  1. Okay so i've downloaded him and i noticed a few things that are off and need some fixes. I'm not trying to bash your work or hate on you, just wanted to bring it to your attention

     

    1. Missing a hit box on this attack

    2. He has no standing animation ( would look better if he did)

    4. When you use his hyper it has a dc logo left over from the template you used

    5. His AI needs some improvement becuase he spams his phaser and dagger throw over and over

     

    6. His head needs work becuase it does not look fluid

     

    7. His damage needs to be adjusted more, some attacks do way too much and some do too little

     

    8. I wish you would of gone the extra mile to make him more fluid and more playable, maybe you could fix it for a future update

    I took some time to spruce this up a bit. The crouching punch does have a hitbox, in fighter factory it is clns standard marked in a green hitbox. Open it up for yourself, it's there, anim 400.

     

    I swapped out the dc logo with a ranger head from some google pic.

     

    I stretched out the crouching hit box.

     

    I'll leave the A.I., spamming is a part of gaming, not fair sometimes though.

     

    For the rest I'll leave it for a future update, Spriting a stance takes a bit of time to get done and the heads aren't too bad imo?

     

    Thanks for the thorough report, it has helped me improve my personal version. If i do anymore serious updates to make it worth downloading  again, I'll upload for everybody. :bye:

    The irony is that you do the same thing, you take someone else's work (Capcom), then "copyright" it to your own name and thus forbidding others to use it because now it's "yours", if others wanna use it they have to pay you by adding your name and going through a transaction, "permission", (you can say no btw) even though you in no way own that image or have any right to it, even if you added or drew your own pixels of it in that likeness of that property, that still isn't yours just because you copied it differently.

     

     

    Get it?

     

    So how can you tell me not to take when you clearly took for yourself as well? If you got it freely then why can't I get it freely to? After all the source wasn't  you because you got it from capcom to begin with.

     

    Tell me something, did you ask the individual artist that drew that stuff, I know the company said it was cool as long as it wasn't for profit but did you respect the guy who did all the hard work behind the companies who spent all the hours making it? Did you ask him also? How they felt about it? The company might say fine but every artist involved in that company didn't have a say? That's right you never asked permission from the people you identify yourself with.

     

    Ah so now we are both doing the same things!

     

    So we either are all in this the same way or you should quit now and never touch another property that you never owned or asked permission for, including taking down all of "your" works (which is impossible by now since thousands of copies have all ready been distributed).

     

     

     

    Would Shutterstock still claim it as their image if you changed the palette or added 1 pixel? Would it be yours now and free to use? By your logic, yes it would be yours because you put hard work into it and, no, nobody is allowed to use it because it's now "yours".

     

    So which is it? Is it yours or theirs?

     

    -This is exactly what you told me I couldn't do, but you did it to! You take Capcom and modify it and say, "no one else is allowed but me."

     

    You can't contain an image for yourself, that's why the copyright laws don't work that well.

     

    But the point is that you are doing the same thing I'm doing. We should be allies, not foes.

    Well because it's not about me, it's about the mugen. Besides I'm just a username to you, you have no idea who i am or what i look like. Why put names at all? Lets just make and play the stuff. Besides people don't like me, they like Green ranger or Mario, etc., etc., etc., whatever..

     

    The only good thing names are for is to tell the Ryu versions apart LOL

     

    I'm hoping that someday we can all just drop this nonsense and just enjoy free cool content from anything we like. I'm hoping others notice at least this much and start coming around to that idea.

    yep, it's done. I hope someday I get into Open BoR to maybe convert this stuff over. I played the sega and nintendo versions and all though I liked them, I think they could have been tweaked to make things fast paced and interesting. I think Beat 'em ups are too long and slow, I'd like to see something fast and satisfying.

     

    Anyway, i hope it's a nice addition for some of you. ;)

  5. Green Ranger - Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

    This was a quick wip done for a forum for 2015 launch come back, as I have been absent for a few months. Things got complicated and so the wip had to be moved to various other forums. This release used a Cyclops base by Loganir and Verz and was modified into the green ranger. It's not exactly a 6 button character but more of a beat 'em up setup. Green Ranger has 2 special attacks, a blaster which he was given from Zordon in the show, but was never seen using it. The other special is a dagger throw seen in the fight between red ranger vs green ranger. Green Ranger has 1 super/hyper, he combines his saber of darkness with his dragon dagger and fire his famous laser beam/lightning bolts.

     

    To perform the specials just do the hadoken (quarter circle forward on the D-pad) combination with an attack button press. Do it in reverse to use the other special. To perform the hyper, do the hadoken combination again and press two attack buttons at the same time.

