Well, well. It's been almost two years since I published the last version of RW. A rather unfair, unbalanced, tedious, and exhausting fighting game, probably riddled with bugs and constant crashes due to some file that decided to delete itself for some reason. BUT, today, ladies and gentlemen, if there was ever a moment in your lives when the name Ronald World completely slipped your minds, you will now remember the existence of this strange game.

Hell has revealed itself... the sun has settled upon the bosom of the Earth one last time, since the moment when the black calamity covered all traces of the light and life that so enriched the vitality of the Earth and its inhabitants. The sky turned crimson, the clouds wept poison, the earth cracked open in craters that vomited death and plague upon any sign of life. From the cocoons spawned by the dead sky escaped abominable and monstrous beasts, immune to all the power that humankind possessed. For three hours, destruction, horror, and bloodshed were the norm in every city on the planet. Humanity, on the brink of extinction, had no choice but to surrender to this new and unknown force that so vastly outmatched it. Who were they? Their technology far surpassed our own. Their indolence and cruelty were of an immensity that would make even the most perverse dictators in human history pale and tremble. The evil of these invaders was governed not by any moral code, but by the orders of their infamous Lord and Leader: The Emperor Uber Ronald I.

Welcome to the first Ronald World tournament. That wretched clown, who rules his bloodthirsty empire with a blood-stained fist, has decided to organize a competition, pitting the best warriors from all the worlds and dimensions conquered by his hand against each other. The setting? Planet Earth itself. Ronald has promised you, brave rebel, your freedom and your world if you win his tournament.

(Text copied from the game's intro)

Okay. First of all... what is Ronald World: Hell Revealed? Most of you are probably wondering what the heck this is. And no... this is NOT a compilation of Ronald McDonald edits. It's something completely different, but it still maintains the important identity of our favorite clown.

Ronald World: Hell Revealed is a 2D fighting game developed using the MUGEN/IKEMEN engine. Its arcade/story mode features a strict progression system, divided into four chapters with different themes, atmospheres, difficulties, and music. The goal is to provide a thrilling and challenging experience, with a whopping 49 battles available in the arcade mode. After completing each chapter, there’s a boss battle that serves as a prerequisite for moving on to the next chapter. The game features a total of 76 playable characters and 55 battle arenas. Some of these arenas have unique modifications, such as changes to the color palette, sprites, and sounds, giving them a distinct identity.

Chapter 1 – Blood Swamp
Theme/Setting: Jungles, forests, hills, swamps, and gardens.
Music: Orchestral music with a gentle, ambient atmosphere.
Geography: The Sahara Desert, transformed into a jungle.
Difficulty: Easy

Chapter 2 – Pacts of Ash
Theme/Setting: Ruined cities and factories, destroyed districts and suburbs.
Music: Black/War/Doom Metal

Chapter 3 – In Your Doom
Theme/Setting: Gothic castle, dungeons, chambers, halls, chapels, extreme oppression, claustrophobia.
Music: Gothic horror, suspenseful, dark atmospheric music.
Geography: Castle Oblivion, located on a mysterious continent that emerged in the Arctic.
Difficulty: Hard

Chapter 4 – An Attack on McJunior L-169
Theme/Setting: Space station, laboratories, reactors, corridors.
Music: Cosmic/horror-themed music with a futuristic vibe.

All game modes: No
New sounds: Yes
New sprites: Yes
New music: Yes!

Bugs:
1) Some opponents may knock you off the stage after landing a combo on you. But this can be fixed by pressing F4.
2) There might be errors related to the stage or character graphics. But these aren’t serious issues.
3) In rare cases, the game might crash for no obvious reason when certain characters fight each other.
4) In older versions of the game, it seems that the game files, especially those related to characters, got deleted or couldn’t be found by the game’s engine. I hope this won’t happen in the new version.
5) Some characters can cause the opponent’s sprite to appear multiple times on the screen. This happens with characters like “Hikari” and “Astaroth”. But it’s a minor issue.

What's new? Lots of things!

Spoiler

-First, I migrated the game from the MUGEN engine to the IKEMEN 0.99 engine. MUGEN was too limiting for the ambitions I had planned for the game, so I had no choice but to shift my focus to the future—my only chance and option if I wanted the game to avoid getting stuck in the usual repetitive formula. I haven't explored the full potential of IKEMEN because I'm quite young and don't know much about programming. But hey, things will gradually improve over time. I assure you of that.

-I've added FMV cinematics, which are: the logo, the game intro, the character intro, and endings A and B. The Game Over cinematic is still the same, but it's there.

-Better balance in difficulty, progression, and characters.

-The character roster has been reduced from 90 to 76, in an effort to prioritize quality over quantity.

-Three new character edits exclusive to the game.

-The game's HUD has been improved, making it a bit prettier and more pleasant compared to the ugly and poorly chosen combination it had in previous versions.

-Two of the four unique stages exclusive to the vs and training modes of version 1.0 have been removed because I wasn't entirely convinced by them. (Admit it, they were rubbish).

-Much of the soundtrack has been changed to, once again, make it more in keeping with the atmosphere of each chapter of the story/classic mode.

-The game's dark atmosphere has been improved to make it much more oppressive.

-The fights are now much faster and more frantic, to compensate for the excessive number of matches in story mode. Now: characters have less health and deal more damage, and the round time limit has been reduced to 25 seconds. You can change the settings in the configuration, but honestly, I don't recommend it. It would ruin the gameplay if you left the engine's default settings.

-Chapter 3 only: A gradual progression style has been programmed according to the game's story, where the player will start in the dungeons of Oblivion Castle , going up floor by floor with each encounter until reaching the top before progressing to Chapter 4.

-A great many details have been polished in the scenarios and characters, such as animations, sprites and sounds in accordance with the identity of their role.

-And speaking of settings... now they're more vibrant than ever, with lots of extra decorations added to make them more in keeping with the story!

-The ugly realistic "art" style from previous versions has been replaced by a 2D style leaning more towards 90s anime. (And I admit—with all the guilt and shame I can bear—that I used AI to generate those images. But it’s only temporary. The time will come when I learn to draw and get whatever is needed to digitize my 100% real, human art.)

-And much more!

Thank you for your attention. Please... enjoy, and I hope you don't encounter any bugs. Because if you do, I'm going to castrate myself. And please, don't download the old versions! They're absolute shit!

DOWNLOAD

P.S. I recommend your PC has a generous amount of free RAM. The engine uses a lot of RAM when loading cinematics. Finally, if the game gets enough support, I'll go ahead and translate it into english :v
