managed to catch up with ur series. the vn sequences look better now, but it seems like a problem with rendering the vid, that makes it all choppy. if u do go back to the other program. stop using blue text, or design a better text box. its just too hard to read

it sounds like u only got the trial ver if it records for only a few sec. I like it cuz it's simple, and can benchmark. but I agree that the file sizes end up being really big. avi files in general are big

cant say i have experience in ne of ur programs. movie maker does suck though. I find videostudios easiest to use for most things, and bust out vegas for things like crop tools. btw, y not use fraps? or is bandicam better?

watched 2 eps(including pilot) and tried watching some other fanfics from ppl who commented. the problem. since so many ppl have such long movies, and same characters, similar styles, etc. it just got super confusing trying to follow mugen series. i'll see if i can watch some more of ur stuff later btw there maybe a better site for promoting stuff like this. these kinds of vids tend to get little attention, except from a few ppl. & what programs did u use?

np, as a fellow video gaming based VN fanfic maker, i tend to try to give constructive criticism, since i know most ppl just say it's awsome, or it sucks. I like pleasing the former group, ignore the latter. but neither usually provide too much constructive criticism. I really dont think i have right to critique story, considering I watched pilot ep only, and it usually takes a bit of extra uniqueness to impress me. I would rather discuss things like story personally and not thru a msg board anyways. 1 thing about mugen stories in general, is that the battles mostly seem like game battles per say. which is 1 reason why i prefer 1 round. I took things a little further while making a fanfic. http://www.wenoo.net/video/a0f905fd59e718ca05e here's an example a 1 shot mugen fanfic I made(yes I did some of my own art as well as edited some pics). note how I transition the battles into the story line. 1 of my goals was kind of to make a mugen fanfic, that didnt completely seem like it. and seemed more like a visual novel where the battles were part of the story line. I got the idea since I posted my earlier works on a yuri forum, and 1 person mentioned how my drifting series had racing battles(done with another game) really seemed like it was part of a story, while my already completeld mugen series lacked.. whether you like my style, I wouldn't know, but it would take a bit of extra video editing. another thing i might add are parts where characters are just standing still. if you record a scene of them standing, which can be done in training or vs, and then just loop that scene, they seem more lifefull. Most ppl dont recognize that but it's 1 of my pet peeves. maybe these tips may help ur future eps get more detailed.

been forever since i watched a mugen fanfic. watched 1 ep. donno if i'll watch the rest, since I donno if it'll hold my interests. some constructive critisism: -font was really hard to read, with the way you chose the background.font colors, and no font bordrs in some places -battles were way too long. I personally think most mugen fanfic are better with just 1 rounds battles. or if you want a more cinematic appraoch, and dont mind more editing, do something similar to what I did with Setsuko Xmas Tale

does ne1 care why u hate it? no. Infact I prefer having some haters and fans at the same time, and just apealing to what appeals to myself, which appeals to fans. I know non yuri fans who found it funny and clever, & I can't recall a yuri/ecchi fans who didnt like it. Appealing to ppl like u, would be just boring imo. Here's a fact, I'd rather appeal to myself, which appeals to ppl of similar interests. naruto has lots of haters. i thought the dark knight was boring and substanceless. There's no denying they have loyal fan followings, and i doubt the creators care what the haters think. or rather are happy that their work has haters. ikkitousen, strike witches, rosario vampire, etc were awesome imo, and didnt get the most favorable reviews. Do I care if u hate them? no. they are all popular enough to have more than 2 season, despite the haters. if i was not the creator and just coming by and reading a review like that, i would just see u as 1 of those typical anti fanservice freaks, who forget everything at the site of fan service. and i would be thinking, must check this series out. & u just contradict urself by saying there's no substance but there's lots of yuri, which in itself was a lot of substance.

