  1. except you cant transfer Gen 1-2 by any means.

Maybe it was better off not having PokeTransfer. Yes, the idea is probably gonna piss off alot of people, but when you take into account how many Pokemon can get Defog and Stealth Rock from Gen 4, it becomes a mess. And this isnt even taking all the hacked Pokemon into account.

  2. Just a heads up that some people have been giving away 5IV Pokemon that were migrated from Gen 4 & 5 have been reverting back to 1 or no IVs after trade. Either intentional scam or some kind of anti-cheat system (if the latter, its probably checking the PID and egg flags and resetting the IVs based on those values).

  3. Nintendo have announced that they have temporarily removed Pokémon Bank from the Nintendo 3DS eShop. This is following hte massive influx of users on both Nintendo 3DS and Wii U coming on Christmas, plus the addition of Pokémon Bank causing the Nintendo Network to drive to a halt. This means users cannot download it anymore and currently cannot access the features of the game.. It is currently unclear when Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter will return, or if the western release is delayed. They have made it clear that the 30 day trial for previously registered users will restart when it returns. Edit @ 13:14: Pokémon Bank is now listed with a release of TBD (To Be Decided) on the North American and European eShops. We'll bring details on this as soon as we can
    Nintendo's body wasn't ready...
  4. "Legal" hack is still... hack

And I'm not talking about legal stuff like 6 IVs with matching PID, Im talking about blatantly stupid shit like Wonder Guard Spiritomb

A.K.A. "stuff that's so blatantly hacked that you know the Pokemon is hacked just by glancing at its stat screen." A.K.A. "Sacred Fire Dialga tier hacked"

  5. http://tay.kotaku.com/pokebank-hilariously-fails-to-stop-hacked-pokemon-1489449874

    Derp

for those who didnt catch on, Pokebank is already out in japan and the entire GTS is flooded with hacked Pokemon now... And I'm not talking about legal stuff like 6 IVs with matching PID, Im talking about blatantly stupid shit like Wonder Guard Spiritomb (which is pointless now that it has fairy weak).

Oh and for the record, Sacred Fire Entei is legit. it learns it via move relearner.

  6. Fairy types are fine as is. With the exception of MegaMawile, all fairy types have lackluster physical defense, so dragons not named Hydreigon can still wipe the floor with them with their coverage moves. Plus add the still everpresent Scizor and now Aegislash. If any type needs to be nerfed, its ghost. They made it too OP this gen I feel.

Mega Tyranitars with Low Kick are major threat to many Pokemon. Plenty of my Pokemon have Low Kick/Grass Knot. I'm not surprised the none of the Tyranitar in the Maison have Low Kick in their moveset because of the copy/paste from Battle Subway.

Unless that Grass Knot is backed by stab, choice specs, and/or a +2 stat boost, don't expect Grass Knot to be doing much to a Tyranitar during a sandstorm, especially the Assault Vest variants. Physical attacks, fighting type attacks, and Gliscor/Landorus are still the best way to deal with a Tyranitar, even with the Mega form's base 150 defense (though Gliscor/Landorus needs to watch out for Ice Beam variants)

  7. Megas, for the most part, is basically just another option/moveset.

Yes, you have Megas that are outright upgrades that completely outclass their base forms such as MegaMawile, MegaPinsir, MegaLucario, and MegaCharizard X/Y (MegaKangaskhan is the biggest offender of this).

Then you have Megas that serve different purposes from the base form like Mega Heracross and Mega Garchomp, which act as wallbreakers while their base forms act as sweepers. Stuff like Mega Mewtwo X even falls under this category, being a bulky physical sweeper in the same vein as something like Conkeldurr, only much faster and lacking a priority move.

Case in point: Mega Tyranitar. Tyranitar has so many options, and its mega form is only one of them. Ttar can run the classic Choice Band set thats been a threat since Gen 4. Then you have supporter Ttar with Stealth Rock. Gen 6 gave Ttar another option in the form of Assault Vest, further bolstering its special bulk. And then of course, bulky Dragon Dance MegaTtar. And thats not even scratching the surface. Ttar also has a vast offensive movepool consisting of Pursuit, Crunch, Earthquake, Stone Edge, Ice Beam, and Fire Blast. Once Pokebank opens up, you can add Low Kick and Superpower to that list as well.

And then you have Megas that are just... Mega Alakazam tier.

