Dimahoo or known in Japan as Great Mahou Daisakusen (Great Magic Armageddon) is a maniac shooter by 8ing that was distributed by Capcom which uses a futuristic, yet medieval theme and an elemental magic game mechanic. Story The story is pretty basic: An army of monsters have suddenly risen from the underground [apparently the Earth was really hollow] and now it's up to the "Great Bounty Hunters" to stop them. That's it. Nothing deeper. I can guess that this is the sequel to Mahuo Daisakusen, but it's so vague, I can't guess. What a waste of a good storyline.... 1/10 Characters There are four characters you can play as: SOLO-BANG the Warrior KARTE the Sorceress MIYAMOTO the Dragon GRIMLEN the Necromancers Each one have different traits and talents, but the last two are meant to be used by experts of this kind of game, while KARTE is for rookies, and SOLO-BANG is for most people. Though their designs are interesting, like the story, there's nothing about their history or character. Jeez.... 4/10 Gameplay The gameplay is interesting for this kind of game genre. Like most shooters, you fly around, dodging bullets and lasers, collecting powerups and points while at the same time destroying as many enemies as possible. The bosses of each stage can be pretty hard, but quite beatable, and in all there are 6 stages in this game. The powers are 3 different things: Bomb crystals, Magic Stones, and Magic Books. Magic Stones are the main way to increase your shot's power and range, think of it like the Touhou P blocks, you need to collect a certain amount to level up, and when your are at max, you get more points. Magic Books - increases your sub shot, and the power of your elemental bursts and bombs, I'll explain this in a moment Bomb Crystals - These should be self-explanatory. They give you a bomb. But like Power stones, you need to gather them to make one bomb. Or if your lucky, you can grab a complete crystal and get one right then and there. Elements - This is what makes this game unique, the use of elements. When shooting, you may notice that your character is a certain color, and when holding the shot button, you start to change colors. This is called Elemental Charge. It's basically to change elements and then perform an attack using that element on an enemy with increased power for a certain amount of time. Just keep in mind that when charging, you wont be firing shot, so watch it. There is also the fact that you only have fire and ice on your side, so think carefully. When firing at an enemy in a different color than the target, it receives twice the damage as it normally would, and you get twice as much score as usual. If the same color, however, you do half the damage. Also, when it comes to enemy bullets, if it's a different color then your ship's, your shots will merely go through them, and if your hit with it, you lose a life. If the same color, your shots basically eat the bullets and if your hit, you only lose one magic and shot level. Try to use this mechanic to your advantage, and the game will be a lot easier! Oh there's also a lot of items you can gather by doing certain feats in the game. What they are, are basically hidden in the game, but you can just look it up. This adds to the replayability, a very wise move. This game is 2 players, and if you so wish, you can access the arcade board, and set it so you can do a 2 game loop[adding up to 12 stages], where you go through the game again, but on a higher difficulty. This gameplay is why I still play this game to date, it's my favorite kind of shooter, second only to ones where I can use focused movement. 8/10 Sound and Graphics Very good for a CPSII game. The backgrounds are so busy and so much is going on, it can confuse you if you look around too much. There's also the announcer who speaks in English. With the except of the Engrish due to bad translating, and the "WORRYING, WORRYING, PLEASE BE CAREFILL," it's has pretty solid sound and graphics. 6/10 Overall, this is a good game, despite the lack of depth storywise, and I recommend people to get this game on Mame. Grade: B- Fun fact Wanna know something?

One of those games you'd never expect to see sold as an official title, Super Puzzle Fighter is a great mix of mind over matter and disgusting adorable versions of A-class Capcom Fighters such as Ryu, Chun-li, Morrigan and Felicia. The game is easy to pick up and go to town on, but only true tactical genius learn to master in. Definitely a great competitive puzzle game. One of my favorites besides Tetris Attack or Pokemon Puzzle League

Or Soul Blade, I just like the idea the evil sword started it off, then Soul Calibur turned up and booted the evil right back where it came from. And DAT INTRO. It says Soul Blade, was for PSX too. But I wanted to put this here, because.. this is where the epic soul series began. I'll try and find an arcade video.. Arcade version rom, but lags a bit due to emulator and computer stuff.

