LightFlare chuckles at Penelope's comments before heading to the collect his winnings. Melina notices LightFlare and remembers to go collect hers as well...

 

You handled yourself well out there, Melina. How did you just take that blast from Lilith's last attack? Was that the result of our occasional training? Or something else entirely?

 

Now, now Light. A good girl never kisses and tells. I'll just keep that one to myself. In case I...want to give you a surprise gift one day...

LightFlare smiles. He knew full well that Melina wanted to challenge him again someday. Their first battle was in the arena. LightFlare won that battle. Since then, Melina and him have been friends. They trained together a few times but LightFlare still hasn't shared much of his past with Melina, but he has a lot of respect for her. Melina...feels the same way. The two collect their winnings and reunite with the group.

Anwalt and Lucent Vermillion

Location: Grand Wave Hotel

 

After all the prizes have been collected, the group left the Arena and the Bottom, heading to the hotel Anwalt mentioned. He led them through until they were finally close.

 

Anwalt: OK, we're close. I'm sure the hotel isn't that... big...

 

His mouth shut itself off once the hotel was in his sight. Melina wasn't lying, the place is completely enormous. It almost felt like a sort of private property of celebrities.

 

Anwalt: Whoa, I never thought it'd be this big!

 

Meanwhile, as Lucent looked down the window from his room, he saw the group down there. The even numbered rooms faced the entrance so that is why.

 

Lucent: As I expected, he brought more people than the accounted. It's the woman from the Arena and...

Lucent: ... The Hero. I had a feeling Anwalt would befriend him but not to the point of bringing him along. Seems like I have to endure it a bit more than what I accounted for...

[Darkflare]

Lilith took a moment to process what she was seeing. This was obviously a very expensive hotel....and he got 10 rooms in what could be described more as he got them just in case. If they could afford this, it was obvious that those two were very loaded. Still, this.....was way too much.

 

"Does your brother have any money management issues we should know about?"

[Dumanios]

 

Raina hadn't been sure what to expect of the Hotel, but it was way larger than she expected. It was a lot larger than any building she'd seen in Fantasia, save perhaps Gertrude's home and Andrealphu's lair, which both had their own weird circumstances...

 

Lucent said they'd be staying there for a bit. It's... what would Raina do with all the space she'd have?

(Hyde's eyes widen as he took his first gaze at the hotel)

Hyde: Woah, I wasn't expecting it to be this huge.

Before they left the Bottom, LightFlare and Melina grabbed some change clothes they had with them at the arena. They then followed the others. Everyone was amazed by the site of the Hotel. LightFlare and Melina were natives to the area, so they'd seen it quite a few times. Still...seeing it and knowing you arw actually staying there are two different things.

 

Wow...it feels like a dream. I've been on the outside looking in. But at least for one night...I get to live like the cool people do.

 

Well...this is indeed an honor. Thanks again for this opportunity Anwalt.

 

They all arrive and walk inside. Anwalt introduces himself and explains he has reservations for him and his friends. As Anwalt checked everyone in, the clerk suddenly looked concerned. Although most of them were dressed appropriately, LightFlare and Melina still had on their training gear. LightFlare in particular, was a bit underdressed. The clerk addresses LightFlare...

 

Hello sir. I'm sorry. May I help you?

 

 

Heh...i guess I'm a but underdressed for the occasion.

Penelope was nearly about to faint. She'd never been in a hotel like this, let alone get her own room in one. This was like a dream come true for her! Y'know, besides the fact that she was lost and had no way to phone home. But who cared at this point; she was finally living the life of a celebrity! Internally, she was freaking out. Externally...she was freaking out.

 

Penelope: AaaaahomigodI'msohappyrightnowIcouldexplodeeeeeeeee!

 

It was probably going to be a long time before she finally calmed down. Now, if only she could actually get to her room without bouncing off the walls or accidentally tearing off the doorknob...

Location: Grand Wave Hotel - Entrance

 

Anwalt: Uh... more like the other way around, Lilith. Between us both, I lose more money than him. But if I am to guess, he imagined I would bring a bigger number of people, so...

 

The elevator came down and Lucent got out of it. He walked towards the others.

 

Anwalt: Thanks for finding us a place but, uh... 10 rooms? Seriously?

Lucent: I don't want to hear that from someone who got tricked by a prostitute and lost two wallets.

Anwalt: Wha- can't you just let go of that already?!

Lucent: No. You brought this upon yourself, I'm not going to sugarcoat it because we're siblings.

Anwalt: ... You're evil, you know that?

Lucent: Grow up and deal with it. I'm like this for our good.

 

Lucent walked forward and talked with the rest, while standing near to the clerk.

 

Lucent: Anyway, I'm glad to see you all. We're on the 7th floor of the East Wing. I have our keycards here so we can just go to our rooms.

Lucent: Miss clerk, do the check-in of the five names I gave you earlier and of the two new guests, please.

Raina turned to check in as well. Truth be told, she was considering joining Melina by the pool, though she didn’t bring anything appropriate for that occasion. Maybe the hotel had their own swimsuits?

Raina listened and heard Anwalt call the new stranger his sibling. Lucent transformed? Was he a Thunderbird? 

