  1. [update - 08.10.12] Fixed some issues created from my last update and other issues I had found. This character took forever. He has no specific style like the rest of my characters. This is not an edit. Sean's sprites were used, but this was made from scratch. At first, Squall was going to have Renzokukens that go straight into a super. Rough Divide, Fated Circle, etc., but the gameplay was sluggish and kind of boring. You only use Renzokuken for Lionheart now. He has a mix of attacks from Final Fantasy VIII & Dissidia. He also comes with Japanese and English audio. The Japanese audio was custom because his sounds have not been ripped from Dissidia for some dumb ass reason, but the voice actors sound very similar. It just now came to me, but I might be updating his fire attack later.   3. So Pots custom style is actually just a mix-up of multiple original styles? Maybe I should just make her do whatever looks natural. I'm not that great when it comes to imagination. Or! Seeing as her sprites aren't that different from the Hibiki I made.....how 'bout another TLR style? Hehehe. Wait, strike that. That was a real pain in the ass to make. Never again....but I am thinking of taking something from a game and attempting to put it into Mugen using Karen. That's all I can think of doing. Like Enslaved. I can make it so once you do a certain amount of attacks, you'll start to glow and you'll be able to release a super attack. I liked Karin because she seemed tsundere due to her spoiled personality and tsunderes are fun.
  4. Rozalin was a slayer of Overlords. She was tired of all the betrayal, the death and the killing so she began to hate everyone and everything. The game didn't actually explain everything that happened, but I think the fake Zenon erased her memories of being a murderer/evil somehow or just locked them away and whatever was left of her memories became the Rozalin that was in Disgaea 2. In the end, she remembers everything; the hatred towards everything. Then Adell showed her love. My point is that she's a legendary overlord full of so much hatred and power that her presence would probably have you wanting to kill yourself. A slayer of overlords. The overlord of overlords. Zetta and Baal have nothing on her. By the way, Adell is too much of a human at heart for it to be noticed, but when Rozalin's evil spirit possesses Adell, his true colors show and he's just....monstrous. He's even more evil than Rozalin. Disgaea 2 definitely has the strongest in the entire Disgaea franchise....so far. By the way. Do you plan on adding other weapon techniques or just sword ones? Some of the axe techniques were crazy awesome. Edit: You're not a bad coder. You're just a beginner. I've been at it for years and I'm still learning. That's mainly because I never read the documents. There was too much reading involved so I said fuck it. I just learned from screwing around.

  6. I'm slowly working on Lambda and Lucy... I just decided that I need to make at least one of these SF/KoF/Whatever she is characters. I'm not sure how to make her, though. I can't go for accuracy because, I've never played the game shes in or any other games related. She'll have specials and supers, but would she be worth making even if she has a custom gameplay? Anyone think I can make a great Karin with my own style of gameplay (which I'm still trying to come up with...)? Any ideas?