The Start of the next Millennium, and the King of Fighters series is still going strong in King of Fighters 2000. This edition focuses the newest hero to the tournament: K', as well as expands on the striker system, going as far as to tap into other SNK games including slipping Fio from Metal Slug into the mix! Personally, I perfer this one than the other two games that use the striker system, mainly because of its choice of strikers, and also: This intro kicks ass
-
Basically SNK's go at a crossover game with Capcom before the famous CVS series appeared. Great game to play alone or competitively.
-
The last KOF game that has been in the arcades and has been successfully emulated. Large roster of characters to choose from and a good combat mechanics. And as you can tell from the video, is a great game to play others in
-
Garou was an interesting title that was plopped in between KOF games and other hits. The unique system, characters and music all help it stand out amongst the crowd. Not to mention, there's a girl who RAPES YOUR SOUL as a super, and that's always great.

because batman loves little girls (batgirl)

It is turn based battle system, but its just a fun turn based battle system, not like final fantasy where there stationary.

The Neo Geo Pocket Color Metal Slug game successfully duplicates the look and gameplay of the arcade games, but it also adds a non-linear element to it, which brings a whole lot of depth to the series. There are lots of branching pathways in the game. Some are as simple as walking out a door, while others involve cool little things like getting shot down while piloting a jet, and having to eject and parachute down to a level you wouldn't see if you were better at dodging enemy aircraft. Also, you've been given a health meter, so you can withstand a few shots before going down. Your maximum health increases as you progress through the game. All of the little nuances of the arcade games are present here, from weapons like the shotgun and missile launcher, to vehicles like a jet and the Metal Slug itself. You can knife soliders, collect various power-ups, rescue POWs, and even grab coins, which can be spent on continues. You can also save your game. The game has really good graphics for a portable system, and most of the game runs at a pretty high speed. However, the game tends to slowdown when there's a lot of action on-screen. Thankfully, it isn't too bothersome. Metal Slug: First Mission is a must-own game for shooter fans. It has the longevity to survive long after the game has been beaten. Gameplay

Super Mario Bros. is a game title that EVERYONE should probably be aware of, and this game would be your guide to its greatness if you didn't. Basically, this game was 4 of the famous Mario games that came out on the NES resprited in gorgeous 16-bit, and put back just the way the original was in one cartridge. If you want to have nostalgia of the Famous plumber before he went 3d and became a sport and party game addict, this is the game to play. The 4 games are: Super Mario Bros. (The Start of greatness) Super Mario Bros. 2 (JAP or the Lost levels) (a lot harder than the first) Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA or Doki Doki Mario) (DRUG TRIP) Super Mario Bros. 3 (Best Mario game EVER)

When the Nintendo 64 came out, and major classics like Zelda and Mario were announced to appear on the system, fans were FLIPPING OUT about the chances of the games sucking in 3D. Turns out, The Zelda games that came out are actually 2 of the best titles of the Zelda series. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ms8iup8U0E Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are basically two Zelda games focusing on the same version of Link who has two separate quests, one in each of the games. In OoT, Link is known in his home village as the boy without a fairy. He one night has a nightmare about Zelda being chased by someone. He is found and woken up by a fairy named Navi, who tells him he needs to save Zelda, who has been captured by the King of Thieves: Ganondorf. The story and crap you have to deal with in OoT is pretty epic to say the least. From lifting a curse from a sacred tree to being able to morph into an Adult and Back! Like most Zelda games, you follow the basic Triforce quest: Go to the Five Temples and achieve a specific objective. In this game, it's to awaken the Sage of said temple, all the while collecting items, money, and equipment to help you proceed through the game. Majora's Mask takes place a little after OoT, where Link is a kid once more [Zelda basically turned him back so he can actually experience his childhood firsthand], on a personal quest to "find a childhood friend" [Navi doesn't seem to be with him here....could it be her?] and then IS BLATANTLY ROBBED by a charactered called the Skull Kid, who wears a strange mask and is accompanied by two fairies: Tael and Tatl. The Skull Kid then proceeds to take the ocarina and runs off; naturally, Link gives chase. It gets worse for Link when the Skull Kid basically changes him into a Deku Scrub. For those who don't know what that is, this is how Link looks as one Yeah.... Anyway, his luck finally gets a slight break when one of the fairys, Tatl, gets left behind from the Skull Kid's dickery. She then decides to help Link get his Ocarina back to confront the Skull Kid on his behavior. The game is a lot longer to finish then expected at first, because of all the plot explanation and things that need to be done before you can have you're little showdown with the Kid. This includes from finishing trivial mini-games to get new weapons or upgrades, to exploring temples to get the help of other species for new things, including the ability to BECOME said species. You would think that this game would probably proceed over a long time period, but no; it's just three days. "Why three days," you ask? BECAUSE A HUGE ASS MOON WITH A FREAKY FACE IS GONNA KILL US ALL IF IT TAKES MORE THAN THREE DAYS, THAT'S WHY! What, not enough time to get all the things you need to beat the Skull Kid? Don't worry! All you have to do then is to get the Ocarina back before then and play the Song of Time. That can't be hard, right.......right...? Bottom Line: Prove that classic game from the 2d realm can be GREAT in 3D if done right

I never cared for any of the games, I hate TBS. i was reposting.