 

“Lucent, right? I didn’t expect to meet someone who could transform.”

Lilith began thinking for a moment that something seemed off. It was decided the night would be spent in a luxurious hotel each in their own rooms. Being in a place of high class was actually something Lilith was used to, so why did it seem that something else needed to be addressed?

Location: Grand Wave Hotel - Entrance

 

Lucent heard Raina asking him about how he transformed in another person suddenly. Only Lilith had seen him like that, so it was expected. He decided to explain to her about how he did it.

 

Lucent: It might look like a transformation, but it's not exactly that. It was an illusion of my old form that I casted upon myself. If you would consider it, I'm a sort of illusionist mage.

Lucent: Don't count on me using it too much, though. I'm a terrible liar so I won't be able to keep up with those sorts of trickery.

Anwalt: He did it just so I could have a moment of reminiscence of how he looked in the past. He may not look like, but he's really kind.

Lucent: *sighs* Be glad that it was me. I doubt another person would concede to what you wanted.

Anwalt: I know. I'm glad and thankful.

 

Lucent gave him a small laugh, which was responded with a small laugh. Then, Lilith spoke up about how Penelope and Hyde were going to share rooms since they were minors. Lucent decided to offer up.

 

Lucent: Hyde, we can share the room if you want. I don't mind it.

Anwalt: Sure you don't want to let him share the room with me?

Lucent: Sleeping next to a snoring machine isn't nice for health.

Anwalt: Dude! Harsh!

Penelope was still freaking out, despite the fact that she wouldn't be having her own room. She didn't seem to notice that the statement was made, nor that Lucent was there...or anyone, really. She was in her own little world.

 

Penelope: AaaaaaaahI'mgonnedieofhappinessandcoughuprainbows!

 

It was probably going to be a while before she finally calmed down. Or moved. Or did anything but freak out. One of the staff would probably have to escort her out. Or maybe someone else. Anyone. Really.

The clerk checks everyone in. LightFlare and Melina see Lucent and decide to thank him.

With Melina's announcement that the kids would have to share a room with someone, Raina figured that she might be a good candidate for Penelope.

 

 

"Hey Penelope, would you mind sharing a room with me?"

 

Hopefully Penelope would have a response.

Location: Grand Wave Hotel - Reception

 

Once things were clarified with Raina, both LightFlare and Melina approached him. While he wasn't bothered with her, the image of the fight returned. He tried to hide, but his voice sounded slightly discontent.

 

Lucent: I've... done nothing extraordinary. There's no need to thank me.

Anwalt: (He's still bothered about Light...)

Lucent: I'll head back to my room now. There's something I need to search. Hyde, you can knock at room #714 if you wish to share it.

Anwalt: We still need the keycards for our room, so it's good to hand them over-

Lucent: Here you go.

 

Lucent gave Anwalt the keycards, headed back and took the elevator.

 

Anwalt: (Suddenly, I'm not that excited to see how this plays out.)

Anwalt: So, who wants to pick one?

LightFlare face becomes serious and he focuses directly on Anwalts eyes as he says "sparring". He states for a second then quickly smiles and chuckles a little bit.

 

Lol! Way to go, Light. The man pays for your stay in the single most stunning hotel in the area and you thank him by challenging him to a fight?!

LightFlare heads toward the elevator. Once LightFlare has walked away, Melina leans closer to Anwalt...

 

So..I'll take room number..."Whatever room you're in, big guy". Lol!

 

Melina laughed and moved in as if she was going to kiss Anwalt, then quickly snatched the 718 key card while Anwalt was distracted.

 

 

I'll be at the pool...later. You know...just saying. Hey, Light! Wait up!

 

Melina catches up to LightFlare as they both head towards the elevator...

Having been finally spoken to, Penelope nearly instantly broke free from her trance. She looked around for a moment, then at Raina. She had no idea what the previous conversation was about, so all she heard was "...sharing a room with me."

 

Penelope: Huh? We're sharing rooms?

 

Not that she'd mind sharing rooms with someone; after all, they were still in a big ol' celeb hotel! Being alone would've been too much for her, anyway!

(She must have been that excited to not have paid attention until just now. Although I should be thankful Raina offered and she didn't pay attention that I told her she would be with me. I don't think I can handle her through the night.)

 

Lilith cleared her throat before addressing Penelope.

 

"It's just Hyde and you that will be sharing rooms as you're both minors."

This was totally unfair. How could they pair them up with adults? In fact, why wasn't Raina getting paired up with someone, too? She looked even younger than her! But she decided to keep her mouth shut; trying to get other people in trouble with her usually wound up with her getting in deep doo-doo.

Anwalt could only snicker quietly as she went away with a keycard. Melina seemed to be the type to tease a lot with this sort of stuff, but he didn't mind it much. As she went away, he went back to the others as Penelope seemed to dislike the idea of sharing a room.

 

Anwalt: Uh, Penelo, I think it's best if you shared a room with a girl. Besides, you seem like the youngest of us here, so it's better to have someone watch over you.

Anwalt: Also, while we're at it, why don't you share with Raina? Maybe some girl night talk between you two will be fun.