thx for the review. my goal was a short story. the plot was more developed than my original goal which was just have 2-3 episodes. i thought the story was simple for the most part and easy to understand, except for the parts that were supposed to be surprising. gramar for speach isn't really important imo. when you talk, rarely any1 talks with perfect gramar, and it's often broken i tried to keep most characters in character, though they were clearly in love and paired with another most of the time. I always had a feeling ayane/kasumi had secret crushes, which was always a possible doa canon. they were in denial, which was cute in itself. touhou relationships always varies. setsuna and konoka's relationship was always yuri themed. the epilogue of negima's timeline hints that they got married in a few years Ingrid is just a mystery so anything's possible for her. I wasnt familiar with melty blood's characterization at the moment, and just thought akiha V looked cool & evil when i saw her. My plan was originally kagura maki as a villain. though that didn't happen, because i never found a good mugen version. so i-no became an unlikely replacement. I-no definetly showed signs of being a bisexual nympho in ggxx. I agree the text was too fast now that i rewatch it. though it is pretty hard to focus on text at some1's own pace. I never really thought of that at the time, though i did already correct that in Mizuki. i know fights can be better. I personally think they were too long untill ep5, where i decided to go 1 round. It's hard to learn moves/combos for most characters, and pull off a lot of them. ai can sometimes be really stupid, or just godly annoying to make it good. also the touhou characters were like a bitch to fight. I did not figure out how to edit the characters to make the ai weaker/stronger, take away moves. lose the annoying auto heal, etc. i probably should of done more editing which i think i will for my next project, now that my editing skills and creativity of tricks have improved a lot. I don't think i have to show all the projectiles. dodging/blocking to get close.

I love constructive critism, that may help me improve or may not(depending on how i agree with the person). sry u're not much of a yuri fan, i thought u would be, because u used the kannazuki no miko ending theme in ur vid(a yuri anime). i was suprised how many ppl arent but i guess they have fans and non fans of everything. the purpose of the panty thievery isnt really revealed untill ep 4. and editing skills took a big leap forward at ep5. If i was to make something now, it'll be a lot more refined. as shown in my more recent, non mugen, touge racing/drifting fanfic webseries(mizuki no densetsu), which also has a big difference in artistic quality if u compare my earlier eps with the most recent season ending. i tend to be a lover of yuri & ecchi. but also consider that it was supposed to be funny, sexy, cute, while having a plot. I cant think of another mugen series like that. also 1 of my main inspirations was Mahou Sensei Negima (setsuna and konoka in here are from negima, and also a yuri couple). Similar to negima, i mixed a lot of different genre's (action, comedy, yuri, mystery, etc), & developed a nobody dies theme. also my ex at the time was bi & had a crush on ayane fan, & rped with a kasumi. which was another inspiration for me. ----- btw i'm planning xmas special x(temporary name). it'll be the 1st mugen fanfic vid with original artwork(as far as i know). probably just be 1 ep unless its too long and i gt split the files. characters will blink, just like they did in Mizuki no Densetsu. unfortunetly, what u will probably not like, is that much like panty thief which precedes it, it'll be centered around an all female cast, and focused on a yuri. with a light hearted humour silly theme mixed with action. In fact my next project is actually made for panty thief fans, with a bit of Mizuki reference thrown in for fans of both my series. (yes it's an actual walking animation with snow i made myself though i wont expect too much original animation cuz it takes awhile to make) my prediction is that fans of my previous works will love it, haters will hate it as usual. but i dont care about haters.

watched ep2. the story seems like it'll pick up with a dark setting, and its a pretty slow paced start. ep1 was a bit more cheesy with the transformation laughing scenes. i also kind of already knew dracula was going to show up n the dinosaur would win, b4 i actually saw it, or atleast had a gut feeling. i knew the main character was going to do something, didnt expect transform to dino scene.

doa, iamp, unthinkable natural law, were also used for some battles. & does any1 know how to embedd gozie, dailymotion vids.

only watched ep1 so far. not a bad start. nice choice of music that was the longest mugen ep ever. u should of just made it 1 rd/fight. it was kind of funny/weird how u just chose random lines, which did not match what the characters were saying. I guess for those with no j knowledge it doesnt matter. i can understand a few but not all, and 90% of them do not match. I liked how u had no lifebars, so u cant tell whose winning, and character portrates like a real vn. since a lot just have the boxes. not sure how the mb events in the beginning are related to the later ones, but I guess it's the 1st ep. i dont know 1/2 the characters. check out my series (panty theif mysteries) and tell me what u think.

as promised, it's the most unique mugen fanfic series ever, guaranteed. and if u dont agree honestly, i'll give u a cookie. Like it or hate it I would like some opinions on it originally made for youtube, then moved to zippcast, now scattered on gozie and dailymotion in zippcast's absense(wish there was a decent vid sharing website nowadays). just watched the 1st ep. its a lil slow paced for my taste, and predictable(most mugen fanfic are). but i'm also a little tired and dont really feel like digesting info too well. also get a better video editing program, u should enlarge the vid a little and not show the lifebars, since its 1 hit kill anyways. i might post my own series 18r. which like or hate will be the most original thing any1's ever seen in a mugen fanfic. dont really feel like looking it up atm though, and it doesnt seem like too many ppl reply to these threads here.
