I'd almost imagine my Mugen was less a cohesive narrative, and more a gigantic mess with some characters just being outright insane or loving battle, while others try to win these fights hoping for a way out. It sounds kind of dark the more I think about it, but hey.

I hate it when a character has music attached to their coding, so it overrides the stage music. I've found a number of characters over the years that basically force a specific music track over any other sounds, meaning whatever I wanted for that stage or that character is now a moot point.

Sometimes it's hard not to be disappointed over the fact that the only mistake you made is that you weren't aware of its existence when it was around, though.

I do have to agree with that. Of course I'm basing my agreement on the fact that I've seen things like Celestial Orochi who has absolutely no reason not to be released beyond personal decision, and the stuff by MugenFan which is usually punching bags of other authors he made out of spite and posts online just to taunt others. As for rare's, well, I can say that while I do find it kind of annoying when I can't find a character I am desperately searching for. Sort of like a forbidden fruit angle: I want what I can't have. In this case, however, it's not that it's bad for me, it's just that I can't find any.

Perhaps you could give people an incentive by trading something or offering something in return. I've never personally asked for commissions before, but I've been lurking on MUGEN forums for a long time and rarely do people just 'make' them without some kind of compensation.

I downloaded Alice Carroll by NHK and found out an AI patch was made and posted to MFFA in this thread: Unfortunately, the link given for the patch by Tokume (posted by Femrril) is apparently now invalid, and I can't seem to locate it through any other searches. If anyone else has it, I would greatly appreciate it.
