Popular Post Laharl Posted April 23, 2012 Popular Post Posted April 23, 2012 Welcome to the collection section of Mugen Free For All! Before contributing to this section, we would like you to read these rules and guidelines first. 1. General Rules The collections section is for a large amount of things from one series etc. This is NOT the area to post your releases that goes in the releases section. 1.1 Getting Started Spoiler Anyone can start a collection. However, there are a few ground rules before you can get started... 1. A collection must have a minimum of three creations before it can be made. 2. You can't just create your own version of a collection that already exists. If you plan to remake a collection, you must consult the original owner first to obtain their approval. In the event that they are inactive or banned, contact a moderator instead. 3. Do not separate a section for an already existing collection just for the sake of making more collections. 4. A collection shouldn't be made for an author whose creations are easily available on their own website/hosting. Collections are intended for MUGEN content only, so things such as videos and music (character themes), do not belong in them. 1.2 Maintaining Your Collections Spoiler As the owner of a collection, you are expected to put some effort into keeping your threads up to date. Though there's leniency to this, of course, as we totally understand that collections are basically passion projects that one works on in their spare time. You are allowed to impose a level of quality control upon your threads by excluding or removing creations that don't meet your preferred standards, if that's something you would like to do. For example, you could choose to exclude palette swaps and sprite swaps or cheapies. 1.3 Important Reminders Spoiler 1. Creations should be represented by some kind of visual. Characters can be represented with one of their sprites/animations, while stages and screenpacks can be represented with an in-game screenshot or render. Do not use random fanart/wallpapers because they won't really represent how the creation appears in-game. 2. For collections that are based on a particular game, do not throw random characters that aren't related to the actual game you made collection of for merely the sake of adding more characters; for example, MGSSJ's Amaterasu, which was completely original sprited and has different gameplay from MvC, wont fit in a MvC collection even though she was a playable character in UMvC3. 3.1 If a creation is easily available on the author's website/hosting, it is recommended to link to said website/hosting when adding that creation to a collection. Don't direct link files on their website's server like this as some web servers are known to forbid this and will direct you to 404 error page. If the creation is offline, then uploading it to a mirror is fine. 3.2 Refrain from linking to ad referral sites (such as adf.ly). MUGEN and all its content are meant to be free, and any attempts to monetize them are prohibited. In addition, redirecting people to a webpage that requires signing up (such as a Facebook group) is considered to be very inconvenient. Please don't do this as well. 2. Formatting Guides 2.1 Game/Series Collections Spoiler Game/Series Collections; collections based on a video game title/series with a lot of character versions Format 1 / Format 2 / Format 3 / Format 4 You can modify these variations and style to your liking, but keep the main essence. 2.2 Creator Collections Spoiler Creator Collections; collections based on a certain author's works Format 1 This also can be applied to video game-based collection, but only in rare case where each of the characters were made by a single author. 2.3 Single Character Edit Collections with a lot of characters Spoiler Format 1 this is the one and only format accepted for this kind of collection. this means you must test each char and provide a short description for each with spoilers in tact and all. if you do not follow this format the collection can and will be deleted. Follow all of these rules and everything will be fine. If you were sent to this thread it means you did not follow the rules and I or someone else will send you here to fix your collection. The MFFA staff reserve the right to reassign collection threads to another person for various reasons such as inactivity. We also reserve the right to remove or modify any submitted collections at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Requests for collections to be removed, modified, or reassigned will be undertaken only at our discretion. RobotMonkeyHead, ValgarYK, Moltar and 6 others 9
