The cns is inside his folder, you just have to rename it, then edit his def file to reflect it as well. You won't miss the misnamed cns file; it's the one named in cryptid gibberish (always being a prob if your pc can't read jap unicode) 'Bout the stcommon=common1.cns, just delete that whole line from his def, it won't be causing a problem.

I have no specific tips on that, but you can try organizing it from the most popular games (SNK/Capcom stuffs) for the first rows, then going up to doujin fighters one. But it's all up to you.
