Which is better? Sprite-Database or Sprite Resources?
MugoUrth replied to lyr's topic in [ RANDOM CHATTER ]
I have noticed a huge decline in quality with Spriters Resource. Some sprites on the site use transparent backgrounds which save in black, making sprites with black outlines harder to use. I've also notice that sprite-sheets are missing sprites, and some sprite-sheets even slow down my computer like I just got a virus or something. I cannot even explain that one. I always feel that the thing I've disliked most about Spriters Resource is their disgusting hostility towards You Know Whats. -
Yeah, but I hope it's not just going to be limited to generic battling and exploration with everything else limited to Online-Only features (like Black/White). The diversions like Pokemon Contest and Pokeathelon were some of the things in Pokemon that made Pokemon even more fun, and got me interested to drive through the entire game in days.

No contest, really. Spriters Resource has a lot more sprites, but an awful community. To be fair, though, Sprite Database doesn't have a huge community, but it mostly a nice one. Me, I have a few sprites and soundclips submitted to Database (under the name That-Darn-Cat or Rex the Jailcat) that I will not have submitted at Spriters Resource. I even have "not to be submitted to Spriters Resource" in some of my disclaimers. -
Right now, I'm really holding out for a Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire remake, because I was largely disappointed with Black/White, and am debating whether I want Black 2/White 2, because they sound almost as disappointing, especially compared to the gen 3 and 4 games. I swear, though. If they do bring back Ruby/Sapphire for the DS, and they completely remove Pokemon Contests and the Battle Frontier, as well as other fun things, and limit secret bases and berry growing to Online-Only, like they did in Black/White, and replace it all with more and more generic battling and exploring, as well as a single crappy minigame like Pokemon Musical or Pokestar Studios, I will be super cross at Gamefreak.

That's actually the Onigiri cat from Futaba Channel. This is, surprisingly, the second time it's been made for MUGEN. It was made by Shimon once, as well. This version is probably better, though. At least judging by the sprites. Also, I haven't said it yet, but when did that Doremon (Spelling?) kid get hit with the Chuck Norris Manly Ray?
-
Is this based off of any 2Chan Futaba Channel characters?
-
Yeah, none of them seem to work most of the time.

I've always found that win pose to be a bit creepy, which kind of made it funny.

Well, the Mugen Character is bound to use the Giraffe form in creative ways, I'd think.
-
No, not a joke character.

*Rant* I don't know why, but characters like Kaku always make me sad. I've always dislike it when a character I like who seems like a good guy character turns out to be a villain. Not a fan of One Piece, so I knew nothing of the character before hand, but that turning into a giraffe business is still kind of cool. Still, I was interested in researching him, and he turns out to be that kind of character.

It's because most of the time I'm online, my dad is playing Dark Age of Camelot, and since updating the collection requires me to upload, which could cause my dad to go link-dead and yell at me, I generally don't get the chance to. There also an art project I'm working on as well. ...And any other time, I'm just being lazy. There are still MUGEN characters I have yet to add to the collection, and a whole lot of stages as well. Mostly the characters I'm looking for is FF1 MugenHunter's Knuckles, which every time someone posts the link to, that link ends up getting deleted, as well as FF2 MugenHunter's Chaotix Espio, which I have no idea where to find. ...But that's off topic.

I know, but I was kind of expecting, err I dunno, some type of evil version or something. ...Really, I don't know what I expected.

Another character from Top Fighter, this one's based off of Heavy D.

Every time I think a character is going to be one thing, whether it's an SNK Character (Kaede), a Capcom character (Lillith), or something else, it ALWAYS turns out to be an anime-girl. What is it with Mugenites and Anime Chicks these days? Although, looking at the video screenshot, I'm not even sure that's a girl.

Rockman mugen Mini game by Ukege released 9/14/12
MugoUrth replied to Phantom Blood's topic in [ 2012 ]
Alright, tried it. It's pretty fun, but there are a few issues. All the bosses are pretty difficult. Spiderman, for some odd reason, seems to be the easiest. I notice Spiderman only attacks when you do. Sometimes, Spiderman does this attack where he jumps up into the air and comes crashing down. Afterwards, he starts posing for a few seconds (giving you plenty of time to deal some damage) as a little word box pops up over the character which, for some reason, can hurt you. Zagi (A character made for MUGEN by the same guy, who I think is from Hokuto No Ken/Fist of the North Star judging by the graphics) is probably the second easiest. While still a bit tricky, his three-shot bullets are pretty easy to dodge, and he does this three times. But he also shoots these homing-missles which are really difficult to dodge. Bomberman's a bit tricky. His bombs only work vertically and horizontally, but he throws a LOT of them. The ultraman monster (Or whatever it is/is from) is a pain, because his moves are incredibly fast and require really good eye-hand cordination to dodge. Plus, his weakness is the Hudson Bomb: the hardest weapon to use. Kung Fu Man's boards are another attack which is a pain to dodge. They come in from different angles, and go out. He also has the attack where he just sends sliding punches and uppercuts, which may not seem like much, but deal a lot of damage. The KFM looking dude who blows up in his intro (I swear I've seen him before, but I forgot where he's from) is another tricky character with high-damaging moves requiring high eye-hand cordination. He generally likes to dive at you with his sword and throw two grenades which, unlike Bomberman's bombs, work in a normal Megaman fashion. Jin Fu-Ha from Art of Fighting 3 (Named Sugio Man, not sure what that means) is another unpredictable character. His spinning moves are difficult to dodge because you usually have an idea how they work, but won't know for sure till it happens. He can also summon barrier clusters. Rock Howard is probably the hardest of them all. He has a charging move where he charges with a punch, and if you jump, he'll use a spiraling upward drill kick which is next to impossible to dodge. And finally, the final boss... hasn't been implemented yet from what I can tell. The boss comes on the screen in his ship, opens the pod up, makes funny faces, closes, goes off the screen, and then... nothing. You just sit there listening to an annoying space-ship noise over and over, which leads me to believe that's yet to come. -
Kazuya & Kuma Updated Ogre Beta Released By Chuchoryu

I think it might be the contrast, as Mr. Bear's is darker than Kazuya or Ogre. -

The first thing that came to mind when viewing this was "Jin Fuha from Art of Fighting 3? That's an odd choice for a Megaman Robot Master." -
Eh, I'm no Brony, but I kind of wonder as well.
-
He looks like a cool character, I might as well.
-
A giraffe? That's an odd animal to turn into. But that's One Piece for you. :P
-
What do you mean "You're joking, right?" Those sprites are amazing. They look just like him. ...Bazinga.
-
The Touhou series is HUGE, ranging from Fighting Games to Bullet Hell Shumps. Even then, it's just an opinion.
-
The stage looks... Jpeged.

Actually, Umbreon.
