Arcade game suggestions

So my brother and I are thinking of doing a series of videos where we play through some arcade games together while we make commentary as we play. We have a few ideas, but we would like some other suggestions as well. There's a few things to keep in mind.

-It has to be available for MAME and completely playable

-Must be at least two players simultaneously.

-Co-op or versus is fine

-For co-op games, it must be possible to beat through credit spam. Yes, there are arcade games with limited continues out there.

-No puzzle games. We're too dumb for this.

-No lightgun games.

-or Mahjong

-or Adult arcade games, seriously...

-We'll probably be avoiding fighting games since my own fundamentals knowledge will provide too big of an advantage.

-We'll probably avoid shitty games, so don't bother.

I have way more ill run by another time. i played a lot of beat em ups back then as a kid.

As for whats totally on mame well i fell off knowing whats available for it or not. so the best i could do is give you and your bro a huge list you can run through and find gems to rock through.

Yea, no kidding. A ton of those are beat em ups for sure(I think ALL of them are). If we keep motivation, I might pluck a few.

Although, my bro has had a mixed bag regarding beat em ups. We used to play Simpsons and TMNT a lot in earlier years, but when I had him try Final Fight, he got bored of it.

 

You can't go wrong with Metal Slug

Indeed you can't. I've considered it, but Metal Slug is pretty popular as is.

I need to talk with my bro, we did a test video yesterday and I need to ask him to upload it for me since it's in his laptop and I don't have access to it.

We're already thinking of doing a run on Dodonpachi Daio-jou and a few matches in Outfoxies.

- you need to think smart to choose and use weapons

- similar Sky Soldier concept, more cartoon-ish and in the horizontal point of view

- a gun shooting like THOTD, in space aliens way

- I had very fun times playing this arcade with my friends before

 

Flying Power Disc

- it is quite addictive to me

- something more than a usual air-hockey video game

- 2.5D-scrolling beat'em up

- very good theme/plot

- very rich weapon choices

- up to four (4) players like TMNT

 

Hidden Catch

- search-and-circle type video game

- game play can be intense due to time limit

While I'm aware that we did start with frigging Killer Instinct, it's unlikely we'll do another fighter due to the fact that I play them a lot more than my brother. KI only worked because it's complicated to begin with. Trust me, it'll be too one sided on a more "responsive" fighter.

I hear ya. well just just pick through for the beat em up scrollers and space shooters in the list. Those are usually pretty decent to co op with though where your bro isnt too left behind and can have some fun i guess.

Episode 2: Dodonpachi Dai-ou-jou

Did NeoGeoKitsune tell you about DoDonPachi or you knew about that series already? Anyway here's my suggestions:

 

 

- Captain Commando (I mained Baby Head in the game. I found him to easiest to play as)

- Raiden Fighters 2 or Jet

- Viper Phase 1

- Darius Gaiden (Normal or Extra Version)

- G-Darius

- Varth: Operation Thunderstorm. (This game has 29 Stages. That was my favorite shmup before playing the Raiden series. Not every stage has a Boss but the Bosses are really mean in shooting)
