  1. (I borked the quote :p) Alright, those work. Remind me to redo the post to reflect the stat changes once I'm not in class. Logic would dictate that Strong Jaw boosts Hyper Fang, but I wouldn't know. Does anything with Strong Jaw normally learn Hyper Fang?
  2. Alright. I could always reduce the speed, though what stat(s) to change to compensate would be something I'm not sure of. I might (for now) go the route of Mega Alakazam and make the mega evo have +90 instead +100. Also, didn't know about that point of Hurricane (why does it do that, anyway?). Then again, most stuff can be easily dealt with with Fire Blast/Flamethrower or Solar Beam, and Moltres does get Extrasensory and Ancientpower if one really wants that coverage. A speed reduction for Moltres to 110 would have the side effect of Thundurus possibly outspeeding Moltres. It would depend on what natures and specific EVs are dedicated.
  3. + = (Art credit: http://www.deviantart.com/browse/undiscovered/#/art/Mega-Moltres-463278527?hf=1) Standard stats: 90/100/90/125/85/90 Mega stats: 90/140/110/155/85/100 Mega Ability: Drought As a complement to Mega Articuno's possession of Snow Warning, Mega Moltres gains Drought, similar to Mega Charizard Y. Similar to Mega Articuno, Mega Moltres has increased physical defense and speed. Unlike Mega Articuno, however, both of it's attack stats are increased, while special defense remains the same. Mega Moltres possesses a good list of special attacks, among them Fire Blast, Solarbeam, Flamethrower, Hurricane, Extrasensory, and Ancient Power. He also possesses an okay physical moveset, including Steel Wing, Return, and U-Turn. Some calcs, just because. 252+ SpA Mega Moltres Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Mega Metagross in Sun: 620-732 (170.3 - 201%) -- guaranteed OHKO 252+ SpA Mega Moltres Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Gardevoir in Sun: 261-307 (94.2 - 110.8%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO vs. 232 SpA Pixilate Mega Gardevoir Hyper Voice vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Moltres: 144-170 (44.8 - 52.9%) -- 28.1% chance to 2HKO. They both have 100 Base Speed, so it relies more on Nature and EVs. 252+ SpA Mega Moltres Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Normal Landorkus in Sun: 406-478 (127.2 - 149.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO. Landorus' speed is very slightly higher than Mega Moltres', at 101 vs. 100. Depending on how Landorus' EVs are assigned, or if he has a Choice Scarf, Mega Moltres can outspeed Landorkus and OHKO with either Fire Blast or Solar Beam... or get outsped and possibly die to Stone Edge. 252+ SpA Mega Moltres Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-T in Sun: 406-478 (106.2 - 125.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO. With this matchup, Mega Moltres has a lot less to worry about speedwise. Still, if Landorus is given Choice Scarf, then he outspeeds and oneshots with Rock coverage. 252+ SpA Mega Moltres Solar Beam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Gyarados: 260-308 (78.5 - 93%) -- guaranteed 2HKO vs. 252+ Atk Mold Breaker Mega Gyarados Waterfall vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Moltres in Sun: 150-176 (46.7 - 54.8%) -- 56.6% chance to 2HKO. Mega Moltres outspeeds and can 2HKO. Even if Mega Gyarados takes a turn to set up with Dragn Dance, he still only 2HKOs. 252+ SpA Mega Moltres Solar Beam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Rotom-W: 310-366 (101.9 - 120.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO. 252+ SpA Mega Moltres Fire Blast vs. 28 HP / 80 SpD Gengar in Sun: 387-456 (144.4 - 170.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO 252 Atk Mega Moltres U-turn vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Latios: 162-192 (53.8 - 63.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock. It'll also 2HKO Mega Latias and the unmegaed forms. On the other hand, Moltres gets outsped by the Latis, Megaed or otherwise. Still, if the Latis decide to set up instead of attack, they can take some serious damage. While Moltres can hit hard against a variety of Pokemon, he doesn't have the largest variety of moves. Charizard has a wider variety of moves, especially physical. Mega Charizard X has Fire/Dragon, for example, and a much wider variety of physical moves. While Mega Moltres has a physical moveset, it's not a very large one. Still, it can be used in that regard, especially on a Voltturn team. In addition, Moltres has never been a defensive pokemon, and the drops to its defensive stats make it very vulnerable if his opponent survives. If, say, Mega Gyarados comes packing Aqua Jet, then Mega Moltres is likely to fall. In addition, Greninja and Mega Aerodactyl still outspeed and OHKO with Water and Rock STAB moves. Mega Latias and Latios are outsped by Mega Moltres, but Moltres can't OHKO them, while the Latis can OHKO with Thunder. Aqua Jet coming off of a decent attacker will most likely OHKO, and Extremespeed can some severe damage. ... so, how is it?
