  1. Thank you, this topic should be seeing more activity in the following weeks
  2. Been a long while, did a lot of studying, came back much better
  3. Hello to whoever reads this! I have been away from this site for a while, like, half a year while, but really want to get back in to Mugen in a big way. I want to create an SF3 interpretation of Akira Yuki from Virtua Fighter. So far, i only have one sprite near completion, so i'd like some help with rolling this along. Animation tips, notes about the SF3 Style, frame data would be god like. This is the sprite Note that this isn't final, and it will change, but this is its current state. I like it, but i want to nail the SF3 style before going any further. This is just to show that i kind of have an idea on how it works but i still need improvement. Any help would be much appreciated!
  4. I know that much XD Like is it solely just for fun or is it similar to some of those devkit edition PS2s that were handed out? Like you can create actual games with it? I remember hearing that there was this version of the PS2 that came with software that could be used for the console to make games for it so i'm comparing this to that. I appreiate both of your replies but i still have an unanswered question could you help please if you could? Also fuck me i love that Vegita head bopping GIF XD
  5. Dude, its been a while. Life has happened and haven't been able to make much progress. That doesn't mean its stopped completely, i've redesigned the sprite decently, and have made it in two styles to test the waters. How do these look?
  6. Ok i am really confused about this and the internet shows about as much info on this as DSPs brain cells. So in short, not a lot XD I have no idea what the deal with these are. I use a software called 2D Fighter Maker, so is the PS version just a 3D version of that? If that's the case, can games be created/sold? I wouldn't think so but i don't know. I mean with my software it can so it would kind of make sense. On top of that, would it be possible to emulate that game and then change the files and the like so it can use custom models/sounds etc? Basically hack it? And the Kakuge-Yaro thing, what even is that? From what i can gather, the companies involved are pretty much gone, i can't find a single thing on Outback nor IPC Software, so what does that imply?
  7. I think since i have so little experience, i'll hold off on making my own original character for now. I think i'll start by making a Sean
  8. Basic idle animation Not done or shaded, but the motions are there https://goo.gl/photos/3889FVz1VvXsK1549
  9. It takes a lot of strength to face regret. For that, you have my utmost respect
  10. Thanks dude, noted. At the same time, i'm slightly hesitant. I mean a 'knock off' can be done well to distinct itself from the source. For instance Ryo and Akira. Ryo bears many similarities to Ryu, but i feel he has become his own character who just so happened to be based off of Ryu. From a visual standpoint, Akira is almost copy paste. However many things were done to make him unique. For instance his fighting style is almost nothing like Ryus (btw i intended to give him an original moveset anyway) and he was even expanded upon by the game giving him interests outside of fighting. Granted it was teaching a martial art but still XD I do completely agree on the size aspect though. Creating just one frame takes an eternity, so i think i'll downscale it no matter what. I originally intended to go in a similar direction to Akira truthfully. A 'Don't judge a book by its cover' type deal, have him look similar to Ryu, but having similarities essentially stop there. Due to being proficient in many martial arts myself, i truthfully based some of this character on myself. The design honestly started like 'I find Gis comfortable, mine is blue, i also like sleevless shirts. FUSIONN...HOOOO!' XD I have a ton of ideas for attacks and the like. I do sincerely appreciate the input. Also i just REALLY quickly drew up a rescaled version. No shading, just the outlines
  11. QUICK LIL UPDATE Shading has been improved slightly, and a secondary pallet has been created for him. https://goo.gl/photos/ypE8gurk5ZcDW9ko6 First things first though, Idle animation. Got to get on with that
  12. Really?! Damn thanks dude Much appreciated :) Getting to work on that thank you very much
  13. Greetings forums XD my name is Sandy Morrison. I am currently working on a fighting game, and have made decent progress. However, i think i need some help. I'm cyrrently working on my own original character (Specifically from an art perspective). The character may bear a lot of similarities to Ryu, i assure you that he has been sprited completely by yours truly. No base, no edit, no anything. I created him pixel by pixel, and while he may not completely finished in any way, i believe he is at least good enough to be shown in public XD. I have talked with a bunch of people on MUGEN Archive in order to improve his first sprite, and it has improved MASSIVELY thanks to their help. So, any opinions of frame 1? I'd appreciate the feedback from anyone reading this as i'd really love to hear your thoughts. I have a lot to learn, so it'd be beneficial to hear the opinions of those with more experience than me. Plus i want to get any problems killed early so i don't have to retread old ground if i find something that's massively wrong. Thank you for reading, and please leave your thoughts! https://goo.gl/photos/tGoKs4HP6mvuXa79A
