Penelope moved onto herself next, moving over to Emilia's left side.

Penelope: And I'm Penelope! I've been having lots of fun since I've been here, but I can tell that this is gonna be sooo awesome!

She started to hop around.

Penelope: Aaaaah, I can't wait to get started!

Meanwhile, the "Black Knight" stepped aside, making its way towards the exit without a word on the matter.

???: Not quite. Our party happened to rescue a few of your associates from an incident within the slums involving you-know-who. We just so happened to be investigating the area and managed to get them out just in time. That being said...

???: ...I believe that we all happen to have the same goal in the end, so it would be a pleasure to work with you all on this matter. I shall properly introduce myself once we arrive at the meeting area as I do have plenty of information to relay. 

Penelope proceeded to interject.

Penelope: So do I! This'll be awesome!

Meanwhile, the robot that stood to the right of the commander remained silent, like a guardian spirit that hovered behind its master, unwilling to speak to those she seemed unfamiliar with.

Magnum let out a small laugh and went towards an empty seat. Seraph also went into one close to him, while Elizabeth sat three seats away from Magnum.

 

Magnum: Good morning, everyone. Are you all well rested?

Idealis chuckled at Elizabeth's response.

Idealis: Sorry about that, Lizzy! I didn't wanna wake you up since you looked like you were enjoying yourself!

Idealis: But, anyway, good morning, you three! I managed to get a nice rest; what about you?

She was no good at the optimism thing, but it was at least worth a try. After all, there was food, and she was always happy when there was food.

The commander removed her hand from Penelope's mouth and began to make her way to the maid, followed quietly by the robotic knight. 

Penelope: Thanks, big guy! 

Penelope proceeded to follow behind the commander, eager to see what was within.

Penelope: Oh...riiiiiight...heheheh...

The commander returned her attention to Shrike.

???: Anyway, it is safe to assume that you, too, have done reconnaissance with the slums, correct? If so, I believe that there are others within which also hold even more valuable info, so I believe that if we can perhaps share our info with one another, we may be able to form a suitable plan for eliminating the threat within. What do you say, Miss?

I've waited a long time for this! I'm trying her out right now.

EDIT: Finally managed to play her after far too much difficulty in getting things to work. She plays as close to the source as you can get in MUGEN, and I'm really happy to see how much attention was paid to detail(the way she walks even mimics the way she walks in the source game) and how some things were fixed(such as an infinite involving the strong Water Splash attack). It also looks like some additional stuff was put in, such as a grab and a taunt, and it helps make the experience better than the source game(which is good because throws would've helped a lot in that game as one of my main characters, Jenny, would often be put in really bad spots since a lot of her attacks would leave her wide open if they were blocked), but it also makes Sera into a very dangerous character since she could already be very aggressive in combat. All in all, a very well-made character that I'm very excited to have in my roster!

He proceeded to bow gently, but kept his place at the counter. Idealis soon took notice of them.

Idealis: There you guys are! I thought you were all still asleep, but I guess the smell of food is good enough to wake up anyone, isn't it?

MAGICAL KINGDOM OF VERVE: Elysia Inn

Downstairs, the usual girl that sat at the front counter was instead replaced by an older male dressed in very elegant clothing that seemed to have been maintained very well as not even a piece of stray lint could be seen upon it, and the fabric that it seemed to be made of was smoothed so many times that not a single strand stuck out from it. His face showed years of chiseling from countless hours of work in many high-ranking positions under many lords, and his eyes told the story of a man who had seen events, some of which he had wished he had never seen. His hair had been slicked back and stood out save for two strands of lazy hair which seemed to bend just the right way for them to match his hair. It was as if this man had toiled for hours on his look. 

???: Good morning. I apologize for the interruption last night; this kingdom is victim to ruffians who wander the streets during celebrations that oft occur here. Excessive amounts of mana seem to influence their rampant appearance. However, I do pray you were all able to sleep well despite their inconsiderate behavior. I have already prepared breakfast; please do be certain that you consume a sufficient amount of food as Jack Frost intends on striking our kingdom with a bitter cold unlike any other.

He bowed, and gestured towards a long table covered with trays and plates with lids upon them that allowed one to view the foodstuffs upon them, along with various canisters and jars filled with liquids. It was clear that they were all breakfast dishes: breads, flapjacks, hot cakes, pancakes, waffles, eggs, meats, soups, sliced fruits, juices, teas, coffees, and an assortment of sauces, butters, syrups, and various other condiments. It was clear that other people had also hit the table as many of the containers were rather short on food. In fact, there was already another person helping themselves to a plate of waffles, eggs, and bacon from the table. There were plates, bowls, and utensils that could be used to carry, contain, and consume the food available. Idealis, who had managed to sneak her way downstairs, was already preparing to grab something to eat herself. 

