This is on Ikemen GO right? that usually happens when a stage localcoord value has been changed to make it a higher resolution, for some reason it also affect the select screen preview, what I do about these is to resize the actual preview sprite, the higher the localcoord number is the bigger the sprite needs to be in order for it to be shrunk down to a normal size, not sure if there's a more practical way of doing it.

IKEMEN has a "portraitscale=1" option that you can put in the [info] section to make character portraits stay fullsize regardless of the character's localcoord. Perhaps something similar works for stages? Although I wouldn't know if this would go in [info] or [stageinfo]

I don't use stage portraits so I haven't tried this but I thought I'd offer the tip in case it helps.

  2. Warning: This Screenpack only works with IKEMEN Go version 0.99 RC2 (possibly higher) set up with a 16:9 resolution! This is not designed to work on MUGEN.

Version 1.1.1 does not work correctly in IKEMEN Go 0.99 RC1 or older! If for some reason you still need to use an older version, check out the version history on AK1 instead.

NEW UPDATE: August 7th 2023, check out the update section.

I'm back with another screenpack for IKEMEN Go! This is my favorite to date. I felt inspired by the aesthetic of 90s Capcom fighting games, and wanted to encapsulate that in a screenpack for my personal IKEMEN compilation. I also wanted to make something new using the techniques I learned from editing Devon's CVS Black screenpack (into Infinite Legacy for IKEMEN). Thus, Infinite Legacy X was born!

    Features:

    • Uses standard MUGEN portraits for ease of use.
    • A 504 slot mode for simple use, and a 700 slot mode for more character slots and a slightly better look (imo) at the cost of simplicity. (Just as simple in version 1.1!)
    • Supports IKEMEN features such as combo and tag toast messages, 3v3 and 4v4 battles, ratio battles, and tag battles.
    • Comes with the option to use PotS's active tag system (had to include it as the tag toast message is part of the tag.zss).
    • Or, if choosing to use the default IKEMEN tag, includes a fix that improves compatibility some by changing the tag states used.

    Spoiler

New slots version available as an update.

    Too Many Slots Edition

    MFu0CMA.jpg

    6624 slots, if you're curious.

You can download the patch here, if you really want it. But keep in mind, it runs like rotten potatoes. IKEMEN ain't built for large select screens like this.
    Happy April Fools' Day!

    UPDATE 1.1.1:
IKEMEN Go 0.99's second release candidate just released. It required some updates to certain files, especially regarding POTS active tag system.
This is simply a compatibility update. No reason to update unless you're using IKEMEN Go 0.99 RC2 or newer.

    UPDATE 1.1:

IKEMEN Go 0.99's first release candidate just released. Time for me to update my screenpacks.

    • Updated for use in IKEMEN 0.99.
    • Adds 3 new slot options (25, 185, 916).
    • Uses IKEMEN's new cell.skip feature to no longer require BLANK slots in the select.def.
    • Added new announcer and fight animation, you can choose which one to use during install.
    • Made this snazzy trailer:

Which, if you clicked it, you'd know that link is dead. 🙂

I did manage to find that Athena on my own though.
Even sent it to Kamekaze so he could update the link, but he never did.
I should reupload her to AK1... Done.

Still looking for J. List's to complete the collection.

  4. Warning: This Screenpack only works with IKEMEN Go version 0.99 set up with a 16:9 resolution! This is not designed to work on MUGEN.

I said I'd do it 4 months ago and I finally got around to it. This is a remaster of my MUGEN Generations screenpack, but for IKEMEN. While I kept the core simplistic design of the original, I wanted to correct what I considered to be some egregious errors as well as create all new health bars that look a lot more polished than the original, and take advantage of a lot of IKEMEN Go's additional features. Most especially, I wanted to let the user install this cleanly rather than providing it with a full MUGEN install like I did before.

    Features:
-A category-based screenpack, something I haven't seen for IKEMEN yet.
-Literally infinite character slots, believe it or not.
-Unlike MUGEN category-based select screens, it doesn't rely on an "invisible grid" that makes switching categories confusing.

-Really cool custom made lifebars based on KOF 2002

-Support for IKEMEN's additional features and modes.

    Known jank:

This screenpack uses IKEMEN's shared slot feature to allow for infinite character slots. This does create a few eccentricities not found in the MUGEN version however:

-When toggling through characters in a category, it'll change that slot for both players. It's best for both players not to browse the same category at the same time.
-When returning to the character select screen, rather than the cursor remembering what character you last chose, it'll instead be on the first character of the category you chose.
-There is no sound effect when switching between characters in the same category.

There is nothing I can do to fix these issues, as that's just how the engine works with this feature at this time.

WARNING: The select.def used is located under data/ikegen/select.def. Do not use data/select.def, it won't work. Read the instructions in data/ikegen/select.def for how to add characters in the unique way this screenpack requires.

Update 1.0.2 - Updated for 0.99. That's the only change. If you're using 0.98.2, stick to version 1.0.1 (Found on AK1).

