  1. There will be some updates to the profile options taking place on Monday. A couple fields will be changed, and this will cause the information you currently have in those fields to be deleted. So after Monday you'll have to re-enter that information if you want it on your profile. The updates are: • Gender The gender field will no longer be a dropdown with male, female and not telling. It will be changed to a text input field where members can enter their own text. Again, this will delete all information currently in that field, so if you want your gender specified in your profile, you'll have to do / redo that after Monday. • Interests The interests field will be changed from an expanding text input to a regular text input to match everything else. Again, this will delete all current data in that field, so if you have something in it you want to save, you have till Monday. • Username on Mugen Sites A new section will be added, titled Username on Mugen Sites. This will include many popular Mugen sites around the community, so members here can know who you are when they find you on other forums. • Network Names None of your existing names will be deleted in this section. But the sections name will be changed to Other Network Usernames, and a few new fields will be added, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tik Tok. • Profile Fields None of your existing information will be deleted in this section. But the section's name will be changed to Main Profile Tabs.
  2. Yea you're so right about Gui too. That was crazy tho, right when I was in the middle of organizing you got a hold of me and were like "sooo the forums all nesty and messy, did you think about cleaning it up a little?" So what do you think of the new layout? Any recommendations, or would you say its up to code?
  3. Interesting. I uploaded the image to your profile pic myself and worked fine, but I removed it because I want to see if we can get this working for you. If not, I'll just upload it for you. 2 last things to try. First is re-download the image from your imgur account, and try uploading that version of it. Second, if that doesn't work try cropping the image by about 3 pixels so it's not 256x256 and instead is 253x253 or less, then try it.
  4. What's the images type and size? Have you tried other image files?
  5. Yep it's under way. Changes I've wanted to make for a while, finally just doing it. Lots of stuff getting developed in the background too that I can't wait to share. Great to have you on G-Mod staff finally!
  6. PALETTICIAN The Palettician role is for creators of Mugen Palettes. Include some links to whatever content might help you qualify. Please be patient with staff while we consider your request.
  12. Ok try it now. The sitemap was rebuilding in the background after all the changes, but it's finished now.
  13. I overhauled the forums layout. There were too many nested sub-sub-sub forums, rarely used forums, and other unnecessary containers. So I'm in the process of untangling everything, and sorting it out to be more easily accessible. Almost all available forums are now visible from the front page, and the logic of the layout is much cleaner. It's still a work in progress that will span the next couple of days, but the major work is done. Take some time to explore and see for yourself. Here's a list of merges and deletions: • There are no longer container forums at the top of each section. The top forum of each section now has content. • The News forum was deleted. Offsite releases now go in the sub-forum Offsite in the Releases section. • The Fawn was moved to Special Events, and the archived news to The Docks sub-forum in The Warehouse. • The Characters Warehouse, Stages Warehouse, and Screenpacks Warehouse from Collections were combined with the Resources Warehouse to make The Warehouse. • The Pokemon sub-forum was merged with its container forum Nintendo, due to lack of use. • Mugen Discussion was renamed to Mugen Lounge which now contains the sub-forum called Video Sharing. • The Video forum in Member Galleries was merged with Mugen Cinema to create the Video Sharing sub-forum in the Mugen Lounge. • SNK Edits & Capcom Edits sub-forums were merged with their container forum Edits in what's now The Warehouse. • Resource Requests and Completed Requests were merged with Content Requests. • The Lifebars and Hitsparks sub-forums and their container forum Screenpacks were all merged into the main Releases forum where chars and stages are. • The Patches and Palettes sub-forums were merged into their container forum Edits which was renamed to Edits & Add-ons in the Releases section. • Site Overview was merged into its container forum Introductions. • The Screenpacks collections was renamed to Motifs. • The Tutorial Library's main questions sub-forum was moved into P2P Help and renamed Mugen Coding. • The Tutorial Library's sub-forums, Tutorials and Code Snippets remain in the Creation Lab under the original name Tutorial Library. • A sub-forum named Site Related was created in P2P Help for questions regarding the workings of the forum itself. • Ikemen Dojo was overhauled. The Forge was renamed to Releases, and the Ikemen Wips sub-forum was renamed to the Wip Forge. • The Dojo's League sub-forum was hidden until and if it becomes useful. • The Hangouts, Member Galleries and Travel Station were essentially merged to create the Communities forum. • The Writing & Fanfic sub-forum was renamed to Roleplay & Fanfic due to the popularity of role playing. • The Fawn may wake up from hibernation soon, but in a different form. We'll see how it goes. • Character of the Month was renamed to X of the Y. If someone has a better idea please let me know. • A Role Requesting sub-forum was created in Staff HQ. It will be updated soon. • A new view is available for the front page. Click the blue buttons next to Start a Topic. The images are not final, and suggestions are welcome. That's most of what I could get done today. Expect more changes over the next couple days as the reorganization / pre-spring cleaning process continues. Any suggestions anyone has to help make the layout cleaner and more focused are more than welcome. Hope you guys like it so far.