     

    The character is based on the hit TV series "The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers", a sentai American edited TV series from Asia. Enjoy!

  6. Why are you attacking me?

     

    I've made it clear that the base is cyclops by verz and loganir in the very first post. The concept of stealing pixels is nonsense. What he does is what anyone else can do as well. it's nothing special. Besides "his" work is nothing but a manipulation of Cyclops sprites by Capcom. In either case it's all copyrighted so you tell me what right he has over pixels?

     

    This is nonsense, his Cyclops is still online and still the same. I've done nothing except alter a copy that was originally a Kung Fu Man to begin with. His character was released for all of us to have and use; if he didn't want copies being altered then he should have never shared it to begin with.

     

    I'm not the only one altering his stuff either, there are many of us who do, the only difference is I share my edits for others to enjoy.

     

    I haven't taken his credit either, everyone knows who he is and is still a big shot regardless of Green Ranger.

     

     

     

    AND aside from all of this, do you honestly want nobody to have a new Green Ranger character just to satisfy verz? Are you gonna take away their character? Should I delete all of this and not release anything, would that be better for the community or worse?

     

    I used his character because i liked it, not to spite him in some way, I used it because i am his fan and the base works so well for a power ranger, this wip would ended up the same if I made the base myself anyway because I just be re-creating the same size and base he made for his character. Why can't I take a shortcut? Do you rip Capcom's sprites every time you need them or do you use someone else's rips? Exactly, if it's there and ready, why not do it O?!

     

    I have nothing against you personally, i just disagree with this view on owning pixels and anyone else can simply duplicate or make better, other times worse LOL

     

    You works are still there and everyone will still love them, it makes no difference what i do and besides i made a green ranger, not a cyclops. If anything verz is getting more credit because he made the base for green ranger.

     

     

    Anyway, i hope you'll be reasonable and listen to reason. I've done nothing really wrong, how can you steal a copy that is infinite and free? How can you alter it if it's still on your blogs?!

    I just hoped that someone would have done this years ago instead of me to be honest. I like creating stuff but it can be a pain sometimes. I'm just glad there is more to share, no matter who it comes from, it's always a good thing to have more choices! ;)

     

    It also would have freed me to do other stuff instead like a L.Zedd character or a Shredder (Movie version). I'll get to them to though XD

     

    I also appreciate the honest feedback (whether in my favor or not) and I in no way wish for it to stop either. I like when a forum can have a complete spectrum of freedom and it is at its best when it goes both ways for everyone.

     

    Furthermore, my work is open as usual (referring to your comment) for anyone else in case anyone is wondering again. My permission is never required nor do I believe in such a foolish concept (this is mugen after all) in that it is a freeware game engine and as such it is completely customizable, as well as its content that is freely and publicly given.  

     

    In case I didn't mention this before,

     

    "Everything I edit is open source, please don't ask for my permission. If I post it, it's yours! Also, Do not Credit me. Thanks."

    The first image is a dagger throw projectile, seen in the fight between red ranger vs green ranger. The second image is the hyper/super, seen also in the same episode where both the dagger and the saber are combined to unleash a beam and lightning combo.

     

    I guess from here I'll just do the sounds and release this I guess?

  9. I am currently changing up the heads, I will agree to this, they can be a little more different. I'ma start on fixing the walk.

     

    I really don't want to spend too much time on one thing, it gets boring and I lose interest. Though I have updated stuff in the past with more stuff such as Goku and Link (Zelda). Maybe I'll add it after a few other releases, we'll see. *yawn*

     

    I will say though that I don't feel bad at all in limiting the 6 button movesets because there are just so many power rangers, I just think it really makes little difference when you have such a vast selection of near identical fighters. They're just 1 dimensional rinse and repeat gimmicks. Don't get me wrong, i enjoyed a lot of them but I don't feel that it is worth fleshing out too deep.

     

    And again I'm probably gonna do like 2-3 more so it's all ready gonna be a ton X(

    Okay the last of the basic moves is done for now (but we'll see, maybe I'll update with more later on) so all that is left is the special and hyper(s).

     

    The best and somewhat harder part will be the audio rips. The character really takes life when you hear just the littlest of things giving it life, such as when they jump through the air and you hear the heavy swing, or when they through a punch and it sounds like a hammer striking metal, or the impact that for some reason sounds like a gun firing off with an explosion.

     

    That reminds me, I am gonna try and add those hitsparks where the punches leave like a tiny explosion with literally smoke and sparks w/fire. That was always memorable in the show and they especially used it in the zord fights.