Update 1.0.1 - Fixed a pretty big bug, regarding the options menu. In version 1.0, scrolling down a long options list like in Game Options would cause the VS logo to appear in the top right of the menu. I realized I missed a component for that menu and have adjusted accordingly. Now small arrows appear when the list is bigger than what's on screen. If you're updating from version 1.0, you only need to replace system.def.

  5. NOT MADE FOR MUGEN
This may work in MUGEN 1.1, I haven't tested it, but it's designed for IKEMEN's full suite of features.

This was designed for v0.99 of IKEMEN Go specifically. Depending on changes to the engine, various features may not work as intended in other versions of IKEMEN. Your mileage may vary.

This is an edit/port of the Capcom vs SNK HD: Black Edition screenpack by President Devon.

It has been edited to port to IKEMEN and support IKEMEN's additional features. It also has a changed logo and removed references to Capcom vs SNK, as I wanted a more generic name that can be used to make anything and not be boxed into Capcom vs SNK projects. The original name and logo has been restored, with an alternate sff included if you want to use the Infinite Legacy name and logo instead.

The lifebars are the Z-S Lifebar by ZIRU-STYLE. They were modified to incorporate IKEMEN's featureset in xcheatdeath's SVCSomething screenpack. They have been further modified by me to fit a widescreen game, add support for the Ratio system, and some small personal aesthetic and audio touches.

There are 4 select screen slot varieties. 120 slots, 204 slots (default), 492 slots, or 840 slots.

    This is a 1280x720 screenpack.
Please set your resolution to 1280x720 or higher, at a 16:9 resolution for the graphics to be positioned properly.

    Installation
Place the inf folder inside your IKEMEN's data folder.
Edit the save/config.json file, and set "Motif" to "data/cvsbe/system.def" and save.

(If you do not have a save/config.json file, launch IKEMEN once and it should generate one for you.)

If you want the Infinite Legacy logo instead, rename inf.sff to system.sff and put it in the cvsbe folder.

Updated to v1.0.1 - Fixes some mistakes with the messages in the screenpack and some alignment issues. Now includes a 492 slot def for those who want more than the default 120 slots.

Updated to 1.0.2 - 120 slot def in 1.0.1 was broken, that's corrected now. Added "wide" roster options, bumping up the names so to make room for more slots. Now includes 204 and 840 slot wide roster defs.

    1.0.3
    Updated for IKEMEN 0.98.2
If you're still using 0.98.1, please use version 1.0.2. This is available on AK1.
Includes modules for Boss Rush (now external in IKEMEN 0.98.2) and VS 100 Kumite modes
Wide slot system.def files in 1.0.2 had an incorrect placement for P2's starting slot, this has been corrected.
Red health now displays properly in Tag Mode.

    1.0.4

Updated to use Devon's Capcom vs SNK HD Black Edition title and logo by default. Includes an alternate sff file if you want to use Infinite Legacy instead.

    1.0.5

Updated for use in IKEMEN Go 0.99. No new features. If you're still using IKEMEN Go 0.98.2, use v1.0.4 instead (found on AK1).

    1.0.6

For whatever reason, the SFF file was not loading correctly in 1.0.5 or 1.0.4 and someone only reported it 8 months later. I've fixed that, as well as the FIGHT announcer playing early. Should work correctly in 0.99 RC3.

    1.0.7

I somehow forgot to update the slots def options to 0.99? So they were broken if you tried to use them. (Particularly with team menus.) This has been fixed now.

  6. I got purgatory'd either for saying I wish I could edit comments or for being a member of MFFA, not sure which because they haven't responded to my purgatory post in the almost 2 weeks since it happened so I'm pretty sure I'm gonezo.

My confusion regarding the ban and the lack of answers landed me in this rabbit hole of everyone's history with MA and hoo boy what a journey that has been. For a group that supposedly wants people to stop painting them as the bad guy and hates other communities so much, they sure push a lot of people to them with such a hair trigger on the ban hammer.

Hello I'm a long term supporter of mugen archive, and i'm here cause I got banned by that piece of ******* **** named Dizzy.  I was a long term supporter of mugen archive, and defender because I never ever had issues with anyone there or ever seen any issues. I upload chars and stages too.  But one time I saw this guy on the comments being a real bitch, he was telling another member that he shouldn't worry about respecting authors, that he has every right to do what he wants to any character and to not ask any author for permission.  And I said, "well i've been in this community for over 10 years and we always been about respecting one another and respecting the authors, especially if he is nice and respectable about his requests."  and then some guy named Dizzy says something like "fuck all that respect shit, im tired of it."     and then I told him "Look communities are about respecting, thats what a community is. and if you don't like it, you can gtfo of the mugen community"   and then I told the other member he was speaking to, to stay away from Dizzy because he has a long history of being highly controversal and starting lots of drama. So i suggest not letting that little devil speak into your ear."   and then I find out that heartless asshole is the mod lol then I get banned, even tho i add lots of content like stages and characters into the archive.. I honestly I think that Dizzy is a little prissy bitch, He is abusing his power as a moderator. I am now sad because Mugen is all I play, I don't play PS4, i dont play xbox.. I play Mugen.  and this ONE guy decides to cut all that away from my life. Now Its very difficult for me to find characters/stages 😞

Long term supporter and defender of the site and you never knew the guy you didn't like for their "long history" of drama was the one who runs the place? That is a real solid oof. But now you know, and knowing is half the battle! (Inb4 this is misinterpreted as some statement regarding their "war" or whatever else more than simply a GI Joe reference.)

