You have to override the states 10-12, adding just a Null State Controller there. Alternatively, you can just set the crouch animation to be the standing one for those states. For jumping it's similar, but instead of 10-12, you override state 40, adding the same thing. I think putting a ChangeState there would give a glitchy feel.

Well, adding FX to a palette that doesn't have them in it requires recreating the palette and reapplying the new palette to each sprite. Changing the color of the FX could be done manually or with the Gradient Map tool in Photoshop. Gradient Map would be the quickest. To get those colors, I'm sure it's a manual process.

Thanks! Yeah man, I was planning on having the shuriken actually spinning at all times. The three dots are the round win icons. Instead of having them show up when you win, I want them to light up, like other games do.
