Aye, some moves use TargetLifeAdd state controllers (using minus values to reduce the opponent's Life). These cannot be altered by changing the stats as they deal a fixed damage value regardless of Attack and/or Defence stats.

He's quite gimmicky, but does pack quite a punch with his Smash Attacks. The reason I said Bowser was OP is because he hits like a truck and tanks like a... well, tank. That Super Armor on some of his attacks (namely his Smash Attacks) really adds to this. Gotta say, he's vastly improved over his previous incarnations, but that's not to say I dislike playing as them (the satisfaction of hitting the opponent with a charged forward Smash is so satisfying because headbutting is kewl). And before you say anything Neo, Meta Knight has been nerfed. He feels more balanced in this game than he was in Brawl.

Fire Emblem was once a Japan-exclusive series (and was intended to stay that way), but interest in the series from the west made Nintendo release the series outside of Japan, starting with the seventh(?) in the series. Pretty sure they do care, it's just the question of "will it sell in the west?".

I dunno about critical hits. Common criticism in fighting games is about anything luck-based, which is pretty much what critical hits are. It's up to you in the end, obviously.

I kinda like the Battle Factory to some extent, purely because it reminds me of post-game Gateway Colosseum where you'd get rentals and trade them up for better rentals. Tons of fun.

Rhyperior has fantastic physical stats as well as HP. It's Speed and Sp. Defense are nothing to write home about, so even with Filter, Grass and Water type moves wreck the poor thing, unless you Sash it. I remember I had a Rhyperior that held the Choice Band. Its Earthquakes murdered all, but it never lasted too long.

Dr. Mario being in never affected the Ice Climber's chances, hardware limitation did. Why, Dr. Mario might be there because they couldn't get the Ice Climbers working.

Overrated or not, it's still incredible.
