The guard followed him out and stood at the entrance silently, preventing entry. He seemed to have the hilt of something upon his back, maybe an incomplete weapon of some kind.

     I was eager to join my brother and go on another task. I saw him at the end of the corridor and went running, but then, this girl from the 2nd year stopped me in my tracks.

     She stared intently at me, almost looking like she was going to give me a lecture at any moment.

 



Yui: Um...Can I help you with something?



???: You're Ralf Clay's sister correct?



Yui: How did you know? I'm Yui Lilly Celest!

Yui: I was taught to always introduce myself.

     When I noticed, my brother wasn't at the corridor anymore.

     This was written in the paper: "I think a duel against a true specialist in wind magic would make you learn something, so go on ahead."

 



Yui: Well...If you say so brother...Alright then, where should we fight?



Saika: (Talk about mood swing.) At this school's rooftop. I brought someone to oversee the match.

 

     And so, she took me to the rooftop. We stayed silent through the duration of the trip, but I could easily tell she was upset at me. When we got there, a tall man dressed in red was waiting for us.

 



Saika: Mister Genjuro, we're here.



Yui: Genjuro?



Genjuro Kazanari: So, you managed to convince her.



Saika: Kinda...Anyway, sorry for taking up your time.



Genjuro: No worries. I'm always happy to watch the young ones grow strong and experient.



Yui: Nice to meet you Mister Kazanari. I'm Yui Lilly Celest.



Genjuro: It's a pleasure.



Saika: Alright then...we'll be using trainning gear...this is at least okay with you right?



Yui: That's right.



Saika: Good, now let's get this show started. Take your stance!

 

     I did as what she said and gripped my sword. Her upset expression from before was replaced with a calm and collected one.

 



Genjuro: START!!!

 

Track: Catch-22

 



Saika: !!!

 

     Suddenly, Saika ran really fast at me...Almost as fast as Hugie, if not more. She started to attack me with dance-like attacks. I did the best I could to block all of them.

 



Yui: (An opening...) HYA!!!



Saika: Hmph...

 

      But, it was a trap, she had backstepped right as I had swinged my sword.

 



Saika: Azure Edge!

 

      She blasted me with a wind shot, but I managed to block in time.

 



Yui: Whew...that was close.



Saika: (Seems like her hesitation influenced in her ability to block.)



Yui: Let's see...she did something like this...



Saika: ???



Yui: Azure Edge!



Saika: What? *dodges*



Yui: Aww...it wasn't fast enough.



Saika: It's just a basic arte, but nice job replicating it after the first use. That's what I wanted to see.

 

    She attacked me once more. It was clear that she was not only better with the sword, she could alternate between slashes and close-range magic, blasting me with powerful twisters.

 



Yui: Urgh...



Saika: You can't keep blocking forever! Dragon Swarm!!!



Yui: Argh...



Saika: SEVERING WIND!!!

 

     Saika knocked my sword away, and then, went for a finishing strike.

 



Saika: It's over! Sword Rain: Alp-



Yui: Nngh! HAAAAA!!!

 

     But then, I summoned my spear right on time and then, made her retreat with a swing.

 

**music stops**

 



Yui: Whew...



Saika: ... (A spear? I thought the Celests used only swords.)



Yui: Nice job dodging that.



Genjuro: It was a nice move and all...But aren't you supposed to use trainning weapons.



Yui: Eh? AAAAH! You're right! I ended up summoning a real weapon by mistake.



Saika: I wouldn't blame her...The battle has been on my side for a while, so he dangers instincts might've gotten in the way.



Yui: Well then...I'm going to switch it in a bit...

 

Track: Abbey Battle

 



Saika: No, keep it! It will be more interesting this way. I'll let you have this advantage.

 

    All of a sudden, she quickly closed in and started attacking again. I've managed to repel her away and started my own string of attacks. She kept dodging and blocking them.

 



Saika: Tch!



Genjuro: Her performance did a complete twist.



Yui: Hexa Strike!



Saika: Dragon Swarm!

 

   We were evenly matched this time. Since I was more comfortable using spells with my spear, I could clash my wind magic with hers. Even still, all I could do was delay her shots.

 



Yui: CYCLONE!



Saika: BIG TORNADO!



Yui: * gets out of the way of the move, but gets ambushed by Saika* Wah...



Saika: Not bad...Not bad at all. Your really have the talent that I expect from the Celest Family. Too bad...your naivete doesn't let you go beyond than this.



Yui: I think...I'm strong enough.



Saika: Really now? HYA!!!

 

    She repels me away, then, a tornado starts forming around her.

 



Saika: You're mistaken if you think what you have is enough to save this city!

 

    Then, she jumps very high and stays in the air, as if she was flying!

 



Saika: This is the pride of the Ventorian Family! GOLDEN EAGLE!!!



Yui: Maelstorm Cyclo-

 

    But before I could cast my spell, Mister Genjuro got in front of me and punched Saika's blast and nullified it. The clash was so intense it ripped the floor apart.

 
 

 

 

 

 

Yui: And he did it without using magic.

Hugh: Wait wait wait wait! Are you telling me that a normal guy managed to punch a magic blast away without using it?  Ancestor Magic is known to cause internal damage on normal humans If they aren't well protected...are you sure you're not making this up?

Yui: I was there Hugie. It was too real...You know I wouldn't lie.

Hugh: It sounded all too belieavable until that part.

Yui: Now that I think about it...I think your daddy can do something similar, right?

     Hugh turned his back and walked some steps away from the group.
