Help with colorloss related shenanigans
Demitri replied to Neo_Fire_Sonic's question in [ MUGEN CODING HELP ]
Mugen displays certain colors very weird, dark blue being one of them. Even if you add the sprite and it has no colorloss in the sff, it'll still display wrong in mugen. I haven't tested how those work with 32-bit sprites, so that could be the solution. Your other alternative is dithering but that can help only but so much. -
GM'S lifebars. Seph recently converted them to 1.0.

Yes. I guess he inspected the email better and found too many errors and the email itself seemed suspicious (used yahoo even though they are a big company.) -
Is Clayton still active? (Haven't talked to him in ages and want to ask some stuff). Cool to see this in public hands.

Ecole Software Taking Action On Melty Blood MUGEN Creators
Demitri replied to Dissidia's topic in [ MUGEN LOUNGE ]
It just seems dumb for a few reasons. No one is making a profit. Melty Blood has been around FOREVER and there hasn't been a problem with the use of the sprites before. Is Mugen where they want to focus their energy on? shouldnt they actually be targeting people who pirate their games? I know it's their choice and all, but it is stupid to focus on mugen creators. I completely understand if they don't UNIB stuff being ripped but Melty Blood related works/authors shouldn't be a problem nor a target. -

I'm honestly not sure. I mean I THINK they would have to message Ryon, like I don't think they could shut the site down immediately. It would have to be like a warning first then i guess then they could pursue action. Also, i can't tell from the post since the translation is bad but either sennou-room took his site down or he was forced to due to Ecole. -
Neither did I. Technically, there is no such thing as 32-bit coding. It's the same coding as 1.0, 32 refers to the graphics used. Mugen usually is limited to 8-bit indexed sprites, 1.1 is not. Maybe we're saying the same thing and don't know it. It's just the way you're writing it isn't making sense. Yes, you can have mugen display the same graphics in 1.0 and code it for 1.0, but the graphics are still a big factor. 32-bit graphics/1.1 allows you to use certain things that are limited with 1.0. You can't create the exact same look without making more sprites and using alpha and sub transparency. There are ways around that using alpha transparency, but then depending on the stage, you'll end up creating a lagfest for people with lower end pc's. Especially in this case. The stage could be made without the alpha trans, but it won't look as nice and it'll take longer. You'll have to deal with beating the colorloss with jigsawing (you could RGB but people will complain about the white bg during supers), you would have to index every anim in this stage, and the edges would be more jagged on everything. The presentation wouldn't be as nice. So yes, it can be done, but it really isn't worth the effort for people who don't need to do it. If someone wants the stage in 1.0 bad enough, they can learn how to do it on their own. With Websta's version available, they don't even need to do as much work since alignment is basically done. It just comes down to colorloss and indexing really.

Daemon Bride Stages and cv2 julia from the shadaloo dolls , etc

which Juli are you looking for? a few people have made her. -
you're still wording it wrong lol 32-bit refers to graphics, not coding. With enough effort, the graphical part can be done in 1.0, but even then, the engine has a tendency to display certain colors in a weird way (i don't believe it would happen in this case). The effort for a 1.0 version of this is just a bit much, is all. This is an annoying stage to make haha In other words, it's not impossible, just a lot of work.

No, keeping the files available once this passes. I'm sure this won't last forever since mugen really isnt worth the effort(no one makes money off of this). Hosting on the server would be a bad idea because then the ACTUAL website could be at risk of termination (i.e. bye bye mffa or other sites over hosting a file and making it avaiable for others). I can't fathom Ecole's reasoning other than UNIB or a possible HD MB game in the works, but it is what it is. -