This is one of my favorites Made by Konami in 1994 was based on Batman: The Animated Series (which, by the way, was a revolutionary cartoon at the time) and one of the three games released with the same name in the same year, but each with it's own styles and made by different companies The Story Each level is like a mini-TV episode, with a title image just like the cartoon, a quick animated intro talking about what's happening and soon Batman can pick his equipment to bring to the mission. There are lots of non-playable characters from the series, like Commissioner Gordon, the reporter Summer Gleeson, Alfred, Robin and the classic villains like The Joker, Clayface and many others. The Game It's a 2D action game where the player guides Batman until he reaches the villain. But all the levels are very different from each other, from traditional platforms with enemies, chasing Catwoman across the city, a Batmobile level, a labyrinth and even a boss rush. Batman got a myriad of bat-gadgets, like smoke bombs, batrangs, grapplers and shurikens, as expected from the Dark Knight. He also got many moves from rolling on the floor, wall jumping and throwing. There are many moments where you'll need to act fast and have quick reflexes, like jumping into a moving airship or escaping from spikes while the wall closes. There are many elements straight from the TV, like some puzzles from the Riddler's level and certain equipments are vital to some levels. There are two modes: Easy and Hard, but as expected if you beat the Easy mode the game tells you to try the Hard one, but the ending isn't much different. And the Easy Mode can be hard enough specially at the Labyrinth. The Graphics The TV series was revolutionary because of it's high quality, both in animation, sound and script, so the game couldn't be different: each level is unique, with backgrounds that goes from a amusement park, museums, ballrooms with beautiful reflexions, a run at Gotham's rooftops and back alleys, there's always something to see and the game makes good use from the hardware effects. The enemies got lots of frames, with a fair number of attacks and many different ones, each according to the level. It's easy to recognize the villains and each one is very nicely characterized. The Man-Bat is grotesque, Poison Ivy got lots of her plants with her and so on. Batman himself is wonderful: he got beautiful fluid animations, his cape is nice to see and even his running sprites are very detailed. The controls are quite precise, so it's incredibly fun to control him. Sound As expected, there's no sounds beside random grunts and some minor sounds, but they did a good job: it's easy to recognize Joker's laughter and the sounds of each boss. But the enemies got quite generic sounds. The musics are quite close to the ones at the series, varying according to the background and the moments, fitting quite well. What about the Genesis version? This version was made by Clokwork Tortoise and is a run 'n' gun like Contra, with two player mode (you can pick between Batman or Robin). Some areas are side-scrolling shooter, and there are four of them. It's a very hard game, with some nice special effects but an awful music. It tries so hard to be like Gunstar Heroes, but it fails miserably. Avoid it. Conclusion It's one of the best Batman games and a very good SNes game, it's worth playing. The only flaw is the game is sorta short: only eight levels long. But each one of them is unique with great variety. Any gamer should try it at least once.

Rainbow Islands is a 1987 arcade game developed and published by Taito. The game is subtitled "The Story of Bubble Bobble 2" and is the sequel to Taito's hit game Bubble Bobble. The game was ported for numerous home computers and game consoles. The basic premise of the game is that each level is an island which is slowly sinking into the sea. The player must therefore get to the top of each level, by jumping on platforms and making use of the game's most distinctive feature: the ability to produce solid rainbows, which are used both as platforms to stand on, and as a weapon. One of the features which sets this game apart from many others (and has no doubt been responsible for the game's popularity) is its 'hidden depths'. While initially appearing to be quite a simple game, Rainbow Islands in fact has a vast number of secrets for the player to discover, including secret levels, secret power-ups and riddles. Because of these elements, completing the game properly requires a large amount of dedication from the player. The scoring system also has secrets, which allow vastly higher scores to be achieved than normal. Again, I love this game too. Do now how many times I tried to get past the level 6 boss. http://mugenfreeforall.com/public/style_emoticons//biggrin.png So many memories... BTW... the playthrough up there... He misses the extra levels and the real final boss. http://mugenfreeforall.com/public/style_emoticons//wink.png