I think it will look much more epic. But instead of it landing you could make it explode. Edit: For those curious. Laharl is technically the strongest Overlord, but Disgaea has many worlds with even more powerful overlords. Take Rozalin for example. She's an ancient Overlord and probably the strongest in the entire Disgaea franchise. Anyways, Laharl became Overlord because his father died choking on a dinner roll or something. His signature move is Meteor Impact. He summons a giant meteor, jumps on it and laughs maniacally while it comes flying down to crush everything in it's path pretty much. The Hyper Dimension attack is the strongest sword technique you can learn in the game. It's not one of Laharl's signature techniques like Meteor Impact or Overlords Wrath. Anyone with a sword in the game can learn it. It's also not nearly as strong as Meteor Impact or Overlords Wrath. Overlord's Wrath is, if I'm not mistaken, Laharl's strongest move. He uses it in Disgaea 2 to destroy the world if you beat him without Flonne in your party....or something like that. It's been years since I've played either. Also, Disgaea 2 is by far the best one in my opinion. Adell is incredibly badass and Rozalin is very cool and quite funny. It had great romance story.
  8. I definitely will. I was kind of turned off by the idea at first, but this is the first character I've ever made that someones said was amazing and that's all I'm actually after....making stuff people think is amazing.
  9. UPDATED June 03rd 6:59 PM EST Full update in the Read Me text file. New video for update. Z2 Gameplay means he was based off of Goku's Z2 a lot. It's not 100% the same. Otherwise there would be nothing worth checking out. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's me again with another not so large character (despite it's ridiculous byte size.) Natsu Dragneel & Happy from Fairy Tail DS. A double-team character. You can choose whether or not to have Happy fight with you in the beginning of every round (because this helper is still somewhat of a beta and it can cause other helpers and explods to look very stupid). Choosing whether or not to use Happy is a bigger deal than some might think. If you use him properly, you can easily double your damage output, but without him you'll do basic damage and the aftermath of Phoenix Blade causes a good amount of damage to yourself. And a big thanks to 2OS and Cyanide (from MugenGuild) for all the help they gave me when I needed it.
  10. .....I got bored. She's not as fancy nor is she as smooth as she is in Blazblue, but I'm working on it. She'll get there eventually. She has everything except Gravity Shield (this looked to fucking ugly so I said no), Act Parser, Astral (I doubt this will be added...have you seen the damned sprites used for it?), and all of her mechanics excluding Recover, Instant Block and Barrier. Her current progress took me about 2 weeks. About 2-3 days for each move. Some other days I was just playing some 360, though. Like after I post this. Images are below. She plays at 1280x720 resolution, but can be used in other resolutions. I warn you though, she'll look very fugly. If it lags for someone else in the future, then I can easily fix it so no worries. And yes, I used helpers ONLY when necessary. If you guys are willing, I'd love some help. I have no idea how she plays. I used a tutorial video of Nu. I tried to get it exactly like Lambda's by reading a guide, but it can only help me so much. When she's ready, I'll upload a beta for anyone willing to test and tell me how to make her more accurate, but in the meantime. Someone post a fucking video of her!! I've been asking everywhere for a video of her for years. Literally. Just a basic video of all her attacks and what they do. I can't believe Youtube doesn't have a video of this.... So, that's it.
  11. Update again 3. I swear this has got to be the final update! I fixed every single problem that I found by testing Rouga against other characters! He works perfectly, now! So tired..... Uploading now. Give it a couple minutes before posting "Link isn't working". Updated again 2. Hehe, I just noticed I accidentally had a selfstate to one of my custom states. Youch. It's fixed now. Updated again. Fixed some poweradds and added a couple important things you should know to the "Command Input" image. Ah, I forgot to remove the D from my hitflag. Fixed. Uploading now. Edit: He doesn't use x or y. And z is only used for that on special. It's a, b, & c. = ) Edit Again: Dammit it all. I forgot to mention that I made the grapples "absorb" life. It just gives you life. The first one is really hard to get in, so it gives you about 130 hp and 200 power, but the enemy also gets 200 power. The second one gives you 50 hp, has a 50% chance to stun the enemy for 4-5 seconds and gives the enemy 100 power...or maybe you both get 10 power. Doesn't matter. Now you know. The reason they're hard to get in is because they're meant for opponents that are down.
  12. A custom made Rouga Zanma by me. I didn't have any videos to go off of so I just went with my instinct. It wasn't until later that I found videos and noticed how my gameplay is actually similar to BBB. The custom bars and burst/penalty text were a pain in the ass. The vars wouldn't work right until I realized I was being dyslexic. Burst was also just as difficult. Thanks to 2OS and Cyanide for the help. You mean it actually disables their specials for a bit, or you do you mean it's like this... special 1 > special 3 > special 2 > special 3 CANNOT DO special 1 > special 3 > special 2 < special 4 CAN DO Well, the powercost of my attacks is high enough and the combo penalty for specials kicks in a lot faster than my regular attacks, so it's not spammable. Also, after fighting my AI, I've decided that the damage is not to low, but I am going to make a burst to prevent getting the shit beat out of you, because even if you aren't taking damage thanks to the penalty, you still can't stop getting hit....then again, I could make my AI less aggressive. I'll do both. Anyways, I'll also try to remove any irritating infinite's.
  14. Actually, from what I've seen, BBB is a pretty big combo type of game. But, if I removed the D from my medium low kicks hitflag, you'll pretty much crush the main combo chain. I'm not saying it would ruin him, but it would get rid of a lot of infinites.... Actually, I'm gonna test that out right now.
  15. Uploaded a new preview. in the first post. He has sounds, effects, intro, win, lose, and taunt animations, either all of his attacks or most of his attacks (not sure if I should add more), a charge, and a combo penalty. For the combo penalty, I don't know if I should just disable attacks until player 2 can move again or slowly cut the damage in half for every hit. Also, does anyone think I should lower his damage? Considering his large combo capability, even with the penalty he still does a lot. Then again, most large game characters could finish a battle in one/two successful combo(s) if done right. So, should he do MORE?

  18. Note that I've never actually made a character for 1.0. I realized this last week and decided I had to make one before I....quit. Yeah, I say this a lot, but whatever. I never have anyhting else to do so I keep coming back to Mugen. Leave me alone. Anyways, it's Rouga Zanma from Big Beat Bang. I had no reference whatsoever to make him, so he's also my first custom 1.0 character (Hibiki was originally for WinMugen). His main aspect is going to be wall bouncing. He chains combos by bouncing the enemies off of walls. He has a damage dampener to prevent damager after a good 20-25 hits. As you can see in this video, he has infinite combos which will be way to difficult to fix, so I threw the dampener in. Then again, I could do a basic "add a var everytime I use an attacking state and stop myself from being able to attack after I hit a certain var" coding. Anyone think that's a good idea? Anyways, post your opinion. I had to get a new recorder because Fraps was being shit. The best I could find was HyperCam. Unfortunately, it lagged with Mugen's resolution at 1280x720, so I changed it to 640x480.   20. I've been going back and forth on whether or not I can make a good Odin because his sprites were fugly and lacking a lot of movement, but I just went for it. I didn't stick with the style of Tales. He would of been extremely boring had I stuck with the Tales style, but to be honest all of his moves were inspired by the artes from the Tales series. Just take the regular artes and imagine them being used by a god. Thats what I did.   21. I can't believe this, but I forgot an important fvar in ALL of my Tales characters. Lol. I'm only fixing Cless and my current WIP though because it doesn't really affect the characters despite being so important.

  23. 1.0 will be released eventually. I did a preview video instead of an AI fight because I didn't have his AI finished at the time. Here's his read-me file... "I'm not 100% sure, but this might be my last character. Or at least one of my last. So I did my best with Cress and in my opinion he is my best Tales character yet. Also, I've decided to discontinue Lambda. I basically don't have the time. She's taking too long." I'm also not very confident I can even do a great Lambda. I know I don't have the skills, I don't even have a video of her attacks, I don't know what sounds she makes in intros, loss, attacking, etc...it's just not possible. I was really excited about making her, but oh well. As for the stage. I just needed to have made at least one Phantasia Stage. It's not the best...then again, none of my stages are, but whatever.
