"The story revolves around four teenagers; Akina, Hime, Ao, and Kotoha; each of them having their own unique abilities. They run an office called Hiizumi Life Counseling Office, where their job is to help and protect the townspeople of Sakurashin, a town where humans and youkai co-exist. The town is protected by a barrier created by the spiritual sakura known as The Seven Pillars. The Seven Pillars exist in both the human world and the youkai world and is the only thing that keeps both worlds connected to each other. However, recent bizarre incidents have occurred in their town and someone has threatened its safety. It is up to the four of them to protect the town they love."

The series is created by Suzuhito Yasuda. He did character designs for Devil Survivor and light novel designs for Durarara!!

Please read Yozakura Quartet. It is amazing. The manga is currently ongoing.

"When demons walk the streets, the cops need to recruit more demons!

In a town where humans and demons co-exist, it takes more than a normal police force to maintain the peace. Enter the Hiizumi Life Counseling Office, a fantastic foursome of unique teenagers, each gifted with an amazing super power! Since it sometimes takes real demon-fire to fight demon fire, the first three quarters of the team aren't exactly human: Ao, a cat-eared telepath; Kotoha, a half-human conjuror; and Hime, descended from a dragon (and the town's acting mayor), all of whom also happen to be delightfully female.

Rounding out the group is the token male and human, Akina, the office director and "Oyakume," capable of banishing spirits permanently (and from their point of view quite fatally) via a process called tuning. They may not look as impressive as some other superhero teams, and they certainly don't have the most dynamic name ever, but come hell hounds or high water, but they will defend their city!"

First anime adaptation of Yozakura Quartet. Haven't seen it so personally can't say anything about it but I don't hear much about it anyway.

"An OVA based on the Hoshi no Umi arc of the manga spanning chapters 26-34.

This arc focuses on Rin Azuma, a Jiang-Shi yokai resident of Sakurashin adjusting to her new life in the city and working for a ramen shop. One day her former friend Zakuro Kurumaki invades Sakurashin to capture Rin and convince her to join her in destroying the city with the other yokai hunters as well as Enjin Hiizumi, the main antagonist of the series. Akina Hiizumi and the other members of the Hiizumi Life Counseling Office take action to save Rin, 'tune' the yokai controlling Zakuro and protect the city."

Retelling of the first few arcs of the series. It follows the same arcs fine but changes here and there. Different introduction arc and bunch of fanservice. It's actually pretty good. You're better off watching this than the 2008 anime. It skips the Hoshi no Umi arc with a summery opening for episode 9 so after episode 8 you should watch the OVA.

""Tsuki ni Naku" will take the story content from volume 11 of the manga, which features a visit to a onsen by the members of the Hiizumi Life Councelling Office, while the town's police force have to deal with a new youkai-hunter threat."

Goes over an arc after Hana no Uta.

Also worth noting that the anime studio who've done the OVAs and Hana no Uta is Tatsunoko Production.
