Not really, I think he used that 3D stage tool. Ilu talked about it at facebook other day. The program itself converts the objects into sprites doing a parallax effect or something. Hence the 30MB sff file.

make a 3d stage. have your camera pan from left to right. code it using a special "delta" coding. taa daaa. i know the process, but regardless this type of stage is of insane quality.

yeah man he made the one that the demon watches u fight, its fucking awesome .... like its real game quality..... hell ive never seen a stage in a real game i liked better than that one
