I know the MUGEN scene isn't as active as 10 years ago but also somewhat surprised we haven't seen someone take a stab at Vecna. Also tons of franchises out there beyond KOF, Street Fighter, Marvel, and DC. Surprised there isn't more Star Wars content, at least good content.

My list is very long and grows longer with each day, but there are definitely a few consistent picks of mine that I've thought about making myself over and over.

 

- Any of the Sailor Star Lights from Sailor Moon, though I imagine Star Fighter would be the easiest to make. I assume no-one has tried their hand at making any of them because they'd have to basically be entirely custom-sprited.

- On that note, more Sailor Moon villains post-the Black Moon arc. I figure it'd probably be pretty hard to make fully fleshed-out movesets for most of them but the Shadow Galactica arc has a few pretty good ones, and admittedly I think it'd be really funny if someone made an Eudial with a last-ditch desperation super a la T_N's David Bell based on when Mimete sabotages her car and she veers off the highway.

 

- Would love to see someone try their hand at a Psychic Force 2012 character or two, even if they're not source-accurate in the slightest. I figure characters like Burn or Might would translate pretty well to 2D, but I'm greedy, and would want to see Emilio or a (non-Suika) Gudeath.

 

- Ninja Tottori from Papuwa-kun, entirely because his "throwing his shoe at a cloud and having whatever weather phenomena is written on it when it hits the ground happen" gimmick is hilarious and I'd love to see how it would work in a fighting game scenario. Having whatever gets rolled affect everyone on the playing field (himself included) would be manga-accurate, too, which would be even funnier...

 

- I really love re5t's Hikaru, and would love to see some more Angelic Layer characters. My personal picks are Lanka, Shirahime, or Athena, but I think a manga-accurate Wizard would be an immaculate April Fools' release.

 

That's all I can think of for now, though I'm sure there's definitely more... those are for another eventual post.
