Hey guys! I was wondering about what kind of program should I use for spriting? I just got my hands on Fireworks MX is that good for spriting or not? Paint Shop Pro is out of the question for me it doesn't have layer editing like Fireworks does for sprites.

I`am not a spriter or something like that but when i want a new fightingpose for something like that for a char or edit a pieze for a stage

i use "paint" later convert it o Photoshop to a PNG with transparency.

Thanks for your help Excahm! I've been using Fireworks MX to draw the sprites (of course!) and then I prevent the colorloss in Paint Shop Pro (Ryon's Tutorial on colorloss) I was just asking if anyone knew if it was alright to use Fireworks MX on sprites but I guess it is.

I, personality, use GIMP because it has the simplicity of paint and the tools of photoshop. Plus, it supports transparency.

Paint.net is pretty good.

But I've sprited for years just using MSPaint.

Though you would get a lot more out of it using some photoshop like programs like Paint.net or Gimp.
