  1. Preservation First: Why This KOFM Collection Matters You might be wondering,"What? Is this guy crazy? Aren't the decrypted versions much better?" This specific collection aims to prioritize the preservation of these files, since the original versions by Zelgadis were lost due to the vast amount of unofficial builds, or are very difficult to find in a quick search. Quick Notes & Gameplay Warnings KOFM DEMO (Original Encrypted) Does not have the updated audio plugins that I took from version ''2.4.0''. The selectable version of Krizalid is missing its ''.act'' files, so the game will crash. However, the BOSS version works perfectly, making the DEMO beatable. Just to be safe, don't select this character! KOFM LV1 SP 1.6.2 (Original Encrypted) Requires a password to unlock IORI-98. Due to M.U.G.E.N limitations, I believe the author couldn't find a way to implement character unlock mechanics like in conventional fighting games. The unlock code is displayed when you beat the game, or you can just look it up on the internet KOFM LV2 5.0 (Original Encrypted) Compatibility: This is an executable installer. It might face issues running on modern systems like Windows 10 and 11. Authenticity: Despite compatibility hurdles, this is the most accurate version available, officially released by Zelgadis. The ''Mega Collection'' Issue: The version available in the Mega Collection is of somewhat questionable origin, and the ''select.def'' file has been edited to make the bosses playable, which is not possible in the original. The characters and stages were taken from a decrypted version of unknown origin; the only thing that could actually be decrypted from the official game was the screenpack (I don't know any methods to decrypt the .dat files that contain the characters). The unlock code is displayed when you beat the game, or you can just look it up on the internet. The "old footage" folder has been updated The test videos and trailers for KOFM Lv2 have been saved. As of this post, they are still available on the "kof memorial team games" YouTube channel, but if the videos get taken down like the KOF Memorial Lv1 beta trailer, at least they won't become lost media. The KOF Memorial Lv1 beta had 3 trailers recorded on the old Zelgadis forum. One of them was posted on YouTube. I downloaded it and added it to the mega collection, but it is currently no longer on YouTube. However, the other 2 are lost because they were uploaded to Rapidshare at the time. As for the records of version 6.0, I didn't think it was important to save them for now. As of the date of this post, version 6.0 is still in development and hasn't been released yet. Honoring the Original Work As mentioned before, this pack aims to prioritize preservation. These listed bugs and quirks are normal given how old this classic fangame is. Zelgadis preferred to release this project encrypted for obvious reasons, and keeping it that way respects the history of the M.U.G.E.N community. Enjoy this trip down memory lane and help keep the scene alive! DOWNLOAD: https://www.mediafire.com/file/tjxqcjj1kn4evjm/KOF+MEMORIAL+LEGACY+COLLECTION.rar/file
  2. Hey everyone, I managed to find an older version of KOF Zillion on a Chinese website called "m.962.net". I believe this might actually be the very first public version ever released. I stumbled upon it via Google Images while searching for "KOF Zillion 2006". Since the website is entirely in Chinese and quite sketchy to navigate, I want to give a huge shoutout to my friend Meldo. Using downloader2, he managed to safely grab the files for me. The original files were missing some executables required to run the game. It seems the creators encrypted it back then to prevent people from stealing the assets. Luckily, I managed to successfully decrypt the build using De-MOLE-ition, so it is now fully playable! I also need your help!!! This build is from 2006, but I know that another version was released that same year. That other version had a completely different lifebar and a much more complete character roster. I am still actively looking for it. You can see screenshots of this and some video footage in my previous post: https://mugenfreeforall.com/topic/53680-does-anyone-own-this-rare-version-of-kof-zillion/ If anyone has that specific build or knows where to find it, please let me know! Link to the decrypted version:https://www.mediafire.com/file/y053mbgb2kaom7a/_extracted.rar/file Update! The version found on the Mugenchina forum via Wayback Machine matches this build. Not many files are downloadable and vital parts are missing. After running De-MOLE-ition on what could be compiled, I only got a few characters. So, here are some updated and new chars specific to this build: https://www.mediafire.com/file/kfn98y24bbi9dah/Update.rar/file
  3. Update: I tried using a program called ''De-MOLE-ition'' on the parts where extraction was still possible, but I didn't get anything. Unfortunately, it only recovered a ''chars'' folder with a few characters and nothing else.
  4. Wow, I didn't think that would be possible. But still, I think it's impossible to compile it with missing parts. I have the impression that some people still have this build. For instance, juu-bei7 uploaded the lifebar of this build to the Mugen Archive, but I can't contact him. Also, after analyzing the readme, I noticed it redirects to a site on the same domain where I found another Mugen considered lost media. I didn't try going much further because cafe.naver (a Korean site) asks for a phone number to view its content. https://<BLACKLISTED URL>/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=121015-kof-zillion-lifebar-sword-dancer
  5. Here, there is a lot of saved stuff from Mugen China. The version I'm looking for is probably MK1, but they only call it a beta there. Anyway, this is the page where I found the downloads with the functional Badongo links. https://web.archive.org/web/20071021041431/http://www.mugenchina.org/phpwind/read.php?tid=1291
  6. Oh right, this version isn't the same, this version is MK2 of KOF Zillion, it predates MK3 which already had the menus and artwork that became famous.
  7. Does anyone have this version of KOF ZILLION ? It looks like it was released between 2006 and 2007. There are only a few clips on YouTube (which I'll list below) and this image, which I found a link on a website that redirects to the old RapidShare, which has been shut down. If you search on YouTube for ''KOF Zillion Before:2008'', you can find several videos of this specific version. However, searching on Google yields no results. By accessing the closed Mugen China forum through the Wayback Machine, you can find a lot of saved content, even download links for this build that lead to a functional Badongo, net page. However, the download does not start. While practically the entire forum is preserved on the Wayback Machine, the build itself is not downloadable. If anyone has it, I would be very grateful.
