of them, and not just Capcom chars, even toon or stickman chars have POTS-style, which makes me reject this "CVS-like" gameplay for real. Not to mention my intent to jump into the bandwagon with Rose and other chars I tried to make in this style, but I couldn't manage it and later stand it, so I ditch out this template from my chars for good.

Anyway, I still enjoying some creators with this style like DivineWolf, but not much as before as said above

More DanganRonpa characters. Preferably Celestia and Peko. With fatalities and compatibility. The way that they killed their victim and their own Executions would be good Fatalities. Mahiru would be a nice character too, in order to recreate her death in the game.

Also, how about more 3D fighter characters, ripped or recreated. Preferably the SEGA ones like Last Bronx.

You know, the Supergirl by Toni might make a good base for Tara, as would April from Tournament Fighters Genesis.

I, for one, believe that Larke Tanner would be easy to create when using these bases: Cammy, Yuri Sakazaki, Jubilee.
I also think that He-man would be a good base for Thundarr 😄

I'm honestly baffled that nobody has created a Stitch (from Disney's Lilo & Stitch) character yet given his popularity (especially in Japan) and no, that one Jedi Stitch character doesn't count.

Also, I would love to see Isobel from the Korean-Japanese animated series Turning Mecard/Mecard join MUGEN as well. I feel like she could some potental for a great moveset with her Mecardimals at hand.

I happen to know two feisty redheads that might work for Mugen:

    Helen Bennet from “Bionic Six”.
I know what you’re thinking. But if Numbuh 3 can be first from her series to go to Mugen, so can Helen ?

Tara Boumdeay from “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes”.
She can be one of those transforming characters. Tara can sprinkle herself with salt and become a “tomato monster”, then Chad (whom will be her helper) will sprinkle pepper on her so she can return to human form ?

I don't mind either as long as they're enjoyable to play, it just changes a character's playstyle, it also depends on the author's decision and whether they want their character to be source accurate or custom to their own moves, which brings in more opportunities for creative move sets.

In my eyes Mugen is a real fighter, it has balance, you just need to have a balanced roster. It's the only game where I can play as Astreaea, and aside from popular anime and video game characters it has many other unique and original creations you won't see anywhere else. It's something that brings out the creative minds in all of us with the amount of customization, it's like the fighting game version of Minecraft or the Sims basically.

Build a roster, make stages, create characters and deliver for the community, that is Mugen's true goal. With classic characters like Ryu, awesome fancharacters like Think, and obscurities like Wu-Ling. Mugen changed my life and look on fighters.

There's so much potential it has, but some just don't believe so. Mugen is infinite, no limit to the amazing things you can do. It's a true gift to the fighting game community IMO. When you don't download all the OP nonsense, one's Mugen roster is viable to a real fighting game roster.

It all matters on what you like. And lastly if you think Mugen's not a real fighter, why are you even here, this site is a Mugen online community, we're all one big family.