  8. Thats assuming that all 6 stats have max IVs, which Im pretty sure they dont. I found it odd that all three of them had BSTs hovering around 575 instead of 600 like they usually do. Again, its just a rough estimate to give an idea of how their stat distributions are. We won't know for certain until we have more data samples.

If you want to make the assumption that all 6 stats are actually 0 IVs, go ahead and add 31 to each of those numbers I posted, which brings their BSTs up to a whopping 761 BST, which makes no sense for an event Legendary to have and even less sense for things that aren't even Mega Evolutions.

  9. In other news, Pokebeach just leaked some info regarding Diancie, Hoopa, and Volcanion

Diancie is Rock/Fairy, 2’04″, 19.4 lbs. #151. It is known as the Jewel Pokemon. “It can instantly create many diamonds by compressing the carbon in the air between its hands.”
Diancie’s signature move is Diamond Storm, a physical Rock-type attack. A bunch of diamonds are created and thrown at the enemy. “The user whips up a storm of diamonds to damage opposing Pokemon. This may also raise the user’s Defense stat.” It has 100 power and 95% accuracy. Diancie can also learn Moonblast, Safeguard, and Light Screen.
Diancie is not related to Carbink on its Pokedex evolution page. However it could be a Manaphy/Phione situation. Or maybe the diamonds it throws turn into Carbink after a couple million years? :p
At Level 100 with no EV training, Diancie’s stats can be 222/236/300/236/344/135.
Hoopa in Pokemon X and YHoopa is Psychic/Ghost, 1’08″, 19.8 lbs. #152. It is known as the Mischief Pokemon. “It gathers things it likes and pushes them through its loop to teleport them to a secret place.”
Hoopa’s signature move is Hyperspace Hole, a special Psychic-type attack. A dark hole is created in the ground, Hoopa goes through it, then comes out behind the enemy and hits them. “Using a hyperspace hole, the user appears next to the target and strikes. This also hits a target using Protect or Detect.” It’s got 80 power and N/A accuracy. Hoopa can also learn Psychic, Shadow Ball, and Trick Room
At Level 100 with no EV training, Hoopa’s stats can be 301/231/154/315/296/177.
Volcanion in Pokemon X and YVolcanion is Fire/Water, 5’07″, 429.9 lbs. #153. “It expels its internal steam from the arms on its back. It has enough power to blow down a mountain.”
Volcanion’s signature move is Steam Eruption, a special Water-type attack. “The user immerses the target in superheated steam. This may also leave the target with a burn.” It’s got 110 power and 95 accuracy. Volcanion can also learn Flare Blitz, Overheat, and Explosion.
Volcanion is related to the Lumiose City blackouts.
At Level 100 with no EV training, Volcanion’s stats can be 275/254/276/247/235/176.

Considering the stats that were listed and assuming max IVs and neutral natures, rough estimates of their base stats:

    Diancie: 40~41/100/132/100/154/49~50
    Volcanion: 68~69/109/120/105~106/99~100/70
    Hoopa: 80/97~98/59/139~140/130/70~71
  10. Ultimately depends on what you need. If you have problems with dragons, go with Ice Beam. If Ferrothorn is a thorn in your bad puns side, go with Aura Sphere.

Anyways, wondering if I should put that tournament thing in a separate thread.

  11. Only 5 moves are affected by Mega Launcher: Water Pulse, Dark Pulse, Aura Sphere, Dragon Pulse, and Heal Pulse (heals 75% instead of 50%).

So no, Ice Beam is not affected, but considering how many dragon-types are 4x weak to Ice there are, its usually considered the superior option of M.Launcher Dragon Pulse:

252 SpAtk Modest MegaBlastoise MegaLauncher Dragon Pulse vs 252 HP / 252 SpDef Multiscale Dragonite:

    • 125~148 (32.38%~38.34%) (Guaranteed 2HKO)

252 SpAtk Modest MegaBlastoise Ice Beam vs 252 HP / 252 SpDef Multiscale Dragonite:

    • 180~212 (46.63%~54.92%) (Guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock)

The only dragons present that Dragon Pulse is going to outdamage Ice Beam on are Goodra, whose special defense is so massive that you have no business keeping Blastoise in, Hydreigon, who's easily taken care of by Aura Sphere and Fairies, and Kingdra. For this reason, most MegaBlastoise run either Ice Beam for Dragons or Aura Sphere for Ferrothorn. I have yet to see one that actually uses Dragon Pulse.
