Every culture needs a hero.

 

if they had her backstory to being a women in any islamic ruled country then it would be a big issue to the world of islam.

 

however shes in jersey so that means shes Americanized, which voids all of that stuff.

All around the world their are oppressed people, especially women. To me this great way to inspire those women and to give them something to dream of. It also doesnt hurt that the co-creator is a Muslim-American woman.

It's cool. It's a the authors way of giving other oppressed women hope. It happens all the time. Like someone who was a geek in school who grows up, becomes a director and makes a movie based on nerds who rise above the jocks. Now my view on that aspect of the religion...that's a whole other thread.