miru reacted to Doomguy in If your Mugen roster was a story, who would the main protagonists and antagonists be?
STORY: A rift is opened up in response to the destructive battle between the Eternal and Dark Champions. The cosmic force generated is enough to tear apart and merge several separate continuities and universes to create a single multiverse, which now houses the remnants of all that survived the blast. In the confusion and chaos, the Eternal Champion (who has survived his fight) attempts to rebuild civilization to balance the scales of chaos and order. However, while the Dark Champion is no more, several other villains see the newly-created multiverse as a new land to conquer.
Shao Kahn, the former Emperor of Outworld, intends to use new knowledge of power and relics of the old continuities (before the merger, said knowledge was exclusive to their respective universe/continuity) to gain enough power to destroy the Eternal Champion and conquer the multiverse.
General M. Bison (AKA, Vega in Japan), a dictator from the old Earth, finds himself targeted by Kahn and his followers. In order to stop his new nemesis, he seeks out a man named Rugal Bernstein; someone who was mentioned by an interrogated assassin. Hoping to create an alliance, M. Bison will do whatever it takes to kill Kahn and take over the new lands.
Deathstroke is the only survivor of the now annihilated DC Universe. His skills grabbed the interest of Shao Kahn, who wants Deathstroke to become the leader of his forces. With an entire army at hand, Deathstroke's mission is to wipe out anyone against Kahn's mission and capture the people who either have anything of great importance or know about how to obtain it.
Wrapped in a shroud of mystery, Count Dracula and his legendary castle have survived the merger unscathed. Showing up once again in what would appear to be ruins of a war-torn New York City, Dracula already knows of the plots of people like Shao Kahn. His mission is to either lure anyone of importance to his side, or destroy them. However, he also knows of the survival of the Belmont lineage... and what that means for the fate of himself and the whole multiverse.
Rugal Bernstein is still a very powerful man, with connections spread all across the multiverse. He finds himself (along with M. Bison) hunted by Shao Kahn. He is hunted for his knowledge of the Power of Orochi, while M. Bison is being hunted for having the Psycho Drive. Rugal plans on betraying Bison and using the Psycho Drive against Kahn.
While his body is destroyed, his spirit is not. Geese Howard once again rises with power absorbed from the destroyed Dark Champion. He is completely hidden from Shao Kahn's forces, and with an immense power within himself, he will use said power to steal power from all the underlings of Orochi, the people who keep him under seal, and even Orochi himself.
Orochi, while currently trapped under seal, is a key character in the convoluted story of conquest. Once he is free of his bonds, he plans to destroy all opposition and absorb the immortal Eternal Champion's power and rule the multiverse.
With the advent of these mad villains and the destruction of the Elder Gods (from the merger), Lord Raiden gathers the surviving heroes of the old continuities. Teaming up with the Eternal Champion, Raiden is informed of the relics and that can be used by Shao Kahn to rule the multiverse. Knowing of the demon called Orochi, Raiden seeks out most powerful warriors from the old continuities to fight Shao Kahn and create peace multiverse... by any means necessary. Several universes and former continuities have been destroyed completely, meaning that some of the most dangerous forces of good (and evil) have already been erased from existence. Luckily, Raiden is able to create a formidable defense against the forces of Darkness. Led by Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, Curtis Stryker and Sub-Zero, these forces are the only people who can stop Shao Kahn and the other evils of the multiverse.
Kyo and Saisyu Kusanagi, Terry and Andy Bogard, Ryo Sakazaki, Kim Kaphwan, the Ikari Warriors, and varying others from the SNK continuity/universe are survivors who will aid Raiden against Rugal and Orochi. Other "alternate continuity" versions of these people also have appeared to aid Raiden, including Kyoko Kusanagi and the mysterious Wind.
Ryu, Ken, Zangief, Guile, Charlie, Sakura, Dan, Chun-Li and Cammy are the only surviving heroes from the Street Fighter continuity/universe. Akuma (AKA Gouki in Japan), has been spotted as a neutral warrior in the struggle, and a few others have been seen as commanders under Shao Kahn and M. Bison. Sagat is nowhere to be seen as of yet.
Alucard and Julius Belmont have been collaborating with Raiden in an effort to destroy the resurrected Dracula and his castle. However, Raiden sees the Belmont's power as an asset that can be taken by Shao Kahn. If his power is lost to the former Emperor, their efforts may become fruitless.
Chuck Norris, having been impacted from the merging of realms and universes, has been reduced to being mortal once again. Seeking out the Eternal Champion, he wishes to resurrect the late Bruce Lee to team up and wipe out the forces of evil. His skills and weapons rival that of Deathstroke, as they have encountered each other before.
The balance of chaos and order has been broken, the deaths of many heroes has impacted the possibility of a positive outcome, and time is running out. Many fighters are wildcards in this struggle, and the forces of evil overshadow those fighting on the side of good. The final battle draws near...

CANON ENDING: Shao Kahn, having conquered much of the known multiverse, has killed off numerous hero's (and annihilating Dracula's Castle) in a battle at the former NYC. Orochi has been awakened once again, and Dark Champion Geese's soul has been absorbed by Kahn. Raiden was finally destroyed by Kahn, and the Eternal Champion flees with the surviving ally's. Rugal Bernstein and M. Bison, realizing the threat that Kahn poses, make a Thanatos Gambit by allying themselves with the Eternal Champion. Chuck Norris, having overpowered Deathstroke, forms a rebel group with fellow survivors Guile, Charlie, Stryker, and the remaining Ikari Warriors. Rescuing Johnny Cage, they make contact with the Eternal Champion. Now gathered as one, they collaborate to resurrect the late Bruce Lee, which drains the Eternal Champion of a fraction of his power. The group then attack the demon Orochi, and quickly overpower him. They then make one final attempt to storm Kahn's fortress, and attempt to destroy him and his empire once and for all. They were successful in clearing out the first section of the mammoth fortress, but they also discover the remains of Alucard and a critically wounded Julius Belmont. A surprise attack by Kahn kills the last of the Belmont lineage, and Kahn absorbs his soul, becoming even more powerful. With a sudden surge of power, he destroys the Eternal Champion and challenges the remaining fighters to a duel they have little hope of winning...

A lot of this content is a big chunk of Electrocaid's MUGEN Museum, which was sent to a friend of mine for bug-testing years ago. He sent that to me, lost it in an HDD crash, so for a long time it's just been me who's had it. I wouldn't have to upload this myself if Electrocaid would do the proper thing for the community and share the whole Museum with the masses. All he has to do is go to archive.org and just upload the whole thing, and it would be like saving the Library of Alexandria. I respect him immensely, and I do hope he takes initiative and listens to me when I say this, but this content belongs to the people. For a long time, I thought about how to present this content in a way to show off, but I realized it's not about the glory, it's about preservation. I hope you enjoy the content, there's some real lost gems in here. Please don't let this pack fade away, keep distributing it, keep it preserved. You all have a citizen's duty as, now, some of you are even by and large the "old guard" now. You have a responsibility to keep sharing content publicly, to keep it in the hands of those that can appreciate it. To everybody who thinks hiding content, making it "private", and just generally being a stingy douchebag with things people made instead of giving them to the masses is a cool thing; if you know me, I've made it loud and clear what my convictions are on the matter, but for those who don't remember, I'll refresh you.