  4. Against a Mega Machamp, prediction would become even more important. If a user of Mega Machamp can't predict an enemies switches, he could end up a complete non-factor as perhaps a Stone Edge that'd KO a Mega Articuno for example would be useless against a Scizor. This would add to the list of reasons to use Sableye and Spiritomb as well. In the hands of a good player, Mega Machamp is a great pokemon. But if the user isn't good, Mega Machamp ends up being little more than a glorified sponge.
  5. Good luck. Maki and Wonder Woman can be very annoying to face. Unrelated:
  6. Well. That happened. I suppose AG will live up to it's name, with entire teams put to sleep, Lock-on + Fissure being a thing, and so on. It could either be really interesting to watch or quite boring.
  7. Back on topic...
  8. Here I am, doing the most recent Mugen Lord challenge.
  9. Messing around.
  10. Does it reduce the file size? Because it was pretty gigantic.
  11. I'd imagine that most MegaQuaza's would carry Earthquake or Stone Edge for coverage purposes. There's also Outrage instead of Draco Meteor if you want to use an absolute physical attacker, though then it'd be checked somewhat by strong physical defenders. And there's Extremespeed for priority and Shadow Claw for ghosts and phychics. There's also the Choice Scarf for speed purposes.
  12. Hmph, all these sorcerers with their fancy clothes and nicknacks, back in my day, all we got was a black cloak and a big ol' stick, and we liked it!
  13. For Thanksgiving.
  14. Not to mention Rayquaza can learn EQ and Surf, as well as Gyro Ball for some reason. It seems like MegaQuaza will basically always take someone out. Maybe Fairy and Ice Arceus will see more use, since they outspeed. Though how well they can weather a hit from him, I'm not sure.
  15. Is that S rank Rayquaza I smell?
  16. Some more calcs, using +1 Swords Dance. +2 252+ Atk Tough Claws Mega Feraligatr Ice Punch vs. 252 HP / 88+ Def Ferrothorn: 174-205 (49.4 - 58.2%) -- 64.5% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery +2 252+ Atk Tough Claws Feraligatr Waterfall vs. 4 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Chansey: 546-643 (85 - 100.1%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO And one with +1 Dragon Dance. +1 252+ Atk Feraligatr Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Charizard X: 354-418 (119.1 - 140.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO +1 252+ Atk Tough Claws Feraligatr Ice Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Multiscale Dragonite: 404-476 (125 - 147.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO Edit: 252+ Atk Tough Claws Mega Charizard X Dragon Claw vs. 0 HP / 252+ Def Feraligatr: 109-129 (35 - 41.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO (2HKO if Rocks are on field)
  17. Well, it's a beta.
  18. If the author does update and fix the problems present, s/he'll get some respect from me.
  19. Yep, though I really think the original post needs some reformating (since a forum update a while ago borked it.) Unrelated, while there's no official mod-enforced rule regarding bumps, it is generally frowned upon to bump threads if it's just to say "nice char".
