OroCrimson reacted to scristopher in Infinite Legacy X Screenpack for IKEMEN Go (HD 1280 x 720) by OroCrimson (UPDATED JANUARY 2025)
Totally love this screen pack, the work put into the grid system is just amazing.
I used it a lot in my mod development for adding search/filter, character pages and tile resizing, the amount of effort put into this screenpack is quite immense and one can not state enough that it is just perfection.

OroCrimson got a reaction from aldrinho in IKEMEN Generations Screenpack for IKEMEN Go 0.99 (HD 1280 x 720) by OroCrimson (Updated 3/07/2023)
Warning: This Screenpack only works with IKEMEN Go version 0.99 set up with a 16:9 resolution! This is not designed to work on MUGEN.
I said I'd do it 4 months ago and I finally got around to it. This is a remaster of my MUGEN Generations screenpack, but for IKEMEN. While I kept the core simplistic design of the original, I wanted to correct what I considered to be some egregious errors as well as create all new health bars that look a lot more polished than the original, and take advantage of a lot of IKEMEN Go's additional features. Most especially, I wanted to let the user install this cleanly rather than providing it with a full MUGEN install like I did before.
Features:
-A category-based screenpack, something I haven't seen for IKEMEN yet.
-Literally infinite character slots, believe it or not.
-Unlike MUGEN category-based select screens, it doesn't rely on an "invisible grid" that makes switching categories confusing.
-Really cool custom made lifebars based on KOF 2002
-Support for IKEMEN's additional features and modes.
Known jank:
This screenpack uses IKEMEN's shared slot feature to allow for infinite character slots. This does create a few eccentricities not found in the MUGEN version however:
-When toggling through characters in a category, it'll change that slot for both players. It's best for both players not to browse the same category at the same time.
-When returning to the character select screen, rather than the cursor remembering what character you last chose, it'll instead be on the first character of the category you chose.
-There is no sound effect when switching between characters in the same category.
There is nothing I can do to fix these issues, as that's just how the engine works with this feature at this time.
WARNING: The select.def used is located under data/ikegen/select.def. Do not use data/select.def, it won't work. Read the instructions in data/ikegen/select.def for how to add characters in the unique way this screenpack requires.
Update 1.0.2 - Updated for 0.99. That's the only change. If you're using 0.98.2, stick to version 1.0.1 (Found on AK1).
Update 1.0.1 - Fixed a pretty big bug, regarding the options menu. In version 1.0, scrolling down a long options list like in Game Options would cause the VS logo to appear in the top right of the menu. I realized I missed a component for that menu and have adjusted accordingly. Now small arrows appear when the list is bigger than what's on screen. If you're updating from version 1.0, you only need to replace system.def.

OroCrimson reacted to Emaserranista in Marvel Comics Collection
Thank for the patience guys, I've been busy with a lot of things so I procrastinated a bit with this particular collection although I kept updating it from time to time in the background.
As you may have already noticed I merged both Marvel and Marvel vs Capcom within a new collection which is (I think) much better organised than this one.
The new one also includes stages although consider that specific section as a WIP for now.
Pending links for characters as well with other things added now, use this link from now on:

OroCrimson got a reaction from Gremious in Mugen Generations Screenpack 1.0 Ver
So fun fact, the IKEMEN version is a little different. Instead of having 5700 hidden slots, it only has 15, including RandomSelect. That's why it can run so well in IKEMEN Go.
IKEMEN adds a new feature MUGEN doesn't have called "shared slots", which lets multiple characters share the same slot and you can toggle them with a button press. A theoretically infinite amount of characters can share the same slot, and it only renders the one that's currently selected so it doesn't tax the engine.
So I just set the buttons to toggle the slot character to Left and Right, and a theoretically infinite amount of characters can fit in each category. I haven't really tested it with extremely massive character lists yet, but in theory this would run even better than MUGEN when getting into absurdly high roster counts.

