Popular Post N_N Posted July 17 Popular Post Posted July 17 With MUGEN's 27th anniversary around the corner, I thought it would be appropriate to upload this. This is a collection of every character and stage from 1999 that I could find, and then some. (A more detailed list is included in the archive under "charlist.txt".) As all of the characters featured in this pack only work on DOS, DOSBox is required in order to run this on modern systems. [Notes] A couple of characters don't work by default, those being "k", "lee", and "mauru". They're commented out of the select file, but I included them anyway for preservation's sake. [Download] https://www.mediafire.com/file/vp3me65fvoyuvqn/mugen-1999.7z/file Gene Worm, LGM2006, WF4123 and 4 others 2 2 1 2 go back up!
snowy997 Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Do these DosMugen stuff work on Ikemen GO, or would need DostoWin? Since Ikemen GO tends to be compatible even for Winmugen characters
SL-Zero Posted July 23 Posted July 23 I changed Tetris Dimension from this pack to work on windows mugen, and safe to say, it seems the only real issue here is that the names are not enclosed in quotes, which wasn't needed at the time of DOS mugen. linmugen and winmugen changed it where you have to have quotes in character names, displaynames, and authornames, and by extension, stages as well.

What's more, is the 24-bit format sprite in Tetris Dimension. No, the sprite version wasn't 2.0.1.0. It was a DOSMugen thing.
SL-Zero Posted July 23 Posted July 23 The fact DOSMugen had 24-bit support, but not WinMUGEN, until 1.0 for Windows...what?!

No joking, 1.1 brought 24-bit image support back for sprite version 2.0.1.0, plus 32-bit image support. I've tried 24-bit DOSMugen image on 1.1, it changes the hue.

More than just Dos2Win as a matter of fact. MUGEN goes over this in "incompt2.txt", but basically you have to: wrap all strings (.def names, command names) in quotes change the "hit ground" animations change sparkno numbers as necessary I think there was an old program that did this named "Conversor 2.0", but I'm not sure if it still works. A lot of the stuff related to strings can be done pretty fast if you know RegEx. That said if there's a certain character you want to see converted, just lemme know and I'll see what I can do. go back up!