  14. It should be working now. My apologies for the inconvenience. Please let us know here if registration is still giving you trouble. Thanks for pointing this out.
  15. Sorry for the inconvenience, I'll look into it. What was the display name you used when trying to create the account?
  16. Here's the new WIP I'm not starting. It does everything at once every time you push any button. This message should show up on discord....
  17. Uh te gusta gran avatar?
  18. HAPPY KRAMPUS! This years bound to fail holiday surprise from me is a pretty major visual update to the forum discussions theme. The original, pre-change is now selectable in the bottom themes menu. Oddly, despite looking bigger because of the avatars, the new theme is a little more compact spatially. It's going to stay set as the site's default theme until January 1st. At that point, if too many people are reviled by it we'll have a public vote as to whether to keep it the default or just make it selectable.
  19. Made some adjustments to the forums layout. • [ IKEMEN MOUNTAINS ] became [ IKEMUGEN MOUNTAINS ] • [ SPECIAL EVENTS ] moved from [ HEADQUARTERS ] to the [ IKEMUGEN MOUNTAINS ] • [ SPECIAL EVENTS ] moved from [ HEADQUARTERS ] to the [ IKEMUGEN MOUNTAINS ] • [ GALLERIES ] became [ MEMBER GALLERIES ] • [ STAFF HQ ] became [ STAFF HEADQUARTERS ] • [ TRAVEL STATION ] moved to the staff area • [ FANFICTION ] became [ WRITING & FANFIC ] • [ GAMING ] became [ GENERAL GAMING ] • [ GENERAL ] inside what is now general gaming, became [ MISCELLANEOUS ] A few of these have been irking me for a while now. Pretty sure I got all of em, and a few new ones in one swoop. There may be minor changes here and there as it settles in.
  20. Somebody tagged me one of these AMA threads once and it was kinda fun, so I figured I'd start one off. Pick another member, tag them and ask them any 3 questions you want. When they're done answering, they do the same. No other rules about repeats, passes or interruptions, it's just here to have fun with @The Magic Toaster 1) What are your 2 favorite things to do for fun? 2) Top 3 TV shows? 3) All time favorite 3 Mugen characters?