OroCrimson got a reaction from ・yoonybin・ in IKEMEN Generations Screenpack for IKEMEN Go 0.99 (HD 1280 x 720) by OroCrimson (Updated 3/07/2023)
Okay I've finished my tests. 125 characters in category 1, 16 characters in category 2, 159 characters in category 3, and a few stray ones in categories thereafter.
All of the characters were available fine. 159 characters were able to share the Darkstalkers slot, 125 characters in the street fighter slot, with nothing missing. Certainly not stopping as short as 28.
So I'm afraid the issue is user error. Either one of your characters are invalid (they wouldn't appear in a normal roster either, and as such break the rest of the slot they're in)
or you're using an unsupported version of IKEMEN Go (If Nightly put a hard limit on slot sharing, there's nothing I can do.)
Tested In versions 0.98.2 and 0.99, both work as expected.

OroCrimson got a reaction from ・yoonybin・ in IKEMEN Generations Screenpack for IKEMEN Go 0.99 (HD 1280 x 720) by OroCrimson (Updated 3/07/2023)
Let me investigate this. I think it should be infinite, iirc I confirmed it with the IKEMEN Go devs prior to releasing it with such claims.
But I don't think I tested it properly with really large rosters in one slot. 28 still seems low even for my tests though. But it's been a while.
Note if you're using a later version of IKEMEN Go, like the Nightly release, I can't guarantee compatibility. This is only supported for certain on IKEMEN Go 0.99. Later versions of the engine might break things or put a limit on how many characters can share a slot.
Anyway I'm copying my biggest roster over and will do some tests (using 0.99) to see if I can recreate this issue.
In the meantime, I also remember that slot characters can break if any of them in the chain are invalid for some reason. If any character wouldn't show up in the roster normally for whatever reason (invalid name, path, or something else), then it can wreck the whole slot past that point (weird wonky character order or controls, missing further characters down the line, getting stuck in the chain no longer able to change characters in that slot, or stopping the chain entirely.) So checking which character is first missing in that slot can sometimes help troubleshoot the problem.
Assuming of course it's not a hard limit on the engine that surprisingly no one ran into until now. If I run into the problem as well with a known good roster then we got a big problem and that really sucks.

OroCrimson got a reaction from Kasasagi in Infinite Legacy X Screenpack for IKEMEN Go (HD 1280 x 720) by OroCrimson (UPDATED JANUARY 2025)
Warning: This screenpack is designed to work on the Nightly build of IkemenGO that released on January 22nd 2025.
If you still need to use an older version, you can download it from AK1.
Newer Nightly releases are not guaranteed.
NEW UPDATE: January 24th 2025, check out the update section.
I'm back with another screenpack for IKEMEN Go! This is my favorite to date. I felt inspired by the aesthetic of 90s Capcom fighting games, and wanted to encapsulate that in a screenpack for my personal IKEMEN compilation. I also wanted to make something new using the techniques I learned from editing Devon's CVS Black screenpack (into Infinite Legacy for IKEMEN). Thus, Infinite Legacy X was born!
Features:
Uses standard MUGEN portraits for ease of use. Several different slot options for different size rosters. Supports IKEMEN features such as combo and tag toast messages, 3v3 and 4v4 battles, ratio battles, and tag battles. Comes with the option to use PotS's active tag system (had to include it as the tag toast message is part of the tag.zss).
Previews:
Update 1.1.2:
Updated to use with Ikemen nightly, as of the January 22nd 2025 build. Maintenance for Nightly builds are not ensured. Nightly releases are volatile and updates can break at any time.
This is simply a compatibility update. No reason to update if you're still using the stable 0.99 release.
4/1/2023 Patch:
UPDATE 1.1.1:
IKEMEN Go 0.99's second release candidate just released. It required some updates to certain files, especially regarding POTS active tag system.
This is simply a compatibility update. No reason to update unless you're using IKEMEN Go 0.99 RC2 or newer.
UPDATE 1.1:
IKEMEN Go 0.99's first release candidate just released. Time for me to update my screenpacks.
Updated for use in IKEMEN 0.99. Adds 3 new slot options (25, 185, 916). Uses IKEMEN's new cell.skip feature to no longer require BLANK slots in the select.def. Added new announcer and fight animation, you can choose which one to use during install. Made this snazzy trailer:

OroCrimson got a reaction from 8-BitBird in Capcom vs SNK HD Black Edition for IKEMEN GO (HD 1280 x 720) (0.99) (Updated 05/03/2024)
NOT MADE FOR MUGEN
This may work in MUGEN 1.1, I haven't tested it, but it's designed for IKEMEN's full suite of features.
This was designed for v0.99 of IKEMEN Go specifically. Depending on changes to the engine, various features may not work as intended in other versions of IKEMEN. Your mileage may vary.
This is an edit/port of the Capcom vs SNK HD: Black Edition screenpack by President Devon.
It has been edited to port to IKEMEN and support IKEMEN's additional features. It also has a changed logo and removed references to Capcom vs SNK, as I wanted a more generic name that can be used to make anything and not be boxed into Capcom vs SNK projects. The original name and logo has been restored, with an alternate sff included if you want to use the Infinite Legacy name and logo instead.
The lifebars are the Z-S Lifebar by ZIRU-STYLE. They were modified to incorporate IKEMEN's featureset in xcheatdeath's SVCSomething screenpack. They have been further modified by me to fit a widescreen game, add support for the Ratio system, and some small personal aesthetic and audio touches.
There are 4 select screen slot varieties. 120 slots, 204 slots (default), 492 slots, or 840 slots.
Images:
This is a 1280x720 screenpack.
Please set your resolution to 1280x720 or higher, at a 16:9 resolution for the graphics to be positioned properly.
Installation
Place the data and external folders in your Ikemen build.
Edit the save/config.json file, and set "Motif" to "data/cvsbe/system.def" and save.
(If you do not have a save/config.json file, launch IKEMEN once and it should generate one for you.)
If you want the Infinite Legacy logo instead, rename inf.sff to system.sff and put it in the cvsbe folder.
Updated to v1.0.1 - Fixes some mistakes with the messages in the screenpack and some alignment issues. Now includes a 492 slot def for those who want more than the default 120 slots.
Updated to 1.0.2 - 120 slot def in 1.0.1 was broken, that's corrected now. Added "wide" roster options, bumping up the names so to make room for more slots. Now includes 204 and 840 slot wide roster defs.
1.0.3
Updated for IKEMEN 0.98.2
If you're still using 0.98.1, please use version 1.0.2. This is available on AK1.
Includes modules for Boss Rush (now external in IKEMEN 0.98.2) and VS 100 Kumite modes
Wide slot system.def files in 1.0.2 had an incorrect placement for P2's starting slot, this has been corrected.
Red health now displays properly in Tag Mode.
1.0.4
Updated to use Devon's Capcom vs SNK HD Black Edition title and logo by default. Includes an alternate sff file if you want to use Infinite Legacy instead.
1.0.5
Updated for use in IKEMEN Go 0.99. No new features. If you're still using IKEMEN Go 0.98.2, use v1.0.4 instead (found on AK1).
1.0.6
For whatever reason, the SFF file was not loading correctly in 1.0.5 or 1.0.4 and someone only reported it 8 months later. I've fixed that, as well as the FIGHT announcer playing early. Should work correctly in 0.99 RC3.
1.0.7
I somehow forgot to update the slots def options to 0.99? So they were broken if you tried to use them. (Particularly with team menus.) This has been fixed now.

Oh huh, I missed a lot of new replies to this post for some reason. I need to check in more often.
---
That is super bizarre. I hope you managed to fix this. I'm not sure why a screenpack would affect a character, but I suspect whatever did is related to the older action.zss or POTS tag files included with the screenpack, as those are the only things I can think of that affect character behavior. I included them so I could change the text/aesthetics for those things, but they probably are in need of an update so I should work on that.
---
Ah yeah, Discord cracked down on direct links to files. 😞
FWIW, you can still download it if you copy the link and paste it into Discord first. Discord just wants you to access the link from their client, then it'll download fine.
This was an April Fool's gag, runs abysmally bad, and isn't being updated so only works correctly on v0.99. So I wouldn't really recommend it anyway. But the option is there if you want to try it.
---
Unfortunately I have no plans to work on MUGEN versions. My screenpack uses some IKEMEN GO exclusive features and imho IKEMEN GO is the next evolution of MUGEN and where my focus lies. I don't really intend on going back to standard MUGEN. I give permission to anyone who wants to backport my work for MUGEN (or any other modifications of my work to be honest), just be sure to credit me.