  10. Those two up there are the baddest zords ever imo. The ninja zords look like crap, tiger zords got nothing on the dragon zord. The falcon zord is pretty cool but dragon zord can shoot missles to! XD It really sucked when the thunderzords replaced the old ones, though it was a decent replacement though.

     

     

    I wouldn't mind having a car that looked like these LOL

    Okay 2 attacks remaining, both aerial.

     

    In the show, I saw green ranger do a double drop spin kick. I'm wondering if I should incorporate that? I don't have the sprites for it but I could make it, though I doubt the effort would be worth it...for the following reasons in that it is not exclusive to green ranger but rather has been done by several of the power ranger leaders and also it probably won't look as good in game than it does on film. So my plans for this are still hazy. I'll have to work this out more in my head.

     

    As for specials I ditched a lot from the show. I found that although they were interesting for sure, they were just too repetitive in function. I'm not a fan of the repeated hadoken, where one is a ki blast and the other is sometimes a fireball. They both are basically the same thing so no point in using both. The same issue comes up with green ranger's moves.

     

    I think it'll just be 1 special and 1 super/hyper; maybe more on the super/hyper, it will depend on the dragonzord spriting and or resources.

     

    The first being all ready working, a dagger throw attack, and the super/hyper being the combined dagger and saber shooting together a blue green  lightning laser beam. I might reassign these depending on other factors, that is if I can make more moves that could replace or reinforce the moveset. That's all regarding plans for now.

    Okay some more attacks and now the green ranger's sword, or saber? I have no idea what it's called but there it is. I may bring back the dagger and saber for some specials. I think i saw him throw the dagger before and shoot lightning bolts with the saber, as well as a ground geyser, after the saber is driven into the ground.

     

    3 more normal attacks remaining. crouching kick, an aerial punch, and an aerial kick.

     

    After this I just have to make some specials and some hypers. This will take longer because I'm going to base them directly from  the shows scenes; which means I'm gonna take a lot of time for watching them in action.

     

    Later today I should have the remaining 3 attacks finished. After that it may take a week for more progress concerning the specials and hypers. The hypers will probably involve the Dragon Zord's attacks, though this might be tough to incorporate considering how large it is.

  13. Thanks, yeah sure will keep on him. The 3 standing punches are gonna be like this. Light punch is going to be a normal punch, medium punch is going to be an attack with the dagger, and the hard punch is going to be that sword he used in the first few episodes for longer range and power.

     

    These will probably take me a bit longer to do since I'll have to make the weapons from scratch unless someone out here has some?!?!?

     

    The rest fo the attacks are going to be sets of 2 only or 1. I might turn the rest of the buttons into specials or something?

  14. no. most of the green rangers were ripped form Sega game and they were small and skinny. So far the one you're working on is the same size and a Capcom character and alot of people are gonna want you to do your best as you make him. Otherwise,

    you're gonna get ripped bad. So there is no need to rush this just to be be the first. Take your time and make the best!!

    Just to clarify I care nothing about my reputation, I don't know any of you in real life. I just wanna get that out of the way. I do this not for my reputation or to be recognized as a great creator or whatever, this is just a hobby for me and I enjoy sharing it with others who also enjoy this hobby. I do what i can to make it fun and pleasant to the eye but I may make mistakes along the way that I won't care so much about because again I'm just finger painting here. I color outside the lines sometimes with crayons because I'm just coloring for fun, not because I'm painting the mona-lisa.

     

    I know other sprite artist are anal about their pixels but frankly I'm not. It's just something I do to pass the time. You don't have to download it and you don't have to keep it either. It's just there for anyone wants to for some reason.

     

    Side-NOTE: I'm sure I'm not the only one who will make a new green ranger. Balthazar is doing a blue one btw in case you didn't know.

     

     

     

     

    Okay, so you say they are only small sized, well this will be good then I guess. Green ranger is going to be lonely for awhile  :p

  15. I'm not too worried about quality, In my opinion, you'll hardly see every little detail when you gameplay a fight. Fighters move up and down so fast they basically just end up being motion blurs to the human eye. I'm sure there is a technical term for that?

     

    It's not too bad when compared to low-res graphics from early bit graphics. I think it's a step up, not perfect but it works.

     

    Besides I'm done waiting for a Green Ranger for mugen. He should have been done a long time ago. I'm sure someone will make a better one down the line but until then I'm doing this real quick until then. There's also a chance no one wille ver do one in the future so if that turns out to be the case, well you'll have mine at least LOL