This is literally my tenth goddamn year posting on MUGEN forums. I've seen most of it go around and come around and I've been around longer than a lot of you, so fucking take me seriously on this when I say it's important. Information belongs to the people. Those who seek to restrict people's access to information, for whatever reason, should go fuck themselves. It's anti-art, it's anti-human, it's anti-society, to keep things to yourself out of your own greed, or due to the arbitrary social conditions the community has fostered unto itself. You shouldn't get to decide what gets saved in history, and if you think you should, you're an insufferable douche. Do the right thing.

This'll probably be the last real MUGEN thing I do, and it's been a long time coming as I've been sitting on this content for years, but it's time I live up to my end of the bargain and give it to those who can make the most use of it. You know, what a rational human being should do with scarce, endangered content. But enough about me, I hope you enjoy, sincerely. It probably took longer than it should have because I was waiting for data storage to play catch-up. I don't stay gone forever, I can't help always poking my head in, so I won't say this is a final goodbye, but, I'm doing this so I can have this out into the world, off my conscience, a retirement if you will. I will probably post more content one day because I do have stuff that needs backing up, this is just the compressed copy of my master folder. Knowing it's safe through being out in the wild is what I need to be able to dot the Is, cross the Ts, and close the book on this off-and-on decade-long fixation of mine with this stupid, brilliant 17-year-old piece of shit game engine.

Well, without further ado. Shout out to Laxxe23, the most pathetic insufferable neckbeard loser I ever unfortunately encountered in this community who probably shoved me into my crazy radical preservationism to begin with out of spite, and, most importantly, to my boys back at The Hidden Elect, I love you guys, your spirit is what made this possible, and you're alive with me. Bang.

Lita Luwanda = Every striker of Kof, and many other npcs from that series have been made, so why not her? She seems like an awesome character, with a sword, knife, and of course, strikers. Perhaps stuff based on African Fighting arts and Cammy’s movepool?

Genuinely good Minecraft Steve = We need something to celebrate the game’s impact.

    More Shantae characters

    A genuinely good Patrick Star

    mugenarchive owner here

a friend pointed me to this thread and I had such a good laugh I had to make an account for this, sorry, although I'm usually pretty busy

first the "banner incident" has nothing to do with anything, and as someone pointed out, the irony is laughable, I mean, "thieves" complaining about being stolen xD it was funny back then and didn't get old one bit xD

I really didn't mean to offend anybody back then I just didn't give a damn, nor did I have the time to care but the salt seemed so strong that I ended hiring some artists

anyway, the real reason for the grief was elsewhere, on the guild, where an ex admin (demoted now) who was close to some ffa members has censored our site, I have always suspected it was a cheap shot at the competition but maybe I'm a bit paranoid

anyway now I'm too old and busy to care about such drama, and tbh I probably wouldn't even know how to undo it, the community is self managed, and other than the coding and hosting I'm not much involved with the site anymore

thanks again for the good laugh my good friends xD

    and take care ;)

Wow, that is remarkably petty. Christ. Don't they have some kind of law against letting 12 year olds run forums? Oh, wait a minute

Also, having quit years ago doesn't stop him from being a fatty fatty fat fat who burnt one of my favorite communities to the ground, that wasn't really cool, and people like him incentivized me into doing what I was doing for so many years so I figured if I was doing some kind of final act in the name of closure it'd be nice to call back to where my attitude came from, when I think of the absolutely massive quantity of awful people I've seen in ten years of trying to spite them, he sticks out to me as the worst. The single most pathetic sycophant basement-dweller I had ever witnessed during ten years of trying to spite pathetic sycophant basement-dwellers. Tried to take down THE with frivolous legal threats, and when that didn't work, he resorted to downright harassment, bombarding THE with highly illegal false reports of child pornography. Now, I'm all for letting stupid things go, because I've done plenty of them myself, but abusing the law is a whole other ballgame. Ask yourself, what kind of obsessive freak resorts to abusing laws meant to protect children, wasting the time of people whose time is in short supply, to take down some stupid site about a fighting game engine because you dislike them? That's beyond the pale, and no amount of time washes away how supremely atrocious that is. I absolutely loathe people who hurt children, directly or indirectly. Back then I just hated him because he disagreed with me because I was loving the forum drama, but now that I've got older it's sunk in how supremely fucked up his actions were in retrospect. What a terrible human being. He deserved every bit of the shit he gets, and honestly, back at one point, your acceptance of him around here made me question your character. No offense intended, of course.
