Dumanios Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Poor Wobuffet... that thing used to be Uber material, and now he's hit the shitter. Also, Mega Camerupt in NU... I expect he'll raise some more.
Galvatron Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 It figures that mega Lopunny will be OU . I mean its regular form already has good defences and speed when it becomes mega its attack power gets highly-boosted plus scrappy Ability to handle ghost-types like Gengar. :-P MARVEL VS. TOUHOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RicePigeon Posted January 5, 2015 Author Posted January 5, 2015 I would hardly call 65/84/96 defenses good. Mega Lopunny's rise to OU is due to the immense amount of offensive pressure it provides, its great speed tier, ability to run Scrappy Fake Out so it can Mega Evolve safely, and the fact that it pretty much has a free moveslot to run whatever it wants as it really only needs Return and High Jump Kick to hit everything for neutral damage.
RicePigeon Posted January 5, 2015 Author Posted January 5, 2015 Further update; Zygarde and Mega Alakazam have both been banned from UU: Mega Alakazam sits on its perch as one of the most terrifying wallbreakers/revenge killers/sweepers to ever grace UU. It's absolutely mind blowing offensive stats with 175 Special Attack and 150 Speed (making it tied for the fastest UU Pokemon in the tier alongside Mega Aerodactyl) means that this thing is not only hard to switch into but also hard to revenge kill as well. It's combination of moves in Psychic/Psyshock, Focus Blast, Shadow Ball, Dazzling Gleam, Energy Ball and Calm Mind mean that Mega Alakazam can pick and choose the mons it wants to eliminate keeping in mind that just Psychic/Ghost/Fairy coverage hits almost the entire tier for at least neutral damage. Alakazite has finally proven to be too strong for UU and will be returning back to the realms of BL. Zygarde combines absolutely fantastic bulk, typing and move options in order to become one of the most effective sweepers not only through Sub + Coil but also when equipped with Dragon Dance. Zygarde has the potential with just two sets to be able to completely dismantle almost every playstyle, where stall struggles immensely with Sub Coil, while Offense struggles against Dragon Dance due to the bulk that means Pokemon such as Mienshao and Krookodile can't even revenge kill it. If Zygarde manages to get behind a sub or set up a DD, there is almost nothing in the entire metagame that can go toe to toe with this monster, so with that Zygarde is heading to BL.
Dumanios Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Haven't MegaZam and Zygarde shuffled around a bunch of times between UU and BL? And yeah, Alakazam can learn a surprising amount of coverage. I remember teaching him Shock Wave and HP Fighting back in Diamond, though that was for normal gameplay.
RicePigeon Posted January 6, 2015 Author Posted January 6, 2015 Iirc, Mega Zam and Zygarde were allowed back in UU shortly before ORAS was released. At least it wasn't like how it was was Klefki, Staraptor, Smeargle, and Togekiss where they got banned, unbanned, and then banned again all within the span of 2 weeks at most. Yeah, unbannings tend to happen alot more frequently in the lower tiers than they do in OU, and not just because of tier shifts. Though they do play a part sometimes, like how Victini was banned then eventually unbanned, and then banned again once Slowbro moved up to OU.

True. but its defense stats are good enough to take some hits especially if Mega Lopunny knows 'Drain punch" to recover some HP while doing good damage on some pokemon. :-P MARVEL VS. TOUHOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RicePigeon Posted January 6, 2015 Author Posted January 6, 2015 In other tier news, Mega Diancie, Drought, and Drizzle are all getting a suspect test in UU to see if they should be allowed back in or not. Currently all three are banned from every Singles tier except Ubers and OU.
Dumanios Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Well, if Drought and Drizzle get unbanned from UU, then that'd make Politoad and Ninetails relevant. In addition, Mega Swampert's already A- rank, even with Drizzle banned. I imagine he might become a lot more viable. It'd probably also hurt Mega Abomasnow, since there'd now be the presence of instant rain or sun, both of which tend to be better weathers than snow.
RicePigeon Posted January 7, 2015 Author Posted January 7, 2015 Politoed + Kingdra + Kabutops rain teams are pretty threatening in OU as it is, imagine what they can do in UU, especially when all three of these Pokemon are already allowed in UU. I'd imagine they would end up doing a complex ban like what they did in Gen 5 OU where Drizzle and Swift Swim were both legal, but could not be used together on the same team. Drought on the other hand may end up staying, if only because Ninetales is pretty mediocre as it is. The only real threat would be something like Mega Houndoom rising to S rank in UU.
Dumanios Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 ORAS OU Suspect Process, Round 1, Voting Greninja is now Ubers tier. Even though we're still missing a few votes, they would not change the outcome of this Suspect test. Greninja's fate is decided and, in order to favor the Tournaments community, I'm going to anticipate the results of the vote: Number of votes: 249 Ban: 205 Do Not Ban: 44Uber with an 82% majority. For these reasons, Greninja will be moved to Ubers with immediate effect.