Bubble Bobble is an arcade game by Taito, first released in 1986 and later ported to numerous home computers and game consoles. The game, starring the twin Bubble Dragons Bub and Bob , is an action-platform game in which players travel through one hundred different stages, blowing and bursting bubbles, avoiding enemies and collecting a variety of items. The game became very popular and led to a long series of sequels and spin-offs. The main goal of the game is to rescue Bub and Bob's girlfriends from monsters. It is also notable for being an early example of a game with multiple endings, which depended on the player's skill and discovering secrets. In the game, each player controls one of the two Bubble Dragons, Bub and Bob. The player can move along platforms, as well as jump to those above and to the side, similar to most platform games. The player can also blow bubbles. These can trap enemies, who are defeated if the bubble is then burst by the player's spiny back. The bubbles also float for a time before bursting, and can be jumped on, allowing access to otherwise inaccessible areas. Players progress to the next level once all enemies on the current level are defeated. Enemies turn "angry" – becoming pink-colored and moving faster – if they are the last enemy remaining, escape from a bubble after being left too long, or a certain amount of time has been spent on the current level. A monster will also become angry if either player collects a skull (the only negative item in the game), and the monster is hit by the resulting comet crossing the screen. However, this is a rare occurrence. After a further time limit expires, an additional invincible enemy appears for each player, actively chasing them using only vertical and horizontal movements. These do not need to be defeated to complete the level, and disappear once a player's life is lost. Contact with enemies and their projectiles (rocks, lasers, fireballs, etc.) is deadly, resulting in the loss of a life. Last Boss Oh man, I LOVE that game. Mine BFF and I played that game since our childhood... Last time we had another playthrough just last year! http://mugenfreeforall.com/public/style_emoticons//biggrin.png Very funny to see Bub as a Boss in the "I Wanna Be The Fangame"

Mighty Final Fight follows the same premise as the original Final Fight. The Mad Gear Gang, the dominant street gang of Metro City, have kidnapped Mayor Haggar's daughter, Jessica. After Haggar is informed of her kidnapping, he sets out to rescue her along with his two friends: Cody, Jessica's boyfriend; and Guy, Cody's training partner. The story is presented in a more comical fashion compared to the original game due to its satirical nature. For example, Belger's motive for kidnapping Jessica in this version is to force her into marrying him, having become infatuated with her. One of my favorite nes game long long ago, played it many times with my cousins.

Not my most favorite of Golden Axe's, I feel this game was much more limiting that the first 2. and the characters appear to be more... boxy?.. or rather Stiff. where as the guy from the first game seemed more natural.

Although i've played all the Shinobi Games, this is by far my most favorite, cause they add more animations to him and he runs and plays better. oh the running makes a different of course LOL

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMR9_bpg9K0 WeaponLord (SNES/Genesis, 1995) 1 of the greatest, most intricate & intuitive fighters ever made, WeaponLord is NOT for the faint of heart [read: casual player or "pick-up-&-go" fighter lover], it's only for the true fighter fanatic. it's brutal & visceral as hell, which more than matches up with its theme of the age of the barbarian, & 1ce you start learnin' the system [which isn't as hard to pick up on as it seems, masterin' it is another matter altogether], includin' the specials & combos, you'll really appreciate the way it was handled, the genius that went into it. & the kills? even MK isn't as optional with its fatal set as this game is. with the ability to decapitate, degut, brain, & maime freely, you can truly phukk up you victim 6 ways from Sunday mornin' cartoons, your only limit is your timin', & your imagination, which might get kinda dark & twisted playin' this 1. so give this joint a turn or 10, if you've got the intestinal fortitude. (warning: Genesis version is kinda cheap; you can get away with alot of shit, like infinites)

I love Advance Wars. I love the series of games it had, Advance Wars, 2: Black Hole Rising, DS, Dark Conflict (mostly) and the gamecube spinned version, Battalion Wars, with the Wii sequal, Battalion Wars II. So after a time, I wanted to go back and try the old games. So I tried Famicom Wars. And while confusing to begin with, japanese, different techniques... I have finished just the first map. And yet still think it's awesome. It has great music (Love the opening to the Red Star theme, going suddenly into lighter toned song) and a fun, simple way to play. So yeah, I like the game.

One of the few games that i actually cared about to finish up all the way. Definately one of the most amazing games, It is more than just a run and gun its a puzzle platforming action game. Not to mention it features (sorta) the boss from Guardian Heroes for the Sega Saturn. Golden Silver. Definately a badass game, a MUST play.
-
yeah a HD version of this game would be badass.
-
Its great I strongly recommend it.