Idealis: Thank you so much, sir! 

She was currently unaware of anyone else nearby.

CANDOR CITY: Warriors' Hangout Entrance

With a new day breaking in, the commander had figured that it was time for them to return to the hangout. With little discussion needed in dragging Penelope and the robot along for the ride, the trio were already fast approaching the entrance into the facility, so Penelope proceeded to take the lead and flag down the robotic maid at the entrance, waving her hands in an attempt to get her attention.

Penelope: Maid ladyyyyy! Can we go in now?! It's importaaaaaaant!

MAGICAL KINGDOM OF VERVE: Elysia Inn

Idealis opened her eyes slowly as the sunlight crept in from the window, bathing the entire bedroom in its golden light. Idealis slowly opened her eyes as the rays of light flashed upon her eyelids, and groaned, speaking to herself in a low voice.

Idealis: Ugh, sunlight...I don't like it...

Forced by the impatience of the sun to bring an abrupt end to her lovely dream, she proceeded to sit up in bed, still quite groggy from being woken up before she was ready. With no reason to stay in bed any longer, she got out of bed and began getting dressed as quietly as possible, so as not to awaken the sleeping demon in the bed adjacent to hers. As she was preparing for the torturing day that lay ahead of them, she would find her nostrils being raided by a rogue scent of deliciousness, one which caused her stomach to growl. Loudly. Both nervous and embarrassed by this, she, after finally putting on her coat over everything, proceeded to make her way out of the room, once again, as quietly as possible. Who knew what would happen if she accidentally awoke a demon, especially one that seemed to be as unstable as the one she decided to share a room with.

Lize: Yeah, I did. He came out of nowhere, trying to kill Seraph at all costs. He tried to convince us to do the same, but it's not like we paid attention, so-

Magnum: ... If you excuse me! And good night!

 

Even though the rooms were close, he left into a hurry. Seraph, who was near them, sighed and tried to calm him down.

 

Seraph: Magnum, the room's over there. Why are you-

Magnum: Just come in! We need to talk right now!

Seraph: Can't you just wait tomorrow? It's too late to be explosive like you are now.

Magnum: Ugh, fine! Then let's rest! But tomorrow early, we're having a discussion about a certain thing you know, Sir Seraph!

 

Magnum quickly entered on the room and then silence dominated the area until Elizabeth broke it.

 

Lize: Wow, he got pumped up over something like that...

Seraph: *sigh* Seems like I have to wake up early because of him.

Lize: You're a late riser?

Seraph: No, but whenever he's like this I'll be deprived of sleep. So many energy for one single person...

Seraph: Well, I should go to sleep as well. Good night to you two.

Lize: Good night, Seraph.

 

Seraph nodded and went on his room. Seeing how he openly said that, Elizabeth got excited.

 

Lize: He said "good night"... great! One step forward to dig all of Agni's most favorite things! Once I know all of them, he's mine! That marriage of his is so over!

Idealis: That's...a very ambitious goal. I think he was just saying it out of kindness, y'know, like everyone else usually does. Anyway...

Idealis made her way back to her bed and sat down, letting out a sigh of relief.

Idealis: ...what an exhausting day...and to think it's just going to get worse from here.

She slid her coat and socks off, and proceeded to pull the blanket over herself, beginning to get comfortable.

Idealis: I guess we're gonna be stuck here for the long run, aren't we? There's no hope in getting home early; with how many problems are cropping up, I know we're going to be in this far beyond the end of this so-called "threat"...it just shows all of the signs of being a never-ending loop.

She yawned quietly. 

Idealis: But, I guess we should sleep on it for now and hope for the best tomorrow. Good night, Lizzy...

And with that, she shut her eyes, beginning to doze off into a dreamland of optimism for the future.

CANDOR CITY: Northwestern Slums

The Knight acknowledges the order, and motions for Murieann to follow it an the other 3 Knights to the rendezvous point. Meanwhile at the Knights of the Forsaken Headquarters...

Muireann nods, and proceeds to begin following them to the point wordlessly. As of now, there were no more signs that she was on the verge of "breaking".

After hearing Type K's analysis, Shadow Wolf decides to hold his position in the shadows watching the scene through his scope. He gives an order for 3 of the Knights to hold their position and the forth Knight approaches Murieann.

The knight awaits her response...

 

 

By now, the inflection in her voice had vanished. She approached the knight.

Muireann: Understood. Awaiting movement.

Idealis scratched her head. Avoiding a potential threat wasn't something she did unless she knew she wasn't capable of taking it on, but by the sounds of it, with all of them together, they could easily take him on and deal with him before his antics became a problem.

