See this thing? That's a light ball. It doubles the attack and special attack stats of the person who holds it. Great, but the only problem is that it's exclusive to Pikachu, who, while enjoying the attack bonuses, can barely make use of them as his speed only barely outspeeds the likes of Vivilion and is on par with speed demons such as Altered Giratina and Defense Deoxys. Add it's terribad defensive stats, and you have the definition of glass cannon.

What if the Light Ball were to have the same effects for the rest of Pikachu's evolutionary line? Thus, Pichu and Raichu enjoy the boost of a light ball. While Pichu with Light Ball might become a terror in Little Cup, that's not the beef of this discussion.

With a ton of punching power behind it, Raichu can now punch a lot higher up the Totem Pole. A Light Ball Raichu would be able to shatter most, if not all, the walls of the NU and RU tiers, and be able to rise to viability in UU + OU, perhaps.

But what if Light Ball Raichu exists in the same world as Mega Raichu X and Y? What advantages does Light Ball Raichu have against his Mega evos, and what disadvantages?

Pro: The Light Ball offers higher offensive stats than the Mega evos. Light Ball Raichu's attack stats are on par with the Primal reversions, Attack Deoxys, and Mega Rayquaza.
Pro: Using Light Ball Raichu as opposed to Mega Raichu frees up your Mega Evolution for someone else.
Con: Light Ball Raichu, while having strong attack, gets no defensive boosts.
Con: While Raichu's fine with Static and Lightningrod, they really don't stack up against Electrilate and GRound Wire.
Con: Knock Off completely neuters Light Ball Raichu. Not so much with the Megas.
