Question

So I've been looking around online for a while and have found people with similar problems in the past, but not the exact same as this one. I wanted to add some music to the Card Sagas Wars fangame and saw that it was using MP3 files and so I tried to add music in the same format and the results ranged from playing a really loud scratching sound, to not playing any sound at all. If it makes any difference, the songs were downloaded from a youtube-mp3 converter online, which has worked on most mugen games I've added music to in the past. Any help would be appreciated!

Is this the prototype version or the online version? The former uses WinMUGEN and is likely very specific in what types of .mp3 it'll read, while the latter almost entirely avoids using .mp3 altogether.

It's the prototype version. Not very familiar with WinMUGEN in general so I didn't know it was like that with its .mp3 files. I checked to make sure none of the files were too large, and they weren't, since the largest file is actually one that comes with the game anyway.

It'll likely be down to how they're encoded. If you're able to, open them in Audacity and re-export them as .mp3, making sure to remove any metadata tags just in case.