Idealis: This is how I feel about it: if there's a weed that's starting to grow, you have to pull it out of the ground. So what exactly is he capable of that would make him someone to wait on? Isn't he going to get stronger over time? On top of that, there's a lot of us, and what sounds like one of him, and everyone here's capable of something, so I doubt it'd be that much of an issue for us.

The shadows came into view as the sliced at the arms. Although they were swift in their attack, they were only able to successfully slice one arm separating it's glowing bladed hand from it's grotesque arm. They look behind them and instinctively quickly dash to the far left and far right of the creature. Meanwhile, Shadow Wolf had successfully leaped onto the roof of a nearby building. With the his energy charged into his gun, he quickly aims his rifle at the body of the creature...

 

 

This thing won't quit! Take this...POWER SHOT!

 

Shadow Wolf fires his Power Shot, a concentrated blast from his rifle. If the shot hits the intended target directly, it will cause damge based on the amount of turns the move is charged. If it's blocked it will cause the target to be in a "stunned" state momentarily unable to defend or retaliate. 

 

 

 

 

As Shadow Wolf fires the other 2 Cyber Knights dash to the side of Murieann, as if to protect her. One stops and stands near Murieann and Type K. The other continues by Type K pointing at Type K with his blade then pointing at the torso of the creature as he followed the previous knight that ran to the far left of the creature. His motions suggest a flanking maneuver.

The creature was hit by the powerful blast, being unable to move out of the way. It could be heard making a sound that almost sounded like a low yell. What was left behind was nothing more than a puddle of purple goo. The arm that was sliced had also turned into the same goo. Muireann, meanwhile, stared at the puddle for a moment, waiting to see if it something else was going to happen.

She turned her attention to the torso and arm that was lleft of the creature; it appeared that its legs were blown off in the explosion, yet it still refused to die.

Meanwhile, outside of the inn, a figure stood close to the door, looking into the building. They were ignoring the fighting going on close by.

???: (A group of people not from this world...it seems that they actually managed to bring in the cavalry they wanted after all, then. I guess the time is right, anyhow...now, for me to gather my own cavalry.)

The mysterious figure proceeded to walk off, whistling quietly as the snow crunched beneath them.

Muireann would find herself being pushed to the ground by 15K, the woman taking a rather heavy fall as the arm narrowly missed her. She grunted as she hit the ground.

You look beat Murieann. With all that's going on you gotta be at your best or you may not see tomorrow. You've seen quite a bit of action today. I'm used to looking at the world through a scope while hiding in the shadows, but you still have blood on your weapon from that kid. Yeah...I know about him. I was told you impaled him...and continued to fight with him still dangling from your weapon. The beserk demon as well.  My heart can be cold, but you are scary...even to ME at times. I'm glad we're on the same side. 

 

Shadow Wolf attempts to put Murieann at ease as she awaits her escort. On the outside he appears to be at ease, but the ever ready veteran watches Murieann closely. He knows that her mind is not stable and she is teetering on the edge of her own...."self control"...

The visor on her head slid back into the headband, signalling that she was close to resting, or possibly something else.

Muireann: ...

Suddenly, the arms of the creature came flying out from the smoke left behind by the explosion, trails of smoke coming from behind them. One was headed right for Shadow Wolf's back, whilst the other was flying right at Muireann's back, both with the bladed part at the front, making them almost like spears flying through the air.

Looks like we got'em. I'm not sure what this thing was, but it certainly had no intention on leaving any survivors. It melted your shield like a hot knife through butter, Murieann. And almost did the same to you WHOLE BODY, Type K. That's why I'm not taking any chances...

 

Shadow Wolf walks over to the stone creature. He places a round flat object on each of the creature's 3 segments and begins walking away and talking...

 

 

It's always strange to see them float even though they turn to stone. You would thing that being petrified would cause it to fall...well...like a rock. Guess that's just another wonder of this crazy world, eh? Anyway...I suggest you guys follow me. Unless you wanna leave hear in pieces...those round objects aren't Christmas ornaments. But they WILL light up in a few seconds...if you catch my drift..

 

Shadow Wolf motions to the 3 objects he placed on the creature...once he and the others are far away, he will detonate 3 bombs placed on the creature. His intent is to blast the statued beast into small pieces...

Muireann: I...shall seek repairs...when I...return...

The explosion was quite sizable and caused a small shockwave to travel through the area, one far more powerful than it should have been. The explosion itself also caused several windows on buildings and cars around to shatter.

When he heard Idealis saying that they have killed him, Magnum shook his head and looked back at her.

 

Magnum: Dead? No, he isn't dead. He's alive but he left the army and Heaven as well. Said he was a disgrace to the family and all that, also blaming me for the fall of the Alexandria.

Lize: *snaps out* Wait, but doesn't defeated means killed?

Magnum: He wanted to kill us both, but we would never do something of the sort.

