  1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Azwrf5m2wE Decided to resurrect this from its grave.
  2. Fairy types are fine as is. With the exception of MegaMawile, all fairy types have lackluster physical defense, so dragons not named Hydreigon can still wipe the floor with them with their coverage moves. Plus add the still everpresent Scizor and now Aegislash. If any type needs to be nerfed, its ghost. They made it too OP this gen I feel. Unless that Grass Knot is backed by stab, choice specs, and/or a +2 stat boost, don't expect Grass Knot to be doing much to a Tyranitar during a sandstorm, especially the Assault Vest variants. Physical attacks, fighting type attacks, and Gliscor/Landorus are still the best way to deal with a Tyranitar, even with the Mega form's base 150 defense (though Gliscor/Landorus needs to watch out for Ice Beam variants)
  3. Megas, for the most part, is basically just another option/moveset. Yes, you have Megas that are outright upgrades that completely outclass their base forms such as MegaMawile, MegaPinsir, MegaLucario, and MegaCharizard X/Y (MegaKangaskhan is the biggest offender of this). Then you have Megas that serve different purposes from the base form like Mega Heracross and Mega Garchomp, which act as wallbreakers while their base forms act as sweepers. Stuff like Mega Mewtwo X even falls under this category, being a bulky physical sweeper in the same vein as something like Conkeldurr, only much faster and lacking a priority move. Case in point: Mega Tyranitar. Tyranitar has so many options, and its mega form is only one of them. Ttar can run the classic Choice Band set thats been a threat since Gen 4. Then you have supporter Ttar with Stealth Rock. Gen 6 gave Ttar another option in the form of Assault Vest, further bolstering its special bulk. And then of course, bulky Dragon Dance MegaTtar. And thats not even scratching the surface. Ttar also has a vast offensive movepool consisting of Pursuit, Crunch, Earthquake, Stone Edge, Ice Beam, and Fire Blast. Once Pokebank opens up, you can add Low Kick and Superpower to that list as well. And then you have Megas that are just... Mega Alakazam tier.
  4. Copypasta from the X&Y main thread: Battle with Matt: YWHW-WWWW-WWW3-S3HX Battle with noob: K85W-WWWW-WWW3-NL8X
  5. I wasnt expecting double battle either, so I was caught offguard, thinking his team was specialized for doubles while mine wasnt, which put me at a disadvantage.
  6. Battle with Matt: YWHW-WWWW-WWW3-S3HX GG, even though you caught me with my pants down since this team wasnt made for Doubles.
  7. Thats assuming that all 6 stats have max IVs, which Im pretty sure they dont. I found it odd that all three of them had BSTs hovering around 575 instead of 600 like they usually do. Again, its just a rough estimate to give an idea of how their stat distributions are. We won't know for certain until we have more data samples. If you want to make the assumption that all 6 stats are actually 0 IVs, go ahead and add 31 to each of those numbers I posted, which brings their BSTs up to a whopping 761 BST, which makes no sense for an event Legendary to have and even less sense for things that aren't even Mega Evolutions.
  8. Updated Yukari again. Fixed a bug in her train super that was causing a bug in the untechable knockdown. Changelog added to first page.
  9. In other news, Pokebeach just leaked some info regarding Diancie, Hoopa, and Volcanion Considering the stats that were listed and assuming max IVs and neutral natures, rough estimates of their base stats: Diancie: 40~41/100/132/100/154/49~50 Volcanion: 68~69/109/120/105~106/99~100/70 Hoopa: 80/97~98/59/139~140/130/70~71

  12. That's slow :P Not as slow as timid 252 speed 3 Agility Speed Forme Deoxys in the rain with Swift Swim Skill Swapped onto it... ... in Trick Room.
  13. Ultimately depends on what you need. If you have problems with dragons, go with Ice Beam. If Ferrothorn is a thorn in your bad puns side, go with Aura Sphere. Anyways, wondering if I should put that tournament thing in a separate thread.
  14. Only 5 moves are affected by Mega Launcher: Water Pulse, Dark Pulse, Aura Sphere, Dragon Pulse, and Heal Pulse (heals 75% instead of 50%). So no, Ice Beam is not affected, but considering how many dragon-types are 4x weak to Ice there are, its usually considered the superior option of M.Launcher Dragon Pulse: 252 SpAtk Modest MegaBlastoise MegaLauncher Dragon Pulse vs 252 HP / 252 SpDef Multiscale Dragonite: 125~148 (32.38%~38.34%) (Guaranteed 2HKO) 252 SpAtk Modest MegaBlastoise Ice Beam vs 252 HP / 252 SpDef Multiscale Dragonite: 180~212 (46.63%~54.92%) (Guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock) The only dragons present that Dragon Pulse is going to outdamage Ice Beam on are Goodra, whose special defense is so massive that you have no business keeping Blastoise in, Hydreigon, who's easily taken care of by Aura Sphere and Fairies, and Kingdra. For this reason, most MegaBlastoise run either Ice Beam for Dragons or Aura Sphere for Ferrothorn. I have yet to see one that actually uses Dragon Pulse.