This sounds like a possible bug with IKEMEN. You should ask about it in the IKEMEN discord's help channel.
VSelect is outdated as it has not been updated since the release of IKEMEN Go and does not support IKEMEN Go's new features, including Cell Skip which this screenpack uses. You can't use vselect with this.

OroCrimson reacted to RicePigeon in Re: Status Updates
After a discussion among the staff here at MFFA, we have made the decision to permanently remove the ability to post status updates for all users, effective immediately. It should be noted that there is no single action or event that prompted this decision, and rather, there are multiple contributing factors that have become more apparent over time, all of which can be categorized as an abuse of the status updates function. From our observation, the majority of status updates fell into one of four categories: requesting content outside of the requests area, personal attacks/insults, self-promotion, and detracting forum activity.
1.) Requesting Content Outside of the Requests Area
This is an issue that has become more frequent as of recent. For the longest time, MFFA has had a rule in place not to request content outside of the Request section of the forums, and status updates are no exception. Despite our best efforts to curb this behavior, status updates continued to be the go-to for this type of activity.
2.) Personal Attacks/Insults
While personal attacks and/or insults are already prohibited under our forum rules, it seemed that the system of choice for getting these attacks across was through the use of status updates.
3.) Self-promotion
Rather than using the respective forums for releases and videos, many users opted to drop download links and/or youtube videos of their creations in status updates.
4.) Activity Detraction
This last issue encompasses the previous three issues and is perhaps the biggest of the fours issues so far: status updates detract activity from other areas of the forum. Rather than using the forum for its intented purpose, the majority of activity on the forum was a result of people abusing the status updates functionality as if it were a dumping ground for everything akin to a social media platform, rendering the rest of the forums pointless.
For these reasons, we have made the decision to remove the ability to post and view status updates for all users, effective immediately

I'm not sure why a screenpack would cause this error... Does it give an error message when it crashes?
That's admittedly something I hadn't tested. I don't have enough bonus games to make it scroll and don't think I have any menu scrolling elsewhere in the screenpack. I'll need to experiment with this later but it'll probably be some time before I do, sorry.

Hi people, as a creator I feel it's my obligation to let you know about this here as I did in Guild. Here's the long story but let me shorten you for effects of this thread: Noneless than Interplay sent me a Cease and Desist mail to stop and delete all the content related to my MUGEN fullgame "ClayFighter: Infinite Clayfare". It was originally sent in July but I just saw it past week, and got terrified about it.
I asked for help in Guild and they helped me to make an answer mail where I clarify this is a non-profit fangame and what I did is a fanart, and if they don't want to get reasons, then I won't continue and I'll comply what they said. But yesterday got their official answer, and it was basically "a game barely can be considered as 'fanart', so delete it anyway." And sadly, that's what I'll have to do, nothing do to against a videogame company.
In the thread I posted the original mail with the C&D, which eventually was leaked from the forum and posted on Twitter, which also spawned some news about it, but that wasn't enough. Eventually my reply and the second answer I uploaded them in my IC Twitter account, so everyone knows about this but posted by me instead to be leaked again.
And with these words, Infinite Clayfare ends... I'm retooling my site to delete the references and the downloads (included the thread I made here in Video Sharing subforum and marked it as red in CF collection). My chars won't be deleted, but now they won't be in the spot again, trying to get below the radar until the seas are calmed. I want to thank to all who liked and supported my game, I appreciate you all, as well all the good messages on Twitter, Discord or forums, it means a lot to me.
Basara out...

I don't even know where to begin....
The one thing I am upset with is the deletion of your Incident Zero project (I was looking forward to) and the fact you see using sprites as theft. It's ONLY theft if you took/charged money for your work. Mugen is generally free so how is a fan project that is free theft or cost any company money? It doesn't.
I am sad/upset with your line of thinking. I can tell you are having some sort of life crisis, and I know making sound decisions in that head space is a hard thing to do. However the choice you made seems like a permanent one with you deleting all your projects and other "pirated" stuff. So with that, I wish you well in your life, but I hope you don't start moral posting about other people's mugen projects with talking points about theft or morality of using sprites or music.
As a Touhou and Mugen fan I am extremely disappointed to see this post and the reasons behind the decision....