  21. Darkflare If we ditch them all but the numbers, I think we'd be rewarding quantity over quality. Which is something plasmoid is also worried about with the current criteria. So I can see ditching all the ones that are currently there, like other people are saying, and yourself in part at least. They do call for a specific type of character, which is shitty. Too rigid. What would be your thoughts on replacing them instead with something a little looser and more refined? MkTendou A valid point, I hear that and it's certainly not something I'm interested in doing, pigeonholing creators into creating a certain type of character if they want a trophy. Fuck that. Yea so the requirements (at least for character creation) have to be pulled way back to necessities only. Anything beyond that, the kinds of specifications that would produce a specific type of character, maybe should each have their own trophy (like a capcom style char creation trophy etc). But that's way down the road, so not to get side tracked. Yes, got it. PlasmoidThunder Agreed fully, and already covered why. When I first put the idea out there a couple years ago, I just had numbers for the criteria. People rightly brought up the point that that's again pushing quantity over quality, so I / we took a first shot at drawing up some criteria. But yea looking back like you guys are pointing out they are stiflingly narrow. So then in pulling them back to bare minimum so they interfere with the creative process as little as possible, what would be your recommendations for requirements? Heard. HelloMyNameIsAAA I like your idea of having a "complete character" criteria which applies to all characters submitted (required sprites etc). I'd like to expand it a little further too. As for the number of characters required, I'll lower it a little bit, but I want to keep the platinum trophies really difficult to get, so they're rare. The bronze should be relatively easy, so younger people and beginner creators can at least get themselves a trophy. But if the numbers are lower, I think there should be some kind of extra thing to get a platinum. idk what exactly... Everyone I fully agree we should avoid boxing people in creatively. Like at all. It's Mugen. The question then becomes what precisely are the distinguishing characteristics that make for a "good" character in any style? On what basis exactly can this judgement be made? @HelloMyNameIsAAA I definitely like your idea of having a "complete character" criteria which draws on @MkTendou and @PlasmoidThunder suggestion of just doing required sprites etc. So using that as a starting point, and then adding requirements similar to required sprites and states, while including AAA's other idea of adding a single unique requirement to each trophy, (and lowering the numbers a little) this is what I got so far: Complete Character • All required sprites and states • Palette functions properly • Sounds are balanced and present where appropriate • Damage dealt and received is appropriate to the character • No bugs, debug floods or sprite swaps Bronze ~ Create 3 complete characters. Silver ~ Create 5 complete characters. 1 must have an A in either presentation or functionality in the Monthly Judgement. Gold ~ Create 8 complete characters. Author must have shown great knowledge of MUGEN coding and character balance. Platinum ~ Create 13 complete characters. 1 of which must act as their Masterwork, which they feel represents the current full extent of their person skill set.
  22. I added some really basic icons to all the sub-forums. Kept it simple with 5 basic types, same size and design as the front page icons. Aside from just making the site look a little better, they should give the user a basic idea of what each forum in a section is about. Makes the sections layouts a little more intelligible.

  25. Before we activate the trophies for Character Creation, Stage Creation etc, I think an open discussion about the final requirements for each would give us the fairest version possible. There was actually a small discussion about it a couple years ago where some points worth considering were made. Part 1 Part 2 Here are where the requirements stand right now, just as a starting point. We can adjust from here as people offer input. _____/ Character Creator For a character to be counted as complete, it must have all necessary sprites and states and no major bugs. Coding, sprites and animations quality must pass community evaluation. Bronze = create 2 complete characters Silver = create 5 complete characters incorporating at least 3 strikers, and 3 animated hyper finish bgs Gold = create 10 complete characters at least 4 with 5+ hypers and 5+ specials, and 4 with 3+ intros and win poses Platinum = create 15 complete characters at least 1 source accurate (or very close), and 1 that clearly shows the refinement of your skills in some way _____/ Stage Creator For a stage to be counted as playable, there must be no exposed "background" space, and no major defects with the edge movement or sliding parallax. The images quality and consistency must also pass community evaluation. Bronze = create 10 playable, animated, multi-layer, stages Silver = create 25 playable, animated, multi-layer, stages at least 10 with parallax Gold = create 50 playable, animated, multi-layer, stages at least 20 with super jump and 20 with zoom Platinum = create 100 playable, animated, multi-layer stages, at least 10 with bg controllers, and 1 that clearly shows the refinement of your skills in some way _____/ Motif Master For a screen pack to be counted as complete it must have it's own intro, ending, title, select and vs screen. The screen packs overall quality must also pass community evaluation. Bronze = create 2 complete screen packs Silver = create 4 complete screen packs at least 1 high res Gold = create 6 complete screen packs at least 3 with multiple slot options Platinum = create 8 complete screen packs, at least 2 with custom life bars, and 1 that clearly shows the refinement of your skills in some way
