  7. Not sure why you're bringing up Primal Groudon in a meta where its currently banned. Regular Groudon is S primarily for its versatility, but it does have several checks to keep it under control: 252 SpA Life Orb Palkia Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Groudon: 335-395 (98.2 - 115.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock 252 SpA Life Orb Palkia Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Groudon in Sun: 198-237 (49 - 58.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock 252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Landorus Earth Power vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Groudon: 250-294 (73.3 - 86.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock 252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Landorus Earth Power vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Groudon: 175-208 (43.3 - 51.4%) -- 63.7% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock 252 SpA Life Orb Turboblaze Reshiram Blue Flare vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Groudon in Sun: 356-421 (88.1 - 104.2%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock NOTE: Reshiram speed ties with Jolly Groudon, so Careful & Adamant variants lose assuming they don't have any Rock Polish boosts. 252 SpA Mega Sceptile Leaf Storm vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Groudon: 356-420 (88.1 - 103.9%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock 252 SpA Mega Sceptile Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Groudon: 290-344 (85 - 100.8%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock 0 SpA Life Orb Groudon Overheat vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Sceptile in Sun: 209-247 (74.3 - 87.9%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock 252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Groudon: 282-332 (82.6 - 97.3%) -- 25% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock 252+ Atk Life Orb Groudon Precipice Blades vs. 232 HP / 0 Def Mega Venusaur: 261-308 (72.7 - 85.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock 0 SpA Rotom-W Hydro Pump vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Groudon in Sun: 134-158 (39.2 - 46.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock NOTE: Since Groudon lacks the Fire typing that Primal Groudon has, it's also susceptible to Will-o-Wisp.
  8. For those claiming that the character is bad (which, after testing, I completely agree with), can you at least provide a list of what's wrong with the character in order to back up your claims so your posts aren't mistaken for uninformed, mindless bashing? Thanks.
  9. So December's use stats for Ubers are out. While there are some predicted rises/drops for the UUbers banlist, those wont take effect until next month when January's stats become available. In the meantime, here are some changes to the viability ranks. : Added to S Basically Primal Groudon lite; everything Primal Groudon can do in Ubers, Groudon can do in UUbers. The fact that it can provide 8 turns of sun instead of Mega Charizard's 5 gives it an edge as a sun support Pokemon, giving it an extra role. Being able to support many dangerous threats such as Mega Charizard X, Blaziken/Mega Blaziken, and Reshiram gives it a huge splashability as a support Pokemon. Groudon isn't relegated to just support roles, either, as it can provide a potent wallbreaker with Swords Dance or a cleaner with Rock Polish. : Added to A Blaziken and its Mega are nifty cleaners that can easily dispatch many teams. Swords Dance sets allow them to act as wallbreakers that aren't dead weight against offense due to Speed Boost, while 3 Attacks + Protect let them act as cleaners. They also have nothing to fear from Mega Mawile, as they both resist Sucker Punch while striking hard with Flare Blitz. : Drop from S to A+ The addition of Groudon and Blaziken/Mega Blaziken to UUbers has not been too kind of Mega Mawile. While its still capable of poking giant holes in the opponent's defensive cores, the fact of the matter is that these two can survive a +2 Sucker Punch while OHKO'ing in return. : Drop from A+ to A While still good at what it does, Tyranitar being added to the tier provides a solid check, capable of KOing or Pursuit trapping. : Drop from A to B+ Mega Charizard Y already faced competition from Reshiram as a wallbreaker, but now faces competition from Groudon as a sun setter, and with the addition of Tyranitar to the tier, it now has another viable check. : Added to B+ Tyranitar provides a solid check to many Pokemon in the tier, including Reshiram, Talonflame, and Mega Charizard Y, KOing them outright or Pursuit trapping them. However, it is hurt hard by the presence of Groudon, the Blazikens, Mega Mawile, Landorus-I, and, to a lesser extent, Palkia, and will need support to handle these threats. (Steel): Drop from A to B+ While still a solid support Pokemon, the addition of Groudon and the Blazikens pose trouble for it. : Drop from A to B+ Groudon and the Blazikens. : Rise from B to B+ Provides a solid check to Groudon for offense, able to 2HKO Sp.Def variants with Giga Drain while avoiding a 2HKO from sun-boosted Overheat after the Sp.Attack drop. Leaf Storm variants will be able to OHKO even Sp.Defensive builds after a bit of prior damage. However, it still has issues breaking through defensive teams and the Blazikens do pose problems for it. : Rise from B to B+ Another solid check to Groudon for both offense and defense. Thick Fat stops Overheat from doing too much damage, while Mega Venusaur keeps itself healthy with not only Giga Drain, but also sun-boosted Synthesis as well, giving it a whopping 66% HP recovery on use. : Added to B+ UUbers may have lost Giratina-A as a spinblocker, but gained Gengar in exchange. While frail and prone to being KO'ed, it provides a nice spinblocker for offense teams, something that neither Giratina-A nor Cofagrigus could effectively accomplish. (Ice): Rise from C to B Is able to take on non-Rock Polish variants of Groudon and Landorus-I 1-on-1. Blaziken is a nuisiance, but otherwise serves as a nice bulky Calm Mind attacker with psuedo BoltBeam coverage in Judgement [Ice] and Thunderbolt. Watch out for Mega Scizor, Mega Metagross, and Mega Mawile though. : Drop from C to D Groudon and the Blaziken, unless someone can show replays showing that this thing deserves higher than D. : Removed from D Unless someone can show replays showing that this thing deserves to be ranked.

  14. Its time for another CotM. No new rules to make note of, aside from the new CotP that we will now have every 4 months. Nominations & Voting Rules You may nominate up to 4 characters per month. You may only nominate a character that was released and/or updated during the given month. You cannot nominate characters that have previously won Gold or Silver in any previous Character of the Month. Be specific as to which character you are nominating; include both the name and the author name and, if applicable, the release thread of the character. To make things easier, we suggest that you append the number of nominations that the character has, including your own, when you make your nominations. Characters that have been nominated by at least 3 different people will become candidates for voting. Candidates for voting cannot be nominated any more (as there is no real purpose to this) Voting begins 15 days after the nomination period began, or once 20 characters have been nominated as candidates. The voting period lasts for 15 days. The winner will be announced at the end of this period. During this time, you will be permitted to vote for one character for CotM. So please choose wisely You may choose to nominate a candidacy rejection. Candidacy rejections can only be done on characters that have obtained at least 3 nominations for CotM. When nominating a candidacy rejection, you MUST list the reason(s) why you believe that the character should not be in the list of candidates. Note that if we, the staff of MFFA, feel that your reason for candidacy rejection is not adequate enough, we have the right to reject your nomination for candidacy rejection. At least three (3) valid nominations for candidacy rejection are required for a character to be removed from the list of candidates. You can only make one nomination for candidacy rejection per month, which also counts towards your 3 nomination limit. No collusion of any kind. If we find out that anyone has conspired with other users to nominate characters for the sole purpose of preventing another character from being nominated as a candidate by flooding the list of candidates until it reaches maximum capacity, those nominations will be null and void and all parties involved will be banned from participating in future CotM. That being said, December 2015 Nominations will end on January 15th, 2016.
