First, stop using all caps. About how to put sound, or character music. If you watched the tutorial on character creation, you should have understood already.

 

Read the triggers, and state controllers documents in mugen docs. Ryon had me memorize those when I was new.

This may sound like a dumb question but when creating the sprites as I am aiming to create custom ones. What dimensions should I use for an average size character? like what 64x64 or 128x64 pixels? I am guessing I never tried. Just need this sort of information.

use whatever size you want, just make sure all of your sprites are about the same size.

Photoshop is better than Paintshop if you know how to use it.

 

You can also use GIMP if you want. iirc it's free.

are both free, and can get the job done, but there is a bit of a learning curve.
