If anything, I would wager that both characters were inspired by japanese wrestler Satoru Sayama who was known as Tiger mask.

We don't have a Mugen (non-Chibi or shitty) King yet...or an armor king. Nope, there a King in mugen with the tekken 3 sprites which he is a Sprite-Swap of NxC king.