 

As much as Lilith offered her room, Anwalt felt like Penelope's energy might tire her out faster than it would do with Raina. The shrine maiden seemed like the best idea for room sharing, especially with a girl such as the little one standing in his front.

 

Lucent Vermillion

Location: Grand Wave Hotel - East Wing, 7th Floor

 

The elevator opened and Lucent went towards his room. Before he entered it, he decided to think about the situation.

 

Lucent: (If I am to be fair, I'm not liking how the situation is going. This is seriously going to spin out of control someday. I'd love to keep it in check, but with Anwalt being like this... I'm definitely not ready to lead, especially because I'm a minor too. Let's think about the others and see how it goes...)

Lucent: (Lilith seems like the most level-headed of us, so she'd make a good leader. Raina does seem really intelligent too, but I think the first one has more life experience I guess. Best if I went with the first option.)

 

Having Lilith as the leader of the bunch would be more reassuring. He had already discarded himself and even though Raina seemed like a good choice, he prefers the first option. Now, he thought a little about the rest of the group.

 

Lucent: (If I'm to start with self-analysis, I can keep my head cool... though I'm immature in some situations. I think I'm going to pay good attention to my actions during this trip and see what I can improve on myself.)

Lucent: (Hyde's OK, but I don't know... he seems sorta... "generic"? I don't know if that's the word I want to use, but it seems to describe him for the moment. He's powerful, I admit, but still looks like some sort of teenager that doesn't understand much and just does what he's doing because he doesn't have much of a choice.)

Lucent: (Penelope's happy-go-lucky attitude might bolster morale at some moments but the problem right now is that she doesn't have powers and is sitting ducks compared to us. Maybe she'll learn something at the future. Though right now, keeping her out of danger is a priority. I just hope she doesn't feel bad about it.)

Lucent: (Anwalt... well, I already know how to deal with him. We're family, after all. He's not a bad guy, but his overfriendliness will become a hassle. Especially if we go fighting against other people... like today.)

Lucent: (That blonde woman, which name I don't know yet, doesn't look weak. I mean, she managed to defeat Lilith so I guess that's a plus. Still, I would actually like her more if she stopped sounding like a teaser. I already have to put up with Anwalt and now there's her calling me "Pretty Boy" all the time. I ought to introduce myself so she can stop.)

Lucent: (Finally, there's the Hero... I don't think I'll hide the fact that I don't like him at all. He doesn't seem evil, but seeing and being are two different things and he hasn't proved me his kindness, but the inverse. Honestly, best if I avoid any sort of conversations with him.)

 

Soon, he could hear the elevator ringing. Then, a strong aura could be felt inside it. He already knew who it was, so Lucent swiped his keycard and went into his room.

Penelope quickly took notice of Anwalt's presence, but hearing him agreeing with Lilith only made her more upset. But she couldn't really challenge their judgement, could she? After all, they were adults, and she was always told to respect their opinions. She let out a sigh of defeat, but almost immediately perked back up. After all, at least she was still getting to spend time with someone cool!

 

Penelope: Well, okay! Looks like it's gonna be me and you after all, Raina!

 

She grinned at the girl. Though she really, really wanted to get her own room, sharing a room with another girl was going to probably be even better than being in a room alone. In her mind, she was squealing in joy. Her excitement was also slowly beginning to well up inside of her. It was only a matter of time before that bomb went off again.

Yea. Its funny. I always seem to find myself in situations like this. I've moving around. Staying in various cities and hotels. Not until a few years ago have I really settled down in one place.

 

A regular nomad huh? One of these days you're gonna have to tell me more about your past, "Mr Mysterious Warrior."

 

Huh...we've known each other for a lil while now. I guess I could share. Just not tonight...lol!

 

Oooooof course. You crashing for the night?

Melina smiles and looks as if she's thinking...

Anwalt: No probs about it, man. You should go then, since Lucent already went to his room. Just knock at the room 714 and call him.

Lilith approached Anwalt taking the key for room 715.

 

"I have a feeling tomorrow will be a long day, so make sure to get some rest."

 

She proceeded to head to the elevator. As she did, she began to think about her situation

 

(It was just one day, but I've managed to find everything I needed. Tomorrow, I will be over there to see him.)

 

(I've dragged a few others into this though. I'm not exactly fine with them being involved over such a selfish request of mine. Still, considering everything, perhaps he will be able to help me feel more confidence in myself, perhaps answer a few things about this dark power we possess.)

 

The elevator doors opened as she stepped inside.

 

(The brothers and I came to this world willingly, but the others seemed to have been pulled here by force. I wonder why that is though. I don't think I will be of much help in that situation unless I suddenly stumble upon it.)

 

(Melina and Lightflare are strong, but they're also so carefree. I wonder if that's the typical attitude of the locals around here... I.....kinda hope not...)

 

The elevator stopped on the 7th floor and Lilith began to step out. She began to head for her room before looking over at Lucent's room.

 

(Lucent left before Hyde's match ended. I want to ask him about his observations, but he seemed to be in a bad mood. I should probably wait for him to calm down before asking.)
