having trouble getting rid background on spritesheet w/ pics now

I have watched many tutorial adn can't seem to make the sprite show up the way I want it to. Can someone tell me how to fix the sprites and remove the background. I really want to make a character. I'm having lots of trouble with it though. Also will enable showing transparency stay in when the character is finalized? Please help and thanks in advance.

Did you watch my tutorials??

 

That being said, you converted the images, however you did not set the alpha color (the alpha color is the one that does not show up during normal gameplay...i.e. the background)

I personally use !draw3 to select it.
