Because speed gives you a huge advantage. 1 more speed than your opponent is all it takes. Most of the time, having the first hit means everything, especially if you've got the power to back it up.

I find it funny how Aurorus gives barely any EXP when defeated. Also, Game Freak are working on a patch to fix the dreaded Lumiose City bug. I have yet to encounter the bug, thankfully.

One thing I love about the game is the ability to have the Gym battle theme play during Battle Maison battles.

Chesnaught - 64 Blastoise - 64 Butterfree - 61 Linoone - 59 Chatot (for flying, not battling)...can't even remember its level (yeah, I'm going by memory - will update later if levels are wrong). I only really use the first three. Linoone serves as backup, but its main usage comes from Cut, Rock Smash and Strength. Butterfree murdered the Psychic gym without a hitch (cheers, Quiver Dance, you broken ol' move). We should probably exchange friend codes 'n' shizz.