I'm looking into making a somewhat alternative archival platform using Google Forms and Google Sheets, though it would lack certain benefits like coming up in Google search results. But it'd be open to everyone, ad/monetization free, no registration (at least to download), and hopefully drama neutral. I think there'd be a lot less complaining about MUGEN Archive the more we can avoid MUGEN Archive.  Take this with a grain of salt though— I don't want to make any promises about anything until it's ready.

Edit (7/31): My new ghetto warehousing system alternative to MA is complete. I won't link it here, mainly because i don't want to co-opt this thread to shill for my own thing. But if there's a good place to post it somewhere on MFFA, I will.

  7. EDIT 2: Nevermind, here it is!

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TmQa6MxF580lsj4QKqLNrzo8VsYf7FYJ/view?usp=sharing

I was browsing MUGEN again and as it turns out Devon is still hosting it on his page and you can pick it up quite easily.
So I uploaded it to Google Drive for backup purposes and this link shouldn't die like my old one.

Link dead, found it elsewhere, made a backup.
    Enjoy future travelers!

    [dead link]

EDIT: I just noticed the above link died, from back when google killed spoofed team drives.

Unfortunately I do not appear to have another backup of the screenpack on its own. What I do have though was a barely started MUGEN project that was using it. However, the screenpack is edited somewhat, to have around 4x the character slots available. Portraits in my project also don't quite fit the lifebars, but I can't remember if that's because of edits to the screenpack, the characters, or both. You'll have to play around with it and find out. Or maybe I will someday and come back to this, but today is not that day.

ANYWAY, this link shouldn't go down theoretically ever.
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UcfZehqS1WCzXssR7iIGQIiiq_wbdPZY/view?usp=sharing

  8. I found a bug with the last few categories - MUGEN, MISC (and DLC too).  The characters I put into MISC (and DLC) do not appear.

I needed to copy and paste the list of characters in MISC into the MUGEN slot (having 2 lists of the same characters both in MUGEN and MISC), and delete all the BLANKs in the MUGEN slot, before ONLY SOME of the characters actually appeared in the MISC category.  Correspondingly, the positioning for the cursor on RANDOMSELECT also got messed up.

I don't know if I've explained it properly, but please look for any bugs in those last few categories.  Thanks!

This would be a result of an improper number of slots in likely either the MUGEN or Anime categories, caused by forgetting to delete BLANKs, not deleting enough, or deleting too many.
Each category should have 300 slots.

This list randomizer is a very useful tool:

    https://www.random.org/lists/

It randomizes the order of the lists but that's not the important feature here. At the top of the randomized list it says
There were (#) items in your list. Here they are in random order:

Copy a category (bar the title) and paste it in the list randomizer, and if it says anything other than "There were 300 items in your list.", add or remove BLANKs accordingly.

And deleting all of the blanks is never a good idea, unless you have 300 characters in those categories.

  9. When scrolling down the categories, whenever the previous category isn't at the first character, the next category's selection would be messed up, i.e. not starting from the first character.

Is it possible to make it such that, everytime you scroll from Capcom to SNK for example, it always starts at the first character?  Since this type of mugen screenpack doesn't have select portraits, starting at the first character or the category could be very convenient.

As far as I know, that's not possible. The only reason the Categories actually work in the first place is because it's in the background, and the "grid" you see in other select screens is simply invisible. (Or more accurately, each slot was given a horizontal value of 0.)

So say, you're on the 16th Capcom character. You're actually on the 16th slot of that row on an invisible grid. If you move down, you'll be on the 16th SNK character. If there is no 16th SNK character, it skips through the categories until there is a 16th character. (Or Random, as all slots in the Random row are... well, randomselect.)

There's no way to make it go from the 16th Capcom character to the 1st SNK character without going back to the 1st Capcom character. It's just the way MUGEN is designed. If there is a way, I do not know it, and I've never seen it used in any other Category-style screenpacks. I'm sorry.

  10. Wow, thank you for all the info! :D
I'll PM' you prolly later today, i hope, right now i'm moving my chars to your screenpack and keeping organized, since i cant add anything in "auto" lol. it's a pain, but worth, tho.
But most likely the ones for "blazblue/melty blood" i wont be needing them. xD (DLC are for...like...bonus & whatnot?)
Already finished with KOF chars (147?) not counting edits, so far, and it's crazy when i try to go down to the next category, i already solve it. I was sooo lost for like 1 hr fixing the slots.

I should warn new categories comes with a new select.def ^.^'

    Sorry @.@

Hopefully good copy-paste work will do you well.
