Working on some random stuff. New environment concept. A sort of barren, mountainous wasteland on the side of a large demonic rock. That giant head is AI-generated and then pixelated; I think it still needs some polishing. Does anyone remember the arcade game Arm Champs II? Anyway, a while back I ripped the background sprites, which have a CAPCOM-ish vibe. So I'm trying to turn it into a MUGEN/IKEMEN stage. Here is an early sketch. Ryu and Sagat are just there for reference purposes.

After seeing my latest release, "Hoopster Court", this person wanted to have something similar but with one of the fiercest rivalries in the NBA: Celtics–Lakers. I chose Chicago over other cities and NBA franchises just because it shares the same colors with my favorite Argentine soccer team. There are a lot of comic book and retro game fans on this forum, so I'm going to start posting and sharing some background sketches, because I'm sure interesting comments will come up that can help me develop better stages. These are some of my latest WIPs backgrounds: Currently I want to make some backgrounds related to quadrilaterals, rings, arenas and fight zones. This first sketch is a generic Mixed Martial Arts octagon. A preview only for hardcore DC fans. Navs was building the Noonan's Bar and Countgate helped with the Section 8 cameos. I only made minor graphic tweaks and taking care of the stage code. The stage is not finished yet. Without a doubt Navs from The Unlimited is the greatest architect of backgrounds and environments related to DC Comics. And the best thing is that he's still creating stuff! I had already previewed some images but check out the video to see the Iceberg Lounge in action. This stage remains a work in progress. Yes, I know, another Sentinel factory ... but it's my own version, the Trask Indutries.

MK2 was always my favorite from the old era, and I think the same thing happens to most... So coming across this gem is great! This MUGEN build must be the best polished that can be found around. The starting point of this fight background was the pixel image of Marduk from the indie game UnDungeon. Using that cool sprite as a trigger, I built a temple/tomb with a West Asian vibe and Mesopotamian inspiration.
