Theres not really much to say on rare characters. Dead links are just an inevitability, especially when it comes to free file hosting websites. Any creation that is not well circulated has a possibility of becoming rare; ranging from something over 10 years old to something just a few months old. I've got nothing to say about privates.

After speaking to a few people I came to the conclusion a k9999 by zzzasd most likely doesn't exist.

There's something very wrong with the reference link they give in that page, there is no trace of it ever existing on Conversion.wo.to. Still I'm going to ask my pal what he thinks about this and if zzzasd possibly made this as a very old character.

Meaning that you can hold down an arrow key and it will move along in that direction, rather than having to press an arrow key every time to move once along the roster.

You're right, a roster should only reach a certain point. For example like me; when you have to break your fingers pressing the arrow keys to reach a desired character thats when you realize that maybe you should construct a database instead. Theres playing with a lot of characters and then theres "I can't even see the small portraits anymore". My biggest roster from 2009 which I'm in the process of taking apart to add to the database is around 4000 characters using that old Screenpack by Arex Ax.
