cameosis reacted to AxSeeker in i Need a Character Template
A lot of mugen players like Pots Ryu, maybe just use that as a start. It likely has all the stuff mugen players are looking for in general and it may generally be received positively across the board.
Another usggestion i like and what seems to be the all time fan favorite which works with everything IMO is the MvC1 Template. Try a google search or just find yourself a good MvC1 character conversion and go with that in the collections section here or in other places.
I highly recommend MvC1. It has great hitsparks, ideal sounds for landing and jumping that give that rush and if it comes with a built in announcer, well it's generally an exciting experience. Plus the art style just fits better in general mugen sprite styles rather than CvSnk of some KoF mishmash which is too contrary to the fighter's appearance.
A good bet also is to use a character people generally like. Use whatever will be best for what you are trying to do. Sometimes it might be better to make one from scratch or KFM but if you are looking for a specific theme that you all ready like and is close to what you want then maybe going with that will work best for you.
Try and get a basic character so it doesn't become overwhelming to edit and tinker with.
As a coding shortcut, I use a character that has something I will need to code in it all ready and fully functional to save myself the work of having to do it all from scratch or some hard tutorial. I did this when Making Link (Zelda) when I had to make a flying mode with a functioning projectile attack.

cameosis reacted to Basara-kun in Street Fighter: The Definitive Collection
Thanks for the notes, but there're already some stuff made in this collection (and all past collections)
Blue already stands for custom versions, not just for edits of other chars, and all Descolor and Felicity chars are already marked with blue Brown's Cody is based on SFIV already, it has stuff from God Hand, but has the voice and some supers based of SFIV. Also, I played with him and checked it out from first hand that has this gameplay Chars that have extra modes isn't enough indicative to change their descriptions For the rest, I'll check it out and I'll correct them eventually, thanks again
All KAZ chars also are marked with blue since the beginning since they're custom made, so no problem with that
Apart of that, I got some additions to SFV section, especially refered to Chuchoryu:
-Deleted Luke since he never released it
-Added Cammy by him and Varo_Hades
-Found Akira, which it was offline previously

cameosis reacted to O Ilusionista in SPEC OPS MB-01 RELEASED!
The wait is over. And I can’t believe I will say this finally: After 12 years, MB-01 is done!
[INFO]
This character makes part of the project Street Fighter Special Operations, which has begun at 2002 in MugenBR (RIP) forum. Spec Ops is a full game which tells an alternative story about Street Fighter, from an alternative future where cyborgs are a common thing. Prototype Weapon MB-01 is the rival of Perfect Weapon MB-02, which was made initially by me and SodonHID, then redone be my and Ethan Lives.
M.Bison obsessed with controlling the world, Charlie capture to cyber experiments with in order to build an above normal fighter, able to be his right arm in and Shadoloo help you get DNA from several fighters to build a perfect fighter (later would be known as MB-02). However, due to several factors, this prototype does not go as expected, and ran away from laboratory. After an investigation, it was discovered that he had not fled, but was stolen.
MB-01 is a metamorphic character, made by tons of nanorobots, which makes him looks like a liquid metal.
Warning: For those who doesn’t knows about Spec Ops, all the characters on this project does MASSIVE damage.
Side note: There is a error at the debug, which happens only in Mugen 1.0 (works fine in Mugen 1.1) and I don’t have any idea why it happens. If you find why, just let me know.
Really thanks for all people who support us for all those years! If you check the readme, you will see how old this project is :)