  15. Not yet... In related news: http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/kangaskhanite-is-now-banned-to-ubers.3495351/ On to Lucario...
  16. Celebi's been a decent OU Pokemon for the past 3 generations straight, though, even with its typing. Anyways, just gonna post this little tourney idea for anyone whose interested: Hoenn Conformed Only Pokemon evolution lines belonging to National Pokedex #s 252-386 are allowed 4v4 Doubles Format, with best 2 out of 3 battles determining the winner Single Elimination Tournament with 8 people (may increase to 16 if enough are interested) Participants will be required to post battle video codes to confirm their wins/losses Only Pokemon and movesets/items that are natively available in-game in Pokemon X & Y and Friend Safari are allowed, meaning anything from Pokemon Bank or Events are not allowed. Sleep Clause will be in effect The ability Moody is banned The move Dark Void is banned (nothing that's allowed learns it anyway, so hah) Duplicate Items are allowed Winner will receive a 5 IV Pokemon of their choice, as long as said Pokemon can be bred. Just for reference, here is the list of Pokemon that will be allowed. Bold will indicate Pokemon with a Mega Evolution while Italics indicate a Pokemon that is allowed due to being part of an evolutionary line native to Hoenn: Mightyena Linoone Beautifly Dustox Ludicolo Shiftry Swellow Pelipper Gardevoir Gallade Masquerain Breloom Ninjask Shedinja Exploud Hariyama Azumarill Probopass Delcatty Sableye Mawile Aggron Medicham Manectric Plusle Minun Volbeat Illumise Roserade Swalot Sharpedo Wailord Camerupt Torkoal Grumpig Spinda Flygon Cacturne Altaria Zangoose Seviper Lunatone Solrock Whiscash Crawdaunt Cradily Armaldo Keckleon Banette Dusknoir Tropius Chimecho Absol Wobbuffet Glalie Froslass Huntail Gorebyss Relicanth Luvdisc Salamence Metagross
  17. So Pokebank comes with a Celebi download that lasts until September 30th, which comes with.... a clone of False Swipe. Of all the moves to clone, why False Swipe?
  18. Oh really? Have at you, then: Conservationist + Belly Drum + Salac Berry Conservationist + White Herb + Draco Meteor/Overheat/Leaf Storm Conservationist + Air Balloon Conservationist + Focus Sash + Roost/Recover/Slack Off Conservationist + Rest + Chesto Berry Conservationist + Type resist Berries Conservationist + Red Card Conservationist + Eject Button Conservationist + Weakness Policy shit, the possibilities...

  20. Scratch what I said about Foul Play until December 27th, since I forgot it the only way Umbreon can get it it through Gen 5 move tutor. And Grass usually has perfect synergy with Water and Fire (not to mention Leafeon has physical bulk as well).
  21. The battle you had with Noob tells me otherwise. I think you might have a fair chance against me, especially considering you have a Reuniclus. Anyway, Noob, another observation I made was that your team tends to lean towards special attacks, and not so much physical attacks outside of Flareon. If your Flareon has Guts, I'd probably go for Toxic Orb and Facade, otherwise a Choice Band set might work to at least give it some wallbreaking potential. Since it looks like you're going for Eevee themed team, Leafeon might suit your fancy, especially since it can outspeed Tyranitar and hit it hard on the physical side. Oh and your Umbreon would do wonders with Taunt over Psychic to shut down Pokemon that try to set up on it like Skarmory. Foul Play over Dark Pulse would be a nice option too. Just got an impish Onix to breed with so give it some time... you'll have it this week.
  22. Grass Knot on Espeon against Tyranitar is still a risky move, since you still only kill it in 4 hits while Tyranitar gets the KO with Crunch. Also, Aqua Ring generally isnt that great of a move since it locks you unable to switch, as evidenced in that battle. Wish with Protect would generally be a much more effective move, plus gives your team healing support. Its an egg move, but I have plenty of Eevees with Wish if you want me to hook you up with one. Now to just wait for Matt to get online so I can battle him :p
