Character portrait.

So I have a couple chars in my EvE roster and their portrait is black, (Like stickmen) And it looks just blank like an open slot because their portrait matches the BG. How can I change that to make the portrait lighter? It REALLY bugs me...Doesn't help my OCD also. xD
