MFG is Now Login Only

But it says "Login Required"; what has happened recently to warrant this? Has this happened to anyone else recently?

The website is dying due to using EXTREMELY outdated software, causing more and more lag.

 

So now all access is limited to members only. No new accounts.

Ah, I see. Maybe we can band together to give the site some sorely-needed updates, or to merge it with this site.

Unfortunately we can't. Even the staff that moderates it, can't do anything, because the owner refuses to do anything about it.

I thought I said it here, but I see I don't yet...

 

Let me resume you in few words: the forum is about to collapse, and the owner (Nunor) is MIA and he's the only one who has the main keys to the forum core, where the people can fix or solve something, or in the worst of cases, get the archive of 20+years posts and move it to a new forum. The forum was to put for members only because the bot attacks are too much for the weakened server so admins opted to do that to secure the few they have. So, unless Nunor appears one last time to help or admins get a hacker that cracks the entrance so they can save MFG from inside, there's not much we can do sadly...

 

No idea if the weakened server only happens with the forum only or also will affect hosted sites like mine, but just in case I made a space on Neocities in case all collapse and the sites will be lost too. If you want more details, you can check MFG Discord channel where people is more active and probably they'll get a better answer than mine

The jist is... the owner isn't around, and the staff has no power to fix anything, so its locked down to keep what little balance there is left.
