Meldo Posted November 14, 2023 Author Share Posted November 14, 2023 not gonna lie, this collection was a pretty big one to work on seeing as the original Smash collection was also large by comparison. this took over a week to finish as there was a lot of creations to add and a slew of them were also offline, so I had to work with what I got. as for the other missing characters, they were removed because they were either sprite/palette swaps and were not made with Smash gameplay/movesets in mind. stages that are simply static images with no other elements added also don't count. I may add some more stuff in the near future (like maaaaaaybe a guest section for Smash-styled characters that weren't in Smash) but please enjoy this collection in the meantime! DeluxeGamer705 Posted November 19, 2023 Share Posted November 19, 2023 I think I could share something here too from my site: https://sites.google.com/view/dxgsmugensite/characters This contains my version of Giga Bowser, a boss character with a moveset inspired from the Smash series (also with sprites from a certain spritesheet because I had a feeling that the custom-made sprites from me for him would look horrible). Some of the moves function similar to Bowser's ones in Smash - Up Shell works similar to up smash, while Giga Punch was inspired from Bowser's Final Smash from Ultimate, though his Specials have variations where the stronger ones make Giga jump higher (in case of Up Shell) or jump and fall faster (in case of Giga Drop, based on Bowser's down special). Also, the stages category contains two of my first stages (which were made to try making stages) - Melee Battlefield and Final Destination (the latter from Smash 64). There are separate nintendo collections redone or not that do or will eventually host the things that do not fit here. Meldo Posted November 26, 2023 Author Share Posted November 26, 2023 got around to adding more creations to this collection. to expand on my previous statement, stuff like Warner's Wario and SeanAltly's Snake have been previously omitted from this collection as they don't utilise the gameplay/movesets from the Smash series. the former started out as a spriteswap of another creation years before Wario was confirmed as a playable fighter in Brawl. creations that were made pre-Smash however (i.e Sora) ARE allowed on this collection as long as they happen to be Smash-styled. hope this clears things up. I think you may have some trouble understanding what we're getting at here. if a character strays too much from their Smash incarnation in terms of gameplay/movesets even if it happens to have very little references to the source games, then it doesn't count. the examples you have provided for Peach and Diddy aren't good, as they both have completely original movesets without any reference to Smash in mind. the "character uses their model from Smash" argument for Diddy isn't good either. as for Claymizer's Sonic, I totally forgot he had an up to date version and I'll get around to adding it as soon as I can. Mythos' Bowser, Kirby and Sonic do not count as they deviate too much from the source games. same goes with Sora as he was made before his reveal in Ultimate.