 

Then, he looked at the window for a moment. The snow fell through the night sky, as if they were lights replacing the stars.

 

Magnum: It has been a long time since I last heard of him... I wonder how Estro is doing actually.

 

He heard Idealis asking him about Seraph. Magnum's face closed and he sighed.

 

Magnum: Now you got to a point which I don't comment with everyone. So, let's keep it a secret.

Lize: A-Alright, we're listening.

Magnum: How should I put it... he's... lonely.

Lize: Lonely?

Magnum: We work in good terms... but Sir Seraph's cold. He's pretty much emotionless sometimes. It's one of the reasons why he is lonely.

Lize: He doesn't sound so lonely whenever Agni's near.

Magnum: That's kind of an obsession that I can only describe as "unhealthy". It's not like Agni doesn't love him. He does a lot, but not in the same amount as Seraph.

Lize: So, you're saying that Agni's his comfort pillar?

Magnum: Basically, yeah, that's pretty much about it. You do see how he changed when we separated. They know each other for a longer time than I do know both, so I guess their friendship did evolve to a brotherhood... only thing is that he's really crazy about it. I tried to be friendly with him, but he gave me the cold shoulder. That's why I'm always on the edge to try that again. Even though he's trying to be friendly with me, I don't know if I should respond that way too.

Lize: Then why did you defend him? If he's so cold to refute your friendliness, then-

Magnum: Well, in a way or another, he's my friend too. He's just... hard to understand sometimes.

 

Upon hearing the stories, Elizabeth came to her own conclusion, which differed a little from what Idealis could've possibly thought.

 

Lize: (... I can't doubt him. I can't believe that Agni would be so horrible... I don't know him much, but I do know he wouldn't do such a thing. After all, Victoria herself said he's the love of her life because of how kind he is.)

Idealis let out a sigh, though it was hard to tell if it was one of relief, exhaustion, or annoyance.

Idealis: So, let me get this straight...your brother came to kill the both of you, but you both managed to fight him off, causing him to leave this..."army" and "Heaven" out of apparent humiliation. And you're obviously not worried about him hunting you both down when you're both unaware and avenging his honor, so I guess that's of no concern for any of us, right?

Idealis: And then it turns out that Seraph, the guy that's one of the coldest in "Heaven" and the least open, is actually really clingy to Agni for some unknown reason. Are you sure that loneliness is the problem here? I imagine he could've easily found someone else more...mmm...fitting, for lack of a better term, to be a sort of brother to him. And don't get me started on how everyone else around him is...pretty much the same way, just on a hopefully somewhat lesser scale.

She stopped for a moment and sent a judging glance at Elizabeth before continuing.

Idealis: It just doesn't make sense to me no matter how I try to piece it together. Even factoring in how long they've been together, it's still hard for me to believe that they just had a normal friendship that expanded into a brotherly bond. This guy sounds like he would slay an entire army just to get to Agni if they stood in his way. 

Frustrated, she groaned and fell upon her bed, gazing up at the ceiling.

Idealis: (They call themselves angels, but are they really deserving of that title? It sounds more like the place is run by a bunch of gifted people with personal problems...someone needs to have a talk with the gods in charge up there. And then the possibility of a manipulator among us being a future problem...Iago would be so useful right now...) 

Suddenly, three bright flashes occurred outside of the window, accompanied by shattering sounds for each one, causing Idealis to shoot up and look outside of the window.

Idealis: These witches are taking their fights way too-

She quickly slid off of the bed and hid behind it as a person dressed in thick clothing slammed against the window back-first and fell down, the window somehow remaining undamaged, but a loud sound coming from the impact. Outside, a group of people surrounding the fight in an arc could be seen and heard cheering, someone else standing in front of the arc proudly, possibly waiting for the person that was just thrown away to get up.

(That was a close one...) Type K! You'll need to really think before you act. The arms on that thing will turn your body into "robot pudding" if you're not careful! Get ready!

 

 

(It's distracted now's my chance...) Seal...Evil...

 

While the creature was focused on Murieann and Type K, Shadow Wolf channels his energy into his gun and fires a single shot at the beast. If the shot connects it has 2 results. One, if the creature is "Undead", has a base element that is "Dark" or has significant "Evil" in it's intentions then the shot will "Petrify" the creature turning it to stone. Two, if none of the above applies it will cause critical damage to the target.

The creature swiped at Muireann once again, though she was able to hop back and away from the attack, causing it to be hit by the bullet and for its body to quickly become petrified, its movements halting, though the arms were still floating in place despite the fact that they were stone. Muireann glanced at 15K.

Muireann: Threat neutralized. 

She then proceeded to contact Hakumen.

Muireann: Threat has been neutralized by Shadow Wolf. Awaiting further orders...

Her voice could be heard gaining inflection for a moment.
